Sorry I haven’t been able to get to this before now. It was a long week. On this episode it is just two weeks before decision day. Will the relationships get stronger or start to fall apart?
Amber and Dave
It is weird to me that we have not yet that scene with Dave at the gym were the guys say things about Amber that were less than flattering. There is not much time left.
Dave bought all the stuff to make a rooftop garden together. They both seem very happy with this project. They talk about family traditions, especially regarding Christmas. The even start dividing up the holidays between their parents. This relationship looks better than usual this week. We never saw them actually plant anything. Was that whole scene scripted?
I have yet to see Amber so much as make her husband a sandwich or pour him a glass of tea. He’s responsible for all meals and all the cleanup. Hell, I’d marry him at this point. Amber has declared herself a lot less insecure. These two appear to have turned things around. At least that is the script. It doesn’t seem very believable.
When these two set goals Dave wants to buy a house. They both want to start a family. Amber wants to retire at 55. She then realizes that she will have a 15-year-old. She also wants to have a “passion project.” She thinks she wants to live in a retirement community at 55. I’m not sure they let you move in that early. She is really excited about it and I sort of get it. I keep looking in to Jimmy Buffett’s new Margaritaville retirement community in Florida and wonder if I can afford to move there. I’m not kidding.
Mia and Tristan
These two are playing for the trip to Houston. They are in the process of combining their insurance. It’s time to sign up for their health insurance together. Tristan cancelled his insurance but Mia did not. Now she is still fucking around about signing up as a married couple. Mia is pissed and hurt because Tristan cancelled his health insurance without telling her. Mia seems to be picking a fight for no reason. She seems totally different from I remember her. No she is acting like she doesn’t want to move to Houston.
We missed a big off camera blow up about the insurance and the trip to Houston. Tristan packs her up and shows her the door. Tristan has reached his breaking point and he is done with her. He sets all her stuff outside the door and shuts it in her face. Mia barely has a reaction. Tristan says he didn’t say the marriage was over, he just said if she doesn’t want to go to Houston she can go stay in her condo. She doesn’t need to stay at his place.
Dr. Jessica video chats with Mia about the fight. She manages to sort of cry with no tears when she calls. I’m not buying it. Later, Tristan talks to Pastor Cal. He tells Tristan not to make the relationship as a bargaining tool or a point of leverage in the relationship. Pastor Cal wants to sit down with both of them. When they talk, Mia plays the victim. Tristan says that he feels terrible about the situation. Tristan says he feels like he is not what is best for her. He needs to take a break. Pastor Cal goes to get him. He asks if they still love each other and they both say yes. Tristan says he has never let himself love and it is deep and scary and he apologizes because he wants to be better. She wants to stay with him too. Sigh. She is staying the night and they will get her stuff in the morning. They do seem to make up fairly easily once they calm down.
Danielle and Bobby
Danielle is out-of-town on business, again. Bobby goes out to dinner with his friend who warns him that he is still in the honeymoon phase and he needs to be prepared for the inevitable difficulties.
Bobby was really happy to find the love letter Danielle left for him before she left town. Bobby is head over heels for Danielle. He really misses her when she is on the road.
These two start talking about goals. Danielle is onboard to start a family so that is a short-term goal. Bobby is concerned Danielle has not said she loves him yet. Danielle wants to retire near a lake or an ocean where the grandkids would want to come visit.

Field Day
This week’s all cast event was a couples field day competition. Mia and Tristan decided not to participate so the other two couples will compete head to head. Dave and Amber win the first two events and Danielle and Bobby are frustrated. Danielle blames himself. Then Amber was unable to pick out her husband while blindfolded. It didn’t look like she touched him at all. Danielle could not identify her husband by touch either and chose the referee.
After the fun and games they talk about Tristan and Mia. Danielle says that Mia told her in addition to putting all of her stuff out, he took all of the photos off the wall and put them out too. Everyone seems to be on Mia’s side. Probably because they have not heard Tristan’s side.
Amber and Dave really loved their little Field Day trophy. They send a photo of their trophy to Danielle and Bobby.
Next week it’s time for the final trip. Despite taping for an hour and 36 minutes it cuts off on a shot of Tristan looking miserable again.
Thanks for the recap. I’ve tried recording this twice this week, but my husband keeps cancelling the DVR during the recording (is he trying to tell me something?). I didn’t see the field day portion.
Amber looks soooooooooo much better as a brunette!
I did manage to see the part where Mia and Tristan were counseled by Pastor Cal and was shocked when they made up.
I gotta say, since this is an 8 week experiment that more often ends in divorce, I totally understand any participant not wanting to move cities, change insurance, sell real real estate, change last names, etc. That stuff is a pain in the ass to do and can have major financial consequences (um, selling your place!).
I think we missed the “You won’t get paid for the whole season unless you stick it out” conversation
exactly, they surely got the whole “there are only ten days left,” Don’t lose your decision day bonus now speech.
I’m still rooting for Bobby and Danielle. I think they’re adorable.
Me too!!
I’m kind of sick of the ‘experts’ and the other couples insisting that there is something wrong with them because they aren’t fighting. I think they are one of the best matched since the first season, seem to roll with the punches easier, and are realistic about knowing relationships do have conflict and are sure theirs will have challenges as well. Even these bozos will eventually match the right people at some point or another. For a change, what you see is what you get with Bobby and Danielle.
What I see in Danielle and what Bobby is getting, is someone who is not emotionally attracted to Bobby and has no genuine emotions for him. She likes being waited on hand and foot and adored by someone who lets her walk all over him.
That’s what I see. YMMV.
This is what I see too…
I agree .
I find their interaction with each other has been unusual, especially the father’s comments to Tristan on the wedding day. Mia seems to be immature.
TT, thanks for the recap. I was wondering do you watch 90 Day Finance? I caught a glimpse of it last night and girl the drama on that show…lol😂😂😂😂
Anyway, Tristan and Mia just need to call it quits already. She’s been lying from the beginning, showing false emotions and just crazy!
I agree with you. Tristan and Mia dont belong together.
YES! I wish TT would watch & recap 90 Day Fiance. That show is an amazing train wreck every week!
Without a doubt, the colossal train wreck that is 90 Day Fiance is the best “reality” show on the air, now and forever. I’m almost ashamed to admit it, but I love it!! It makes Married at First Sight look like a walk in the park.
I think Danielle, hopefully will tell Bobby that she loves him on decision day. I think her expenses are too much for cosmetic appearances. I think women should be as natural appearance as possible. I also feel that fostering dogs should not be happening right now. I didn’t like that she paid alot of attention to the dogs before she went to Bobby.
It’s Amber who has the laundry list of products in her beauty routine. And serums and moisturizers do not have anything to do with looking natural, they all help in keeping your skin youthful and glowing. Makeup changes your look but skincare should be aa part of any womans health routine esp. sunscreen. Beautiful skin is NOT un-natural!! Who wants to look like a dried up old hag. I use tons of skincare and rarely wear makeup, once a month maybe,if going out.
Yeah, I noticed that too Catherine. She gave Bobby some attention but she showered the dogs with attention while Bobby followed her around like a little puppy.
In the beginning when they were going over finances, Danielle said how much she spends on grooming – eyebrows, eyelashes, wax, etc. The amount was considerable.
we need to give Tristan a break Mia has a screw loose some things just not right with her and I think Tristan has put up a lot with her she’s not truthful and she doesn’t want to move give it up turns done let her go get her out of your life start over I think her family is a little one-sided
You dont cancel your insurance without new insurance in place. That’s on Tristan. Plus packing up all her stuff is a big eff you. Hes the one playing the victim.
Of course you do when you are moving from one place to another. And he was TRYING to purchase the new insurance and she kept fucking around. THAT WAS THE WHOLE PROBLEM!
Mia did a very good job at playing victim this go round. You can see how she loves to be the victim. What she did was passive aggressive. I don’t think she has any intention on staying married and doesn’t want to move to Houston. She didn’t change the insurance and she told her family about Houston knowing they would freak out. Lord knows what other games she’s playing with Tristan. It’s terrible b/c it makes Tristan look like the bad guy when he’s reacting to her passive aggressive bullshit.
Amber looks much better as a brunette. I heard somewhere that she had just died her hair blond before going on the show. Even though she and Dave seem to be getting along better, I still think she’s a cookoo bird.
Amber does look so much better with her natural hair color. I agree she is flaky and insecure, but Dave is very critical and judgemental. Just what every closet case needs in her life. I really can’t blame Mia about being hesitant to move to Houston. Especially when they don’t even know if they are going to stay married after 8 weeks. This process is hard enough as it is but to move to a new city without any support from family or friends. Tristan has his family and friends though. At first, I thought Tristan got the shit end of the stick with Mia. Now, I don’t care for the real Tristan who is starting to peak through. He’s quick to blame her for everything.
So far, Bobby and Danielle seem to have the easiest relationship ever. They are more laid back, respectful, and willing to work together than all the other seasons after 1.
Can we talk about Danielle’s eyebrows???
