Sarah Palin’s son, Track Palin was arrested at his Wasilla home yesterday after police responded to a call regarding an incident between Track and a female acquaintance that occurred on Friday night. Track was accused of fourth degree domestic assault toward the unidentified female who told police that he hit her and tried to prevent her from reporting the assault by taking her phone.
As usual, Track allegedly resisted arrest and was combative with police according to reports.
Palin was arrested on misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree domestic-violence assault, interfering with the report of a domestic-violence crime, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Palin has a history of domestic violence arrests. He was arrested in 2016 for punching and kicking his girlfriend in the head. He also tried to prohibit her from calling the police according to the police reports. He was drunk and belligerent at the time of arrest and his girlfriend was found injured cowering under a bed after he was arrested. She claimed that Track had a gun and was threatening suicide.
Last December, he was allegedly drinking and on pain killers when he be broke into the family home and attacked his father. That case was moved to Anchorage’s Veterans Court, an alternative court program for veterans focused on rehabilitation, accountability and treatment, rather than jail time.
He’s being held without bail at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, the same place he was held during the 2016 case. It is unlikely that this case will be eligible for Anchorage’s Veterans Court as it appears he is not participating in the veterans court’s rehab program. The assault case against his father remains open and this arrest could cause it to be sent back to the Palmer court system.
Track’s sister Bristol will be joining the cast of Teen Mom OG this season.
I feel like this guy is escalating and sadly it will either end in a murder/suicide or suicide by cop.
Really Disturbing
The Veterans Court Program is an excellent program for vets started by Melissa Fitzgerald of West Wing fame. (She played CJ Creggs’ assistant Carol.) Track is showing he is not suitable for such an opportunity offered.
The program has shown tremendous success. Track is going to kill someone if he is not put into check.
He is still sort of involved with the Veterans program regarding his father’s case. That program seems to work a little bit like AA and I hope a fellow veteran is able to speak to him and convince him to accept the help he needs for his PTSD. It’s horrible that so many vets come back in this condition. My brother and my cousin served in Vietnam and when they came back they didn’t even acknowledge that those vets were suffering and things didn’t go so well.
Now that help is available, I hope Track will eventually accept it.
In awe of your compassion.
Well, if the girl he hit was my sister or my kid… I’d take him out behind the barn and shoot him. So there’s that.
Track entered the war so young and at its peak! Those poor young women. Going after his family? I think his mom called last time. He must take advantage of the program! 22 vets a day commit suicide or suicide by cop. I hope the Palins can push him to get help.
Yes. Of course.
Obviously he has a mental disorder, possibly PTSD. Hopefully he gets the help he needs and the victims and his family can heal from all of this.
As the grandmother of a young man with mental health problems who is currently in jail, I feel not only for the victims, but for him and his family. Obviously he has anger issues and needs treatment. My grandson is also escalating, but is not violent, and it’s proven impossible to get him the mental health referrals he needs. He won’t go volunarily and refuses to admit there’s anything wrong with him, so the only thing that would work would be court mandated, which doesn’t seem to happen. I hope Tripp not only faces punishment for his crimes, but also gets the help he needs – he comes from a wealthy family so I presume money wouldn’t be an issue in providing private care, as it would be for a lot of people.
Rose, I’m sure you worry about your grandson every day. You are not alone, but he probably feels as if he is. He is lucky to have you.
It’s true that crimes are committed by people with mental health or addiction problems, but I don’t believe these can be treated in our jails and prisons. We have to find a better way.
Thank you, Cara. I’m doing a lot better with him than I was – used to go literally broke trying to keep a roof over his head because his schizophrenia, and bizarre behavior made it impossible for him to stay with me, another relative, or even rent a room. Ended up on the streets for a few days then got arrested again, so in a way it’s a relief that he’s in jail. Don’t know what will happen when he gets out, but I’ve finally realized you definitely can’t help someone who won’t accept help. It’s such a pity that there aren’t stronger laws to help family and concerned friends to step in and force treatment. I’m going to write to his attorney and see if the court can make him go to mental health court, but that hasn’t worked so far. This was his fourth arrest this year, even though it’s obvious he has mental health problems, he still manages to get by with just a slap on the wrist each time. That’s why I see both sides of the story when it comes to someone like Track Palin. It’s often not as cut and dried as it seems. Sorry, Tamara, I know you don’t like this kind of comment, but at least it’s on topic.
Actually, I’m all for drawing attention to the failing mental healthcare system in this country. It’s broken and lots of people are dying because of that every day,
EnglishRise, you s day your family nemverz can write the judge in his case. Explain when his problems began, how you personally and the family had tried to get him help, what has happened to him, how he thinks and what help you are looking for.
Judges read letters they matter, it will not hurt to try. Ask other family members to write also.
Do not get together with family members to make letters sound the same.
Oops having problems with typing — you and your family members can write …
Thank you for the advice – I’ll need to find out if that is permissible under the California Code of Judicial Ethics. I know there are instances where such letters are turned away because they are considered ex parte communications. I’ll try to speak to his defense attorney and see what he says, and if it’s OK I’ll do just that.
I wonder if Sarah is still blaming Obama for her son beating people up. I remember when he was arrested in 2016 for beating up his girlfriend and Sarah said it’s because he has PTSD from being in Afghanistan. She claimed Obama didn’t offer any support for troops when they get home and their PTSD causes them to lash out at people. Whatever let’s the Palin’s sleeps at night.
All of that is true except for the part that it is ALL Obama’s fault. No presidents seem too interested in helping veterans returning from war. But hey! Trump thought about throwing a parade. So that’s something.
I guess this recent arrest is President Obama’s fault also since Sarah Palin always blames him instead having her son take responsibility for his actions.
Please tell us more about what Sarah Palin always does. I had no idea we had such an expert here. Are you her biographer or something?
Also, Obama did several positive things for veterans regarding job training but not much at all about the health care issues. Trump has signed a major 50+ billion dollar program for veterans health care . So yeah, perhaps Sarah is a bit distressed about health care for veterans under the eight years of Obama during the time Track returned from war. How smart of you to realize that.
No I’m not Sarah’s biographer I am only going by what Sarah has said out of her mouth the last couple of times her son was arrested. I am very smart thank you. I didn’t make it an Obama vs Trump, I just simply made a comment about something she has commented on. Now to educate you, the issues with Veterans have been an issue way before Obama, Bush, Trump, Reagan, Carter, etc. It is not a new issue but to blame Obama was a cop out. That was my point. It was not an Obama issue, it has been an issue with America since there have been wars and veterans. From medical care, to health care, to jobs, suicide, PTSD and to housing. It is the whole disrespect of this country for Veterans in general. Also the President does not make anything happen, they are just figure heads. The Senate and House(Congress) has the power to make real changes. So if the Senate and the House(Congress) is predominantly republican now of course they will vote along party lines with that asshole Trump. How dare you try to use his useless disrespectful ass to make a point. He is disrespectful to women, minorities and VETERANS. My family is a military family, my husband is a Veteran that actually was in combat(and doesn’t beat my ass and use it as an excuse) and my daughter is enlisted. There are a lot of issues Veterans face like I listed above but it was not a new problem under the Obama Administration was my point. Just one more thing Track Palin did not see any combat action even though he was Iraq he was not involved in any combat situations. That was investigated and talked about on all the news stations at that time of the first incident but I guess that was fake news. Plus Track Palin both went to Iraq and came home under the Bush administration. Moreover, blaming this kind of drunken abuse on PTSD both excuses the horrible problem of domestic abuse and misrepresents a disorder that many thousands of veterans actually suffer from. Basically, it was a ham-fisted attempt to deflect blame for her son’s crimes onto the President. I’m the first to admit that President Obama (like most of his predecessors) should have done more for veterans health and safety and hopefully in future Administrations Veterans are given their proper respect and help for protecting this country.
It’s beyond disgusting that you would belittle a veteran’s experiences while deployed on the Internet simply because you don’t like the politics of the mother. A years deployment to the warzone of Iraq is more than enough to cause PTSD. It’s disgraceful for you to suggest otherwise.
I find it vile that someone who claims to come from a military family would spend their days belittling other veterans.
Again here are the facts on Obama v, Trump and what Trump has done so for to fix the healthcare problem.
I imagine all vets are happy with help with the fucked up Veterans hospitals regardless of what political party the person who fixed it belongs to. Your final comment about veterans receiving the respect they deserve after crucifying a 23 year old’s service in the military is beyond hypocritical.
Now get the fuck out of here.
I have a very close friend who is dealing with a mentally ill spouse. It’s as painful (at times more imo) for family to be the supportive care to their loved ones. When a loved one is in jail and that’s a safe place? I’m thinking we have a long way to go in how we’re caring for anyone with a challenging mental illness.
You are a very loving, caring, supportive G-ma who recognizes you grandson needs help. Thank God he has you in his corner. I don’t have any real advice, sounds like you’ve learned the “system” the hard way and as we’re all learning from other significant problems around the country, things can vary in large state to state. I am sending a warm hug, another prayer for you and your family and a thank you for sharing something so troubling but needs to be talked about. TT’s site is truly a blessing.
Now, if we could all just do the “new” gestational/calendar “math” on one page I suspect we could find (or reinstate) a new planet in our solar system…we can do this! xxoo EnglishRose.
I meant this in reply to EnglishRose…
Whenever I read about repeated combative encounters with police, while weapons are in the home, resisting arrest, and whatnot, I can’t help but think how much different this would’ve gone had track palin not been white. It’s just the reality, people, especially men of color, don’t get that kind leeway.
Initially, I felt bad for him thinking obviously all his rage and woman beating must be PTSD induced, but who knows. If he didn’t see any combat, maybe he’s just rageful for other reasons. I have no clue, but the patience is wearing thin, he’s clearly NOT OK and this shit can’t continue.
Regardless of his personal situation, we absolutely must do better by our vets. They are not getting anywhere near the level of care they need and deserve, it’s shameful.
