Dave and Amber
Oh this is going to be good. Dave and Amber belonged to the same gym. On this episode they go to the gym as husband and wife. It’s a really nice gym. Amber goes to dance aerobics. Dave goes to the weight room. After dance class, Amber and two of her gym friends talk to Dave about their performance. Apparently, he watched the end of the class. She literally brought them over and now she is pissed that Dave is talking to the two girls. She is freaked out because they are brunettes. You know, just like her before she decided to ruin her hair with a crap dye job.
Dr, Jessica stops by to talk about communication. Dave brings up the incident at the gym with the “tall brunette” and Amber’s jealousy. She at first denies she was upset and then says it was because she was a tall brunette and more his type than she is. Dr. Jessica says, “Because of hair color?” She tries to downplay the hair color thing but that is all she ever talks about. Dr. Jessica talks about the hair dying conversation. The really long, extremely stupid hair color conversation. Dr. Jessica says that Amber looks to things to support her insecurities. Dave sees things he could improve on. I am not sure Amber does.
These to go to a ropes course. Dave is blindfolded and Amber has to lead him through the course. Dave doesn’t trust Amber and Amber laugh at his nervousness instead of reassuring him. Somehow they completed the task and they were both proud of themselves.
Oh no. They try to put a piece of IKEA furniture together. I’ve done this before with people I liked and it is still hard. Two hours in Dave brings out the shots. They decide to hire someone to do it.
Bobby and Danielle
It’s Bobby’s mom’s birthday so they gave her a wedding album of their wedding. Is that normal? Danielle and Bobby to say everything is perfect with them. For some reason Bobby is worried about decision day. Bobby’s mom says even when friends move in together there are arguments. She finds it odd there have been no squabbles at all.
Dr. Jessica comes to talk to them about communication. Of course Danielle tells us they don’t need any help with communication. Why? Because, say it with me…everything is perfect. On their video, Bobby gives a long heartfelt expression of his feelings for Danielle and ends by telling her he loves her for the first time. She reads with a creepy smile and “ummm hmmmm.” She says her family is not emotionally expressive and she has never been in a relationship when she needed to express her feelings. She says it’s hard to verbalize and wants to just write things down. Dr. Jessica says to write him love notes and then read them to him as a start to sharing her feelings out loud.
Danielle goes out with Bobby’s mom and sister and they ask if she wants to stay home with kids or work. She wants to work, but Bobby wants her to stay home and his mom and sister both stayed home. The next day, Danielle is going on a work trip. She is leaving all the dogs with Bobby. What does she do with them when he is not there? Bobby says he is going to miss her a 10 on a scale of 1-10. She says she will miss him making her coffee and she’ll miss the dogs. She says it is just four-day and it will go by fast. Her lack of verbalizing that she will miss him is not lost on Bobby. Then Danielle gets it and goes to write him a letter to read to him. She doesn’t read it. She just leaves it for him. Baby steps I guess. Tristan and Mia
The two are coasting along in a good place. Dr. Jessica is coming by to talk about communication. She has footage of their conflict to discuss their communication. Tristan realizes by saying he is done he is scaring Mia into thinking the relationship is over. Mia is shocked that she wasn’t communicating at all she just stands there. She says when her parents would yell at her, she would just check out. She is doing that again with Tristan. Tristan cries and needs a break from the conversation. For the first time on this show, I feel like the little communication lesson actually gave them information and tools to approve.
I see why Tristan and Mia were matched. Unfortunately, Mia had some really big secrets and told a few lies. To be fair, I don’t think she knew about the warrant for her arrest because they didn’t serve her out of state.
Tristan talks about moving to Houston to see how Mia is feeling. Mia says it will be an adventure and a fresh start. She is all in. They are optimistic.
Next week: The start planning their long term futures. Tristan and Mia have a huge fight. Dave and Amber disagree on retirement. I suppose things with Danielle are still perfect.
