After last week’s reunion episode, the Internet went berserk in a Carole versus Bethenny war. Y’all have been arguing all week in comments here where you left over five hundred comments (and growing). So it is a really bad time for WordPress to be hiccuping and causing the ads to make commenting difficult for some. A reminder, if you use Chrome as your browser on this site, you won’t have any issues. The issues primarily occur on Safari browsers. It’s also unfortunate that I’m not in the best headspace lately, so while I promise to do the best I can, don’t expect greatness on this recap. Reunions are the worst to recap because there is so much important dialogue because it’s nothing but arguing. And tonight the Carole and Bethenny war will continue to escalate. We will begin to see how Carole came to be fired with a quickness. Also my best source who knows about departing housewives says Bethenny saying she is the only housewife who has quit RHONY was entirely correct. Let’s get to this episode.
We start with Dorinda saying she has taken steps to get her drinking in check. She sees a therapist every two weeks and talks to her mom. This all sounds fine and dandy until Andy asks about her drunken behavior in Cartagena and her attacks on Luann and she adamantly denies being drunk. While Bethenny and Sonja both say she was drunk, when Bethenny points out that Ramona called her out for being drunk at the time in Colombia. Now Ramona has amnesia because she’s on “the dream team.” Then we get a clip of Ramona telling Dorinda she’s had enough to drink. Apparently, they didn’t show the Ramona clip at that time because she says that she thinks it was rude of Luann to tell Dorinda she was drinking too much. I don’t see how anyone can be on the “dream team” side when the playbacks clearly show what went down and they all look like hypocrites.
Dorinda is in total denial. Nothing she says makes sense. Dorinda says she was very sensitive to Luann and she was Luann’s best friend out of everyone in the group. And yet here she is throwing her under the bus again. Dorinda then goes for Sonja saying she is drunk all the time. I think Dorinda is drunk now. Dorinda says Luann is like family to her.
On to the terrible thing Luann did by not inviting John. Bethenny points out that Carole made sure that Dorinda brought the situation up to Lu right before she went on stage and then Dorinda proceeded to heckle Luann during her performance by screaming out “Jovani” eleventy billion times during Lu’s show. like a drunken fool. Dorinda says that she hopes she and Luann will make up. That said I believe she is still saying crap on social media.
Side note. The judge in Luann’s Palm Beach case signed off on her plea deal today. You can read about the details of that here.
LUANN WILL NOT SERVE ANY JAIL TIME OR HAVE A RECORD
It’s time for the Tinsley and Scott segment. Tinsley looks deeply unhappy over the topic. They are on again off/off again and he dates other people. Last I heard they were off again. They only seem to be on again when he is filming for the show. He also does Coupon Cabin ads with Tinsley and Carole and sometimes Dorinda. He’s an opportunist and not interested in her. At the reunion she claimed they were back together. Tinsley thinks she will marry Scott.
THE UP AND DOWN RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCOTT AND TINSLEY
I’m not a huge fan of the package about Luann and the discussion without her there, but it’s happening anyway. Bethenny said that she had been in close contact with Luann over her legal situation and she connected Luann to Dennis to help. What does Dennis have to do with helping with a legal situation? Andy brings up the lawsuit with her children. Dorinda asks if she has the feeling she can resolve the lawsuit with her kids. Bethenny says she can, she has spoken with Luann’s daughter. That said, that lawsuit was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Apparently, the reason that Lu got so drunk in Mexico last season was because Ramona told her a lot of things about Tom and Luann was worried that her daughter would find out.
Everyone knew she was drinking. Ramona says Lu was drunk in a bar with her three months ago. Bethenny and two of Luann’s friends held an intervention the Saturday before the reunion insisting she go to rehab. Luann calls them Charlies Angels they each had their own role in helping her get the help she needed. Bethenny was in charge of handling the Bravo in and the public statements, another researched the best rehab for her.
They all agree that Luann wants to be loved. She really loved being married to the Count. Everyone is very supportive of Luann. Ramona has no excuse for calling Tom trying to get an invite for her NYE party. Ramona says that her friend really wanted to go to the NYE party. Tom told her she wasn’t invited. Sonja was invited and didn’t go or respond.
Despite not all of the cabaret reviews being positive, everyone thinks Luann got a big head from the success of the cabaret. She thought her arrest made her more famous. Everyone seems to agree about Luann. Bethenny says Luann really wanted to be at the reunion and would want everyone to know that the situation with the family lawsuit will be rectified.
Time to get to the bottom of the Bethenny and Carole feud. Carole says her good friend in LA lost her husband and she spent most of the summer there. When she came back to NYC they went out to lunch. Bethenny says things felt very different to her because the previous summer they spent a lot of time together. Carole reminds her she was training for the marathon and ran a half marathon over the summer and had a lot going on. Bethenny says that she invited Carole to her house in Montauk for her birthday and she made he drop he off and pick her up and she was not invited in she had to wait outside when she went to pick her up. Carole says that she asked her friends to donate planes to Puerto Rico and did many supportive things. She says she has tons of texts about that. Bethenny says she would love to see them Carole says she can’t go through them all now.
Carole says she always shuts down negative comments people say to her about Bethenny. Bethenny says she does the same about Carole. Carole says she should have done the same when it came to Adam. Bethenny says she really thought they were done for good. She says when she found out they were still “having coffee, she retreated.”
Carole and Bethenny both read texts. It’s sad. They both seem to be trying to connect. At this point before taping started it’s like two hurt lovers who want to be back together. I’m not on either team at this point in their relationship. I’m rooting for both of them.
Then taping starts and we get both of then taking stabs at each other all season. Carole denies her role in that. And Carole was REALLY going in on Bethenny in her on her Bravo Blogs. I just got sick of purple penning them at some point. More of Carole’s Bethenny hate.
Bethenny wants examples of what she did to Carole during filming that was so bad. Carole says she was bullied. Bethenny asks for one example. Carole has to pull up her notes on her phone because she could not remember all of Bethenny’s bullying behavior. Carole comes up with Bethenny calling her “clingy” and Bethenny responds with “OMG, I called you clingy, are you going to be okay?” I agree not bullying, just and observation. Carole continues to say Bethenny is bullying her right now on the reunion. Nope. The bullies have been her and Dorinda and Ramona. Tinsley is very wisely staying out of this drama because she needs her check and she is not going to come after Bethenny.
Andy tries to move the segment on by telling Carole, “Okay so she called you a clingy girlfriend what else..” Carole says she called her unavailable. Bethenny is astounded as am I as to how this is bullying Carole. It is her perception of the friendship. She’s clingy and unavailable. I really don’t see how those two things go together. It was clearly based on two different events. Then she goes on to list other adjectives that Carole didn’t like. She says she is childless because her husband died. Even Bethenny didn’t go there, at least before the commercial break but Carole married her husband because he was dying of cancer so no they would not have had a kid.
Carole says that as far as she knows she and Bethenny have the same career. Really Carole? Are you now admitting that reality TV your career? Because it is not Bethenny’s she is the CEO of a multimillion dollar corporation. Carole is mad because Bethenny “age shamed” her by saying that she knows she wants to be forty-five but she needs to stop acting like a seven year old.
Bethenny lists some of the things Carole said about her sans notes. Bethenny is a narcissist (twice) the nutcracker situation was “a performance,” “this is a ‘narrative’ she creates, sociopaths do this,” and OMG this is toxic.
Carole says by the time she got to Cartagena she could not take it anymore. Bethenny wants to know why she was not a narcissist a year ago ( or in any of the years where she was paying for Carole’s vacations all the time–that’s me not Bethenny) how is she suddenly a narcissist this season? This is MY point and why I am team Bethenny. Carole had an entire wing up Bethenny’s ass for multiple seasons and was giggling right along with her when she came for everyone else on the cast. Which she did. And now suddenly Bethenny is mentally ill? No mam. You were vacationing on her dollar for multiple seasons. You were clinging to her status on the show like your life depended on it. And it did. So, by Carole!
Andy jumps in to read something for Carole’s nasty blogs,” In Bethenny’s myopic world, she’s the judge, jury and executioner, her narcissistic point of view doesn’t permit any dissenters she’s incapable of having a conversation where she isn’t in control of the entire narrative, hers and everyone else’s, regardless of the truth. She lies about us over and over and over until even we sometimes believe it. Bethenny should give a master class in gaslighting.” Carole keeps saying yes during his whole recitation.
Ramona squeals with glee like the pig she is. The Bethenny wants to know when Carole got her medical degree to diagnosis he with a mental illness. Carole seems unaware that narcissism is in fact a mental illness. Carole says no one needs a medical degree, they just need two eyes. Didn’t she have two eyes the last however many seasons? Did her eyes not work because she was lodged in Bethenny’s anal cavity?
Carole says that Bethenny was the one who said she didn’t have a career. Wow. Is that Carole’s real issue? As Bethenny points out Carole does not have a career. Or a boyfriend. Or a husband. Or a child. These are all facts. I don’t have a lot of those things either but I’m not mad about it. I’m retired and doing okay for myself. Financially I am a lot better off at this point except for the fact I can’t afford health insurance. Why is this such a touchy topic for Carole?
Lot’s of dramatic interchanges but Bethenny gets to the point. Let’s match our resumes in the CURRENT DECADE. Carole tries to pull the “female empowerment” card. Bethenny says if bashing someone every week on your blog is female empowerment… Carole interrupts.
Bethenny accuses Carole of bashing her every week on the show. Andy points out they bashed each other every week on the show then Carole denies bashing Bethenny.
Carole turns to Andy and says, (bleep) you’re full of shit Andy (/bleep). Bethenny is gleeful. I wish I had a shot of this moment when Bethenny realizes Carole is fired. Then Carole says to Andy, “Are you afraid of her too?” And at this moment Andy realizes Carole is done and says, “Yeah, I’m afraid of her.” If you weren’t watching you need to know he was pissed and not serious. Carole just Phaedra’d herself. It’s not often people get fired on the reunion, but Carole just did.
I hated seeing Carole and Bethenny’s friendship end.
God that was all so bad.

In my opinion, Bethenny is bitchy and opinionated and Carole probably hasn’t had many people call her out on her pretentious bullshit. Carole is very pretentious.

Given that Carole’s demise came about due to her war with Bethenny, I think it’s justified for Bethenny to be gleeful.
Bethenny enjoys the drama, the debate, the sarcasm. She’s a talker. She entertains with her words. And she loves a quick comeback.
She was gleeful about a former friend being fired. I could never be delighted in that, no matter what.
Also a month ago, knowing Carole was fired, she did a feature story for the business times saying that if any of the other women on the show was fired; they would be in financial duress. So she knew what the stakes were and the penalty and she enjoyed it.

That’s not exactly what Bethenny said in that magazine piece. She said that many of the housewives lived above their financial means, and said they needed that check from Bravo. Since y’all believe everything good for Carole, you should be comforted by the fact that those ‘what are they worth’ stories say she’s worth $50 million. I don’t see that as a fact and it was clear last night that she is very jealous of Bethenny’s success. She says on Twitter today that her book, Widow’s Guide, has been optioned. I wish her success.

I would take those, “what they’re worth” websites and stories with a huge grain of salt. They have people like Brandi worth $2 million. I suspect Carole is living off one if not several trusts set up in her late husbands name but his family did not have Kennedy money-not remotely close. Somebody wrote that $50 million dollar figure when she first appeared on the show and it stuck and now everybody writes it but there’s no credible source.
Those net worth sites are laughing all the way to the bank that people actually believe them. How on earth would they have any idea how much money private citizens have? NEWSFLASH. They do not. And people that believe those sites are less than smart.

This! I saw the Phaedra reunion…she made up a lie about Kandi drugging and raping…criminal stuff. I’m sorry but I don’t feel Carole was anywhere near the behavior of Phaedra. I’m not jumping on the Carole bashing bandwagon…she got frustrated this season bc Bethenny has to have it be all about her…I don’t always agree w Carole but Bethenny turned on her quickly and I’m not on Bethennys side either. Got sick of her smirky face at the reunion.
Bethenny did not turn on Carole quickly. In fact during the season we see Bethenny trying to find out why Carole was so cold to her and asking if they could repair their friendship to its former status. It was painful to watch Bethenny spill her guts to Carole about how she felt over the loss of the friendship, but all Carole could say is “I’m not a hugger”. Carole deserves to be fired. If her rift with Bethenny was over Adam, then Carole is not a “ride or die” friend unless she was referring to her friendship with Adam.
I think the rift started over the summer with Carole supporting her CA friend grieving the loss of her husband, and Carole not responding to nonsense texts about ramona. Carole also developed a light friendship with Tinsley, and that seemed to bother B.
Former HUGE fan of B, but I’m tired of her being toxic (she called herself that) and going after the cast, one by one.
It’s really sad that B and C aren’t friends during this painful time for B.

I like Bethenny and I can’t stand Carole and her superiority complex. Her fashion is atrocious. But I was on Carole’s side last night. I really think that the texts she sent were saying, can we talk about this later? I’m busy right now, and Bethenny couldn’t handle that because of her abandonment issues and she went to war.
Good point about the abandonment issues. Maybe that is what carol means by narcissistic. Carole needed to always be there for Bethanny – Jason, Divorce, custody, “homelessness” but Carole had to focus on another friend. Carole also then decided to have a goal and actually accomplish it and focused on that instead of Bethanny. This could be why Carol was different.
I really don’t like Carole. She is lazy, self centered and has a fragile ego about other women’s accomplishments while wanting hers to be celebrated such as Marathon memorabilia at the party Ramona threw.
But Bethanny would tire me out. She talks over everyone, is amazing cruel in her comments, cries constantly and has break downs on what appears to be every episode. So I can see the two of them splitting up. They really are opposites that may be attracted to each other for a while because they need what the other has. But eventually what they needed and were attracted to about the friendship becomes annoying.

I just about died when Betheny said that about comparing resumes this decade. And it’s really kind of true because it seems like Carol just kind of lives in the past. Carole was not a journalist. She was one of dozens of producers of news shows. Meaning she went with the camera crew, arranged hotels, made sure there was car service, coordinated for filing rights — a very mechanical job.
The few columns,ns she writes in mediocre magazines are piddling junk,. And her only moderately successful book sold because its about the KENNEDYS, and Carole is all about her passing 6 years with the KENNEDYS.
Ultimately, she is Carole diFalco.. Nothing more.
Listen I don’t like her but the woman has three Emmys, a Peabody and NY times best selling author awards sitting on on her shelf, let’s be honest. So to act as if she has done nothing is ridiculous. Carols book was not all about the kennedys! It was a touching tribute to her husband and the struggles they faced together. I loved the story…shared it with friends and family. I found it in the Kennedy section at my library. Her story was very honest. I saw compassion and strength in her. Read the book!

This reunion is brutal to watch- you are a saint for recapping it. All the yelling over each other makes listening difficult and stressful. Too much screaming to be enjoyable.
I did feel sorry for Carol when she mentioned Bethany pointing out that she had no children- and then Carol reminding her that she would most likely have kids if her husband had not died. Perhaps the loss of Dennis will soften Bethany’s heart regarding this topic.
Carole wrote in her book that she knew Anthony couldn’t have kids and that she never wanted kids anyway. Also, and more importantly, Bethenny didn’t say there was anything wrong with not having kids. Bethenny was only pointing out that her and Carole were in two different places … i.e., their lives are very different. No judgement was attached by Bethenny.
True, she and Anthony knew that he wasn’t able to father children, but she never said she didn’t want kids.
Had he lived, they may well have adopted or used a sperm donor or found some other solution.
Such a classy move on Bethenny’s part to remind Carole again that she was denied the opportunity, when she knows damn well the whole story.
It is not a character flaw to choose not to have children. Bethenny stating a fact and anyone interpreting it differently is adding their own nuances.
What Carole wrote in her book, more specifically, was that she never dreamed of having kids. Carole made it sound like she wanted kids during the reunion but it seems disingenuous with the intent to make herself look like a victim given her prior statements.

Bethenny consistently says things to people and about people knowing nuances will be interpreted. She does this on purpose so that she can later say “I didn’t say that”. Just like tweeting about her relationship with Dennis being “current” when he died. That word takes some of the reason for his wife’s grief away.
Revealing she was “current” with Dennis in no way takes away from Jill’s grief. You’re really reaching there.
Dennis’s wife Jill has had a very constant boy friend since se and Dennis separated.
He’s in many of her IG pictures featured with her children and other family His name is Howard something.

I think her sudden interest in athletics and marathon running was fueled by the sheer terror of her getting older and knowing young guys like Adam weren’t going to stay with her very long even if she rode on their bicycles and dressed like a 60’s hippie teenager.

I agree. You would have thought Carole was going to the Olympics. She had to talk about marathon training all the time. Why couldn’t she just train & run to be healthy. Yes she was stating facts. There are reasons why she was stating the facts. it wasn’t simply to say they are in two separate places. Yes, agree. In B’s defense, I don’t think she realized how she offended Carole was over going in on Adam, and then when she tried to walk it back, she couldn’t. Not being able to rekindle their friend connection, she grew more resentful and lashed out. Stewing. And then they each went to their battle stations and it was too late. But I think that’s overall an accurate picture of B. Her relationships do blow up as Carole said.
Agree. Bethenny’s lack of being able to be honest about herself is what I think really frustrates the rest of the cast.
I disagree for the most part – I think that B does understand herself and why she does/says things that come off as hurtful at the time after the fact. I’ve seen her apologize multiple times later for her actions and make amends. I think she lives a very busy life and a very stressful life since the whole Jason crap and she overreacts on the fly in the heat of the moment, then regrets it later, and tries to make amends. She and Ramona made nice in the pool last year, remember? And after at least two reunions, I do remember her stating that she didn’t even like herself after re-watching some of her behaviors and I do feel she’s tried to make amends. The girl is damaged from her childhood, yet many people even here expect her to somehow be a saint and have perfect reactions to every situation. I don’t think Bethenny was jealous nor missed Carole while she was gone over the summer either – she was busy with her hurricane relief efforts and was working tirelessly. I think it’s more a case of her feeling used when Carole used to take advantage of every free trip with B that she could have and I think B loved treating Carole to trips – then, it just seemed like this season, Carole completely flipped on B and it did leave B dazed and confused about what she genuinely thought was a very real friendship. Sadly, I don’t think there’s any coming back from the damage done in this friendship. Personally, Carole’s blogs this season were brutal, over-the-top, and cruel – if there is any “mean girl” on this show, Carole gets my vote and the way she acted right before the reunion Part 1 with her “Game on/I got your back and your back” was straight out of junior high school, which is NOT very becoming to a grown arse woman.
I am the last person to think a damaged person should be held to a different standard and believe they should be considered a saint. I am also the last person to use my status of surviving a horrific childhood as an excuse for bullying. There is only one reason for being on these shows and believing you are above the fray. Fame ho.
The stressful life Bethenny leads is of her own doing. She is master of being the perpetrator and then victim of what she oerpetrates.

Her cookbook with Adam failed to materialize because she couldn’t even write the beginning of it. She had trouble producing 500 words for Cosmo (which clearly was a favor from her friend the editor).
She never wanted to pursue any other work. Now that she doesn’t have Bravo’s income, maybe things have changed. I doubt it.

Publishing is like the music industry — if you don’t continue to produce readers move on to different authors. Her first book played on the Kennedy name. The truth is, Carole doesn’t need to work. That marriage made her a very rich girl and she was very loved by her husband. Of course, that would make Bethenny jealous on some level, but Carole’s career is really not as successful as Bethenny’s — unless you count her marriage as a career move.
Personally, I think Carole was damaged by Adam leaving her and a bit delusional about him wanting her back. I think she took some of that out on Bethenny.
Carole was not a journalist. She was one of dozens of producers of news shows. Meaning she went with the camera crew, arranged hotels, made sure there was car service, coordinated for filing rights — a very mechanical job.
The few columns,ns she writes in mediocre magazines are piddling junk,. And her only moderately successful book sold because its about the KENNEDYS, and Carole is all about her passing 6 years with the KENNEDYS.

I do feel that Bethenny can be hypocritical but that can be said of all these women except maybe Sonya. Dorinda makes horrible comments to her very good friend. He has said in his books and show multiple times that he’s known her since the 1990’s and she is the only housewife he invites to his parties. This is not true. Carole said on Twitter just today/last night that she and Andy were not friends before the show. They had a few mutual friends and occasionally crossed paths but they were not friends. I also don’t believe she she went to Andy’s Christmas party.
Lu alternatively went on and on about how Carole, “stole” Adam from her niece, he was the, “help” and she was, “robbing the cradle”. She talked about it on the show and in interviews and tweeted about it. She talked FAR more smack than Carole who had a right to defend herself and Adam. (especially since Lu loves the men & isn’t particular about their age) Lu was still in her snobby stage then. Watch the shows again, Lu started the whole thing.
Sad to see B and C friendship end. B is abrasive and over direct at times but she is also clear, articulate and evidence based in her recall of events. I respect the fact she hustles and is an effective do-er. I realy believe that many of these women are jealous of her acumen and accomplishments in the present. B’s efforts – not just financial, but giving time and money and sleep – in Puerto Rico makes it very difficult for me to bag on her. Fact is, her clarity and energy explains her effectiveness. I’m not sure what “lies” she has told. The fact is, Carole did not make a good vase for herself at all and B has mostly championed her in seasons past. If Carole did not agree with or like B’s perception of Adam, then work it out with B. I just don’t get the hate. Ramona is a joke with her female empowerment bullshit. Evidence – season 1-now. Dorinda keeps score and is a rageful drunk. I think she needs a purpose. I personally think that R, D and C just feel resentful of B’s productivity. She gets shit done. If something doesn’t work, she moves on. I also do not understand why Carole needed relentless accolades for her marathon. That was a personal goal. She achieved it. Congrats and what else do you need? At that time, B was helping people who had no power, no homes, no medical care… people who have lost everything. Did Carole need a parade or something? It’s sad because I liked C in the past and liked them together. I felt that Bethenny did respect Carole’s journalism career. Andy and Carole’s friendship is kaput too. Carol did not marry her husband because he had cancer. He was diagnosed shortly after they were married. That’s pretty awful to say that’s the reason she married him. And Bethany took a low blow saying she has no husband or kids and later talking about her husband being dead. That’s not a good friend.

And yes, Carole said to Beth that she likes relationships with end dates. That she can not commit to long term affairs, so I do not think that Tamara is off on this statement. Carole knew that her marriage was not forever, and if she had wanted children with her husband they had time to have them. Also, many docs will suggest banking sperm to cancer patients who may loose their fertility due to cancer treatments. They did this with the husband of my dear friend, 30 years ago. Her boys, who are now in their 20s, were conceived the old fashioned way. Seems to me that Carole started this war with Beth, just as Jill did many years ago. History has repeated itself.

I found something in People magazine saying the same. He had cancer before they got married just like Tamara said.
I seriously think it is amazingly insulting to say that Carole married her husband because the relationship had an end date. She loved him they lived together. Maybe they talked about getting engaged. When he found out he had cancer again they decided to get engaged and married. They may have known there was an end date but marrying someone you know is going to die and enjoying what time you have left with him is love.
The are so many instances to insult Carole for any of her many horrible behaviors but this angle is really weird.

I wonder if Bethenny has gotten too used to paid employees. It appears she has several employees in her apartment at least a large portion of the day. She has the chauffeur and probably a nanny. Then she has all the people in her office and probably a few people who work at her house. A person can get used to hearing, “yes” all the time and a, “no” just starts to sound wrong. That’s what I think when I hear the two of them talking sometimes. Carole went from a yes person to saying no more often. I don’t think it went over well.

I agree also. It makes me really sad for Bethenny. I think she trusted Carole like she trusted Jill and felt blindsided and bewildered. She’s put too much faith in their friendship and it kind of wrecked her a bit.

As a woman who is single and childless, I have found myself saying the exact opposite of what Bethenny said about Carole. I never meant it as a slight but only as a reason as to why I didn’t have things in common with other women my age who are married with children. We’re in completely different head spaces for the most part. They have responsibilities I don’t have. I don’t believe Bethenny was slamming Carole with what she said. She was merely stating fact.
Yeah, I’m with you – I’ve said to my best friends when they have expressed guilt over not being able to do something with me, etc. that I understand that they have a demand on their time that I do not and I expect nothing less than my honorary nieces and nephews being their priorities!

I was surprised at first by how Bethenny opened up to Carole in the Home Goods store, but Carole is a good listener, and Bethenny respected Carole. Bethenny did NOT respect the other castmates.
I interpreted Bethenny’s comments about Carole’s childlessness and (lack of) career not as a slam against Carole, but a truthful observation about Carole’s limits in understanding what Bethenny was going through. Having been been on both sides of this fence, I get what Bethenny was saying. There is a big difference between observing someone’s stress vs. having actually walked in their shoes.
I think Bethenny likes to TELL us all how much she owns her short-comings but I don’t see it. Like most people I see her repeating the same behaviors over and over again. Self-depreciating humor doesn’t mean you, “get it”. I wish it did, I’d be a mental giant. God forbid someone should point out a short-coming, “I know this already!! I don’t have to listen” But she feels free to pick and pick at her cast mates.
I’m also tired of the self-appointed aribiter of truth routine. It’s her perspective and it’s subjective. She’s hardly objective when it comes to herself or she has a vested interest in the argument. It was like when Brandi called herself, “the truth cannon”. It was BS. I think Bethenny has a lot more credibility than Brandi but I still think it’s the same thing; they each would present their subjective version of the truth.

She has truer answers than most, more direct and honest. She is not the best at choosing male companions for long term relationships, but who on this show is? What, exactly makes you find her to be more unstable than any of the other women we see in this franchise?

I’m just asking for a few specific examples of when you believe Bethanny came unhinged on camera. Generalities lead me to believe you just don’t like Bethanny and therefore you’re painting her as a crazy lady. I don’t see it. Carole on the other hand has an eye roll like no other. It’s entitled, dismissive and downright cold. That’s a specific reason I find her to be poor friend material because she waits until she’s totally pissed off at everything, not caring enough to address issues as they arise, then dumps that friend because of her own poor communication skills.

Such a needy woman I hope she gets help for whatever emptiness she feels inside. I listen to it off and on over the years. Sometimes it reminds me to not get into that “contest”, and then at times remind myself that if I’m upset or having a hard time it is ok to admit it rather than ignore my own feelings with “others have it worse” like I don’t have a right to be upset, etc.
I also think it’s really funny that Carole, who prides herself on being a serious journalist who worked in war zones and covers “real” news, is now writing fluff pieces for a fashion mag. And she still can’t come up with anything or meet a deadline.

Speaking of respectful, it was in poor taste showing Mr. Shields at the end of the show. He was not part of the cast and only appeared once. The Shields family requested privacy during this time and Bethenny should of been respectful enough to comply with their wishes. In the scheme of things he was only her on/off boyfriend.

Dennis had passed only minutes before Jill was posting as his “widow.” I know others disagree, but while still legally married, Dennis had clearly moved on and chosen Bethenny to spend his life with.
Carol had no business making the funeral all about reinstating her position as Mrs. Shields and trying to shut out Bethenny.
Jill had also moved on and was dating someone else. Jill and Dennis were still very close.
If Dennis had chosen Bethenny as his life partner then why did she say in this season that he was clearly not a life partner?

I think Carole and Bethenny talked about it on the show a season or two ago. They were discussing Carole’s commitment issues and Bethenny said (paraphrasing) “Do you think you married your husband because he had cancer and you knew the marriage wasn’t permanent” and Carole said she thinks so.
You are correct. Two years ago Carole was at Bethenny’s apartment and said she thought she committed to Anthony because she knew he had cancer.

My favorite scenes this season were when Bethenny and Sonya were alone. While Dorinda was roaming around the hotel in a drunken rage; and Carole was complaining that no one but Tinsley was there for her marathon but insists Bethenny is the narcissist, and Ramona was bossing around the staff and pooping on the floor…. Bethenny and Sonya were together giggling lightheartedly about the madness of it all. Reality gold.

I so agree. When you have kids it’s so much different than when you didn’t have kids. Your life is not free and easy anymore. You have big responsibilities. Not saying it’s bad to not have kids or wrong to not have kids. Everyone should decide for themselves. Saying someone does not have kids is not shaming them it’s just stating a fact. It means she doesn’t have that responsibility. She may have tons of other responsibilities. Which by looking at Carol she doesn’t seem to have. She doesn’t act like she likes to work. I don’t see how Bethenny and Carol were friends to begin with since they are so different. Carol seems lazy and unmotivated and Bethenny is a workaholic who has a strong work ethic.

Luanne mentioning that Carole was childless two or three seasons ago was so mean it took my breath away. Literally. But Bethenny’s comment during the season about Carole not having kids and no busy career was more about why she couldn’t hang with Carole the way she wants people to hang with her – why Bethenny couldn’t just pop in for the marathon, etc.
I’m a single, never been married, childless 40 something year old. My two best friends are mothers. I UNDERSTAND WHAT BETHENNY WAS SAYING. Because they are married with kids, I go on the backburner in terms of things to do, etc. (the one with one kid – travels with me at times like B did with Carole. )
Honestly, there are events and things that they don’t have the time to involve themselves in. I probably know more about what is going on with the kiddos and their lives than they do mine sometimes. I get to do craft classes when they are paying for sports, college applications, etc. That is ok. If I was running a marathon, I would be thrilled to pieces if they were at the finish line or along the race course, but I would NOT be upset if they weren’t there that day. for fuck’s sake.

Carole’s “evidence” of Bethenny’s duplicity was really weak tea. Sure Bethenny can be controlling but she owns it. What solidified my Team B membership was her very salient point that Carole had no issues with B’s rough edges in prior seasons. All of the sudden it becomes a death knell for their friendship now? Carole had no real answer for that. Oh yeah, “it had crossed her mind” ? back then but I guess the free trips around the world overrode Carole’s internal concerns?

On her trips to the Hamptons (in the summer; not during filming season), she stayed at Bethenny’s home. There were pictures on social media. Carole didn’t have to rent a pricey home in the Hamptons.
I can’t remember exactly what the context was, but Bethenny mentioned taking to Europe last summer (2017), which implies the air travel at least, and probably the hotel as well.
So it’s Bethenny saying Carole went on free trips?
They went to the Galapagos together. I seem to remember on the radio that it was implied that if Bethenny didn’t pay for all of it, she certainly did a lot of upgrading on her own dime. Both of them were on the air.
Bethanny said she took them on the trips. Carol said she paid her own way. It sounds like when Jill said that she gave Bethanny a home when Bethanny stayed with her for the summer.
Carole actually thanked Bethenny on camera for taking her to Galapogos and then later claimed she paid her way.
Neither is innocent- they were both vindictive and mean at the end of the season. At the beginning of the season though, Bethenny is very much after Carole. Carole is still friendly, goes directly to Bethenny to ask about the puppet comment … Bethenny denied (but admits in talking head that was her implication). The comment that really struck me was when Bethenny said “She’s going through a later life crisis.” That’s not a usual expression- that was said with the intent to belittle and shame. Remember talking heads are filmed after the fact, so that skews the timeline for viewers somewhat.

In the first episode, Bethanny has an event and doesn’t invite Carole but invites Tinsley instead, commenting that Carol and her are in a different type of space during the testimonial.. Then Carole has an event and invites Bethanny.
Carole doesn’t start making her own comments until a few episodes in. Since they record these testimonials every week to keep feelings and comments fresh, it leads me to think Carole didn’t know what was happening right away. After she finds out that Bethanny is talking behind her back to everyone about ow Carole didn’t contribute, doesn’t care about her charity, is superficial with selfies, etc., then Carole starts with the nasty comments
This is why I always felt Bethanny was gunning for Carole from the beginning without Carole really understanding what was happening. Very similar to the Jill/Bethanny fight.

The bully is Dorinda. Telling Sonja to”Shut Up” in a vile angry tone and telling Bethenny to “Watch out” when she was asked if she thought Dorinda had a drinking problem. There have also been a few “you better watch yourself ” in a very hostile tone. Bethenny has never come close to Dorinda’s bullying.
I just think it is bizarre that people keep calling Carole classy on Twitter. I don’t care for Andy C but he is her boss. No matter how frustrated I get, I would never POP OFF to my BOSS like that, especially on national TV….#déclassé #keepitreal

If you don’t want to believe she was trying to take Bethenny down during the show, her continued tweets and IG posts — which have been nonstop — should be evidence enough.
Most of those twitter accounts are probably shells made my her own media consultant. I’m not curious enough to click on the various ones to see if they’ve had a long history, but a tell-tale sign would be if the positive posters don’t have posts on their twitter accounts about a variety of subjects. Normally an address will cover several topics.
It was a good recap, and I completely agree with TT that I’m rooting for B and Carole to make up. I have to say, this episode made me see Carole’s point of view more. I could do without Carole’s nasty eye roll about Lu, but she made many salient points. She is, however, delusional if she equates their careers. As B said, let’s talk about this past decade and not the 90s. Still, the female empowerment argument Carole made, she was right. But did anyone else see Carole, not reigned in by the confines of her contract, sparring with folks on twitter. And she was really nasty about it, too. Didn’t speak well of her. But clearly, we don’t know the real truth of what was said. Neither is telling how much B went in on Adam, which clearly Carole is very in love with him and she got pissed. I think that made her view their relationship in a in a different prism and she was over B. I don’t see them ever mending, Dennis would’ve been that opening, and Carole clearly slammed the door in B’s face. Speaking of delusional, Dorinda is completely in an alternate reality about her drinking. She gets nasty and defensive and remember other seasons where folks talked about how much she and John were out of control in public. Ramona’s story of how she got to Tom’s party isn’t ludicrous. She was awful and reveling in every drop of everything Tom did wrong to make Lu miserable. She loved every minute of it. And wouldn’t we love to know what she told Lu. I was trying to element that trip to Mexico, I think it was right after Lu got married. That was never a normal relationship and question is why she settled for so little with Tom. Speaking of settling, Tinsley. I like her and think she’s sweet. She’s also delusional. Scott should be thrilled to have such a pretty girl, and clearly he doesn’t really love her. She’s offered to move to Chicago. No man who loves you would let his “business” get in the way. He’s never going to marry her and if he does, it will not end well. She needs to move on quickly. Carole got too comfortable with Andy from her long friendship with him to yell at him. Likely sealed her fate along with his siding with B, who is the star of the show of course. Sonja is hilariously the voice of reason.
I love this show and it will be interesting to see what happens next season. I hope everyone stays and add Jill. I hope they don’t ruin it like they did wth OC. OC partly ruined because Vicki was revealed with that whole Brooks thing. I can’t watch the show since. I hope they don’t change anything else here, but I guess Carole had to go because of how venomous that relationship with B got.
I never really thought about it because we see that Bethanny said that Adam was an operator calmly in her testimonials. But if I try to picture the conversation that ended their friendship based on their behaviors from the past, I see it like this:

I can imagine when Bethanny was speaking to Carole over the phone about Adam, that Bethanny was talking really fast, as she does, and saying pretty nasty things about Adam. Carole was probably shocked and sat with her mouth open as she tends to be slow to react. Bethanny could not see Carole’s reaction and took the silence as listening or possibly agreement, and kept talking, saying more nasty things.
If they had the conversation in person, Bethanny probably would have stopped immediately upon seeing Carole’s face, as she has done in other instances, apologized and then Carole would have been able to forgive her or move past it. (Though she is horrible at letting something go, so who knows?)

Carole has really shown herself this season, especially on social media. She is like a dog with a bone and won’t let it go. She’s always saying about female empowerment then drags Luann about her behaviour because everyone is calling out Dorinda. She rolled her eyes when Andy said something positive came out of Luann’s bad situation re cabaret. She was livid when Dorinda eventually agreed she was badgering Luann at the cabaret. She won’t let up on Bethenny at all on her Twitter and she claims to have loved Bethenny but can’t lay off while shes grieving and prioritise what’s really important. She certainly has an issue with her age, that whole age shame thing is bollocks and she has issue with Bethenny being taken more serious than her when it comes to world issues. She’s came across as a bitter individual with a lot of ego and anger. She actually called herself just a princess on Twitter yesterday.
Have never seen any other hw cuss at Andy. Carole seems to really think highly of herself, she talks down to Bethenny es a lot this season..& acts as if she just deserves princess treatment, imo she takes advantage of frienda..Bethenny isnt perfect, but Carole ignored how Bethenny was so upset over their friendship eroding, and I was so sick of her hate-filled blogs, those were toxic!

Here’s what I don’t understand Carole has had a career. When Bethenny was scraping by trying to make it. To take a jab at here about not having anything current?? Guess what she is on the same show as you Bethenny. That would count as current.I was never a fan of Carole but I will side with her on this one. Andy likes Bethenny because she will bring it for the show. I’m sorry she aged shamed her. Why is it so wrong for a women to try and look wrong. Tinsley is so desperate and sad, she’s got real emotional problems and she is not in the spotlight against the height of everyone’s drama for anyone to notice or care. Timebomb there..
Tinsley has a bog problem. Her family was broke (oriental rug cleaning business and a failed small real estate venture) but in small town Richmond where she had “heritage” but no money. The mother raised the girls to be courtesans, like mere Richard raised Katrhy, Kyle etc., so Tinsley thought she had the golden ring with Tipper and she lost it. She only chases money, not love, because her life is empty and she desperately needs the status her family had lost.
Bethenny has been at odds with ALL these woman on the cast–including her paid companion this season, Sonja. She’s a guttersnipe. Too many people can’t be wrong about her-she’s evil. I imagine she made Jason’s life Hell. “When 12 people say your dead, it’s time to lay down”…Lol

I agree. Bethenny is the only genuinely compassionate one in the bunch. She loves hard and she loves deep. She’s the only one I’d trust as well, flaws and all.
Sonja can be a little cruel, but in a very circumvent way. She told Dorinda that Tinsley didn’t pay for the gift certificate; that Scott did. Tinsley denied this bet never got upset enough for it to be a big dramatic story.
She also planted stories about Tinsley not being a grateful guest when she stayed with Sonja.
Sonja also either called Dorinda fat or told Dorinda someone else called her fat. I can’t remember exactly how it went, but Sonja was putting a criticism over weight into Dorinda’s head.
She left all of the ladies waiting outside in the cold instead of letting them come into her home to wait for her a few seasons back.
Dorinda! I want to talk about the fact that she states “she was NOT drunk” when she went for Luann. My God- I would lie and say I was blind smashed, IF the alternative was to defend my behavior! How can she condone the vile shit that came out of her mouth? So Dorinda, it was OK for you to attack, and break a glassb? Making everyone comment on Luanne’s judging, deflects from Dorinda’s beyond defendable actions.

And when LuAnn looked at Dorinda and said “She’s startin” — it was a warning between the 2 of them, bc Dorinda does seem to have a Dr. Jeckyll/Mrs. Hyde thing going on— and that in no way deserved Dorinda’s over the top breaking of glass and vicious verbal attacks. Mrs. Hyde leaped out of hiding again.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Bethenny is not the one who has changed. She is the same person she was in season one. Her bank account has changed but she hasn’t. She tells it like it is, there is no gray area with her.
Well she and Brandi Glanville have a lot in common. Just because Bethenny tells it like it is doesn’t mean she’s right.
Bethenny will admit when she is wrong though. She will fight tooth and nail when she is right. Kind of goes with her tagline from a season or so back with the “If you come for this B you better not miss”
Bethenny and Carole were always my favorite ‘housewives’ but this feud is just so draining. I don’t know what has gotten into Carole. She was always reasonable and logical and has turned into a rage-filled monster. Can it be menopause? That might explain it. I am really sorry to see the demise of their friendship. I hope that the next reunion episode switches to another topic.

Noel is Luann’s son. I thought it was odd that Luann is always very concerned what he thinks. I’m guessing he didn’t like Tom and probably warned her a billion times and she didn’t listen and was afraid of what he thought. I couldn’t believe no one wanted to call out Dorinda and her abusive behavior when she is drunk. Sonja has been on the receiving end of that many times and she didn’t even say much. When Dorinda feels slighted she is very very cruel and definitely has a problem. I was shocked when Carol said that to Andy especially because him and Carol were pretty close at one time. I wonder who the new girl will be to replace Carol.

I think some of Carols vitriol stems from Hilary losing the 2016 election. I honestly think she became unhinged when her candidate lost. I totally agree. Being in the field of substance abuse for nearly 12 years, we are taught to assess appearance and behavior, even befor the urinalysis results are in. When the results come back, we are to check our assessment againts the results, and dang if we are not right 99% of the time. Dorinds is a frequent coke user, no doubt about it. I believe she uses Adderal also. Her behaviors, appearance and denials attest to it. Also, substance abusers frequently parse their words, and perhaps she WASN,T drunk when she sat down with Luann; but she was definately already high.

With that, I think Carol did actually come out with some good jabs and after watching this, I sadly agree with the others that the friendship is done.
I really would have liked to hear them talk about what happened in the summer that began the demise of their friendship. We never heard anything on the show about Carol excluding B from dinner in LA nor inviting her in after dinner in the Hamptons. I think the insults started flying and subject got changed

In reference to B calling Carol childless, that was not a dig but a fact as to what their differences were. The career thing on the other hand was B going Carol’s Achilles heel. Carol is proud of her career, but no it is not current, and that was meant as a jab by B.
I don’t think Carol’s comments to Andy were all that bad because let’s face it, when B decides she is doesn’t like you she is scary. Just ask Jill and Kelly, who both became social pariahs after B was finished with them.
I don’t know when this show went so downhill. Was it when Bethenny came back? I remember in the past where the ladies would disagree with each other, but it never reached the level of venom and pure hatred that we have now. I don’t enjoy watching it at all, in fact, even reading the recap makes me feel anxious and upset.
I will be one of the people who will miss Carole. I don’t think she’s naturally a mean girl, which Bethenny seems to be, but I do think Carole reaches a stage where she gets so angry at what’s being said that her temper gets the best of her. I can relate to that. I am normally a very mild-mannered, pleasant person, but on the very rare occasion when my sense of outrage reaches a boiling point, things come out of my mouth that sometimes surprise me. I think there must have been a really foul-mouthed sea captain way back in my British DNA somewhere. Anyway, as I said, I don’t think it’s second nature for Carole to fight back like she has, but her boiling point has been reached.
I’m really hoping that the show gets its focus back.. I don’t want to hear people screeching at each other over stupid details, nor do I want to watch people who seem to have all the advantages in the world screwing up so badly. It’s stressful to watch and who, in their right mind, voluntarily brings stress into his or her life?
I mostly agree with you. This season was uncomfortable to watch. I liked Carole a lot when she was new, she was fresh and I enjoyed her sarcastic view of the show. But she changed. The controversies she had with Aviva and LuAnn are not unlike the one she has had with Bethenny. She just can’t let things go and began to take herself too seriously. As a whole, she is not good TV. Often we have seen a new housewife morph into the character they perceive themselves to be on the show, or begin to believe all of the positive fan perceptions. Either way Carole is not the same as she was in her first season.
Like her or not, Bethenny is the best of the Real Housewives. She takes us into her personal life and shares it all, including the warts. She doesn’t pretend to be any different than what we see on TV. I’m sorry Carole didn’t work out, and I’m sorry to have witnessed the end of their friendship, but this franchise will be better without Carole.

Here’s the thing–Bethenny wanted to repair the friendship, but Carole was having none of it. Carole has no one to blame but herself for the way things turned out. Now I have to say that Bethenny is mean spirited at times, but she doesn’t discriminate with her meanness if you’re in her firing line. I’m sure Bethenny started to think Carole just used her. Carole was happy to go on many trips with Bethenny paying for everything. And then Carole blew her off. I’d be infuriated.
Something has made Carole very angry–maybe it’s the Trump thing. Her face was in a permanent scowl during the reunion–not a good look!
Carole spent the summer with her friend who had just lost her husband. This same friend also has a 3yo son, so imagine what it was like for her. Bethenny saw a “shift” because Carole prioritized this friend over Bethenny. Bethenny is beyond petty. Carole asked her multiple times what the issue was and Bethenny never told her. What isn’t a good look is being unable to let a friend support another friend because you’re so lonely and insecure. Bethenny needs a hobby.
The last thing she needs is a hobby – frankly, I think Carole needs a better one. She has a lot of time on her hands (and now more time than ever!)
First we even heard of the friend was the reunion. If this was the real reason, it would have been resolved by the fact that Carole was back in NYC over the winter.

The three witches from Macbeth, the three hag fates passing the eyeball, and Carole, Dorinda and Ramona passing their hits on Bethenny. They were the thug girls taking turns jumping the pretty, lone, smart girl who dares to stand up for herself verbally. Their behavior disgusted me as did their lies. Ramona saying Dorinda was not drunk at the table in Columbia, despite the footage, Dorinda denying she needs rehab or that her “Jovani” was hecking LuAnn, while telling Sonja to “shut her mouth”, and Carole, lying about her constant bashing and excluding of Bethenny – we saw her exclude Bethenny at breakfast in the Hamptons. I particularly abhore Carole falsely accusing Bethenny of gaslighting when gaslighting and psychoattacking Bethenny is the core of Carole’s ammo. Bethenny only states facts. And yes Carole’s day to day concerns are very different and much less demanding than Bethenny’s. All three of those intensely jealous and ugly bullies should be fired, imo. Bring in the new.

It is shocking to me how stupid people on when reflecting on this drama. What you’ve managed to eliminate from this “recap” is that Bethenny saw a “shift” in their relationship when, last summer, Carole spent the entire summer in LA and Montauk with her friend who had just lost her husband. This friend also has a 3yo son, so that adds another layer of sadness to that scenario. Bethenny didn’t like that Carole prioritized this friend over her. DOES EVERYONE NOT SEE HOW SELFISH AND ARROGANT THIS IS?! Carole tried multiple times to get to the root of this “shift” that Bethenny was telling everyone else about BUT Carole. What a great friend! She then proceeded to “punish” Carole a la Jill Season 3, and this is okay because Bethenny is the constant victim?! When Carole said Bethenny should lead a course in gaslighting, she was dead on. Bethenny couldn’t handle that Carole had to show up for another friend and she couldn’t be up Bethenny’s ass. What ensued, and was absolutely painful to watch, was ridiculous and 100% because Bethenny is a brat who cannot express her feelings like an adult. She can hurl insults, but she couldn’t simply say “Carole, I got the impression you didn’t want me around because you spent all summer with Cassandra.” Then Carole would’ve said “Cassandra just lost her husband, I needed to be there for her but I made sure we also spent time together (which she did, and Bethenny didn’t deny when it was brought up.).” That would’ve been the end of it. But alas, Bethenny needed this storyline and she knew she had her gaslit moronic fans who would fuel the fire. Poor Bethenny, the over scheduled Skinnygirl who pretends to give a shit about being a mother yet would rather film RHONY and dump her child with her assistant than actually have any involvement in her daughter’s life unless she needs a few Instagram stories.

I agree with everything you said except on Brynn. Carole spelled it out all season on their problems but people were too busy hating her to listen. Everyone brings up Adam as the cause only because they see him on the show. Bethenny was nasty to him and Carole probably was mad. Carole said Bethenny runs hot and cold. Yes, their problems IMO was Carole was helping a widowed friend and Bethenny got jealous. Got to admit Bethenny ‘s texts got creepy: crying, I love you, you don’t like me anymore, text blasts. Give Carole a break. Bethenny even admitted she’s a lot.
This was hard to watch. Something happened between the two of them. I literally hated Bethenny (after liking her) before this season and now this season I am totally Team Bethenny. That’s quite a feat Carole pulled off — getting ppl to take Bethenny’s side, pissing off Andy, and getting yourself fired.
Here’s the deal, imho – Carole is dishonest. Love her or hate her, Bethenny is honest. Carole never really said why she was so fcking livid with Bethenny. It’s in every confessional and on every blog.

Kate, I think Carole was beyond livid over the phone call from Bethenny about Adam. I believe it struck her independent, feminist self a deep blow. How dare Bethenny insinuate she is stupid enough to fall for an operator. Remember when Carole stated on WWHL live that it was “soooo misogynist” for Bethenny to say she was sad over a boy. Instead of admitting the real reason she was furious with Bethenny (maybe even too blind to admit it to herself), Carole began picking at all of her faults and a mission to cast Bethenny in the worst light possible.

I have no idea. The more Carole explains herself the worse she looks. Someone close to her should have convinced her to let the Bethenny conflict go a long time ago. Had Carole simply made her point of not enjoying being Bethenny’s friend anymore, that she was “too much” and it was time to move on, 95% of the fan base would have supported her. Probably more than half would have cheered her decision. Even now, 8 months after filming ended and 2 months after the reunion, Carole is still hitting Bethenny hard on social media. Carole should really stop looking back before she wrecks any potential career she might have.

I’ve been watching and waiting all season for an answer to why Carol was SO pissed at Bethenny because I just was not seeing it. Carols blogs were just incredibly vicious and cruel and as the season went on she was shit talking the hell out Bethenny behind her back. Did Bethenny get snarky? Of course she did……….that is who she is and has always been.
Cut to the reunion…. finally we’ll get and answer right? Then everything she complained about were statements/observations taken out of context. There was absolutely nothing that deserved her venom, nothing. Looks like to me Carol came into the season with an agenda to take Bethenny down so no matter what she said or didn’t say was going to be an excuse to crucify her.
Seems the Adam thing really go under Carols skin but like everything else she blew it totally out of proportion. Bethenny had her people call Adam to find out if he wanted to join her in Texas to film with the relief effort. Something he had done several times in the past and Bethenny thought he would jump at it not just because it would be a nice thing to do but also it would beef up his resume. So far I’m not seeing a problem……hmmm It gets back to Bethenny that he wants to get paid and Bethenny is surprised and it “hits her wrong”. Big fucking deal!! It hit her wrong but she’s not making a big deal out of it and goes on and does her thing in Texas. The only mistake Bethenny made was saying anything to Dorinda because she is the one that turned it into a huge deal when she brought it up to Carol. Then we find out that Bethenny told Carol that she thought Adam was and operator….which frankly I think is true but whatever. But Carol has a massive fit about it but not the balls to talk to Bethenny about it to her FACE. Oh and the whole why did you call Adam without telling me shit is so ridiculous I just can’t. Grow up! Regardless the whole thing could have been a one and done with one honest conversation……..but no. Lets make a mountain out of a mole hill and go on a rage all season.
I can’t believe Carol was ever a good friend to Bethenny because there is no way someone that really cared for someone would turn so very hateful as her blogs did and how she was and still is on SM. Friendships change………it happens all the time. I’ve had friendships change over time but I would NEVER go after them with suck hatefulness. That girl is just cracked!

I agree Lynn, I’ve been reading along all day after watching and reading TT’s recap. I agree with pieces and parts of some people’s observations, yours comes pretty close to what my gut is telling me since we still don’t REALLY know WTF happened. I’m frustrated for them, I still can’t wrap myself around why Carol was so angry.

In my opinion, it’s because Trump won the election, and Carol could never be sure of Bethany’s vote. She suspected Bethany didn’t vote for Hillary and it pissed her off mightily. I think that’s why she came back very angry and Disturbed and then whatever happened with Adam was the cherry on that cake.

Not because of any emotional outburst that is so common in all the women’s fights.
Two things they each did that cant compare to the usual bashing were:
First , was years back when Ramona walked Bethenny across the bridge telling her she had no friends, would never have any friends or relationship with a man and on and on…they were not fighting Ramona just ripped her up for the hell of it at a time Bethenny was still struggling.
Second was recently when Carole reduced Tinsley to tears telling her that the reason she wasn’t afraid on the rocking boat in Columbia was because she was ‘ use to abuse’ because all her male relationships had been abusive.
This is stone cold calculated cruelty…..a knife shoved in the most sensitive parts and twisted to inflict utmost pain. This more than the yelling and drunken and emotional out burst fights shows you what those two women are. They like to inflict pain.

But when I saw the old seasons of Bethenny Ever After, she had used that phrase! It instantly made me realize why Carol was using it! Quite the copycat. I think there were other comments Bethenny had said that later I heard Carole use as well. Coincidence? I think not.

2. Whether Dennis was/was not addicted to pain meds.

I have no doubt about that. I just never thought Carole would go so off about being fired. She’s always struck me as being unbothered.
I’m definitely Team Bethenny. I think she and Carole had a good run, and I think they had an authentic relationship until “the shift”. I think Carole just wanted to be a summertime, go to the beach good times type friend and Bethenny is “a lot.” But Carole knew that, but cut bait when it became inconvenient and burdensome for her. Instead of Carole being honest and sitting Bethenny down to talk about what she needs in a close friendship, she made excuses and ghosted and gaslighted when Bethenny became upset and increasingly emotional/aggressive/frustrated. And her blogs show she has held some resentment towards Bethenny for a long time, even while they were obstensibly friends. And to form a “dream team” at the reunion with Ramona and Dorinda to take down Bethenny is just really pathetic. They tried to do a Nene/Kandi/Kenya style take down and failed miserably. Bethenny has to own her part because she clearly has judged Carole too (during their friendship) as being vain, a taker, conceited, and a lazybones. Carole’s visciousness is puzzling, she is not sad at all at the demise of their friendship. Perhaps because this process has exposed all of the cracks in her carefully prepared facade? She does care what people think of her, she is sad Adam and her didn’t work out and she is desperate to be young and carefree but in Miss Havisham fashion is mouldering in a distant past. I feel sad for her because she really hasn’t gotten over the death of her husband and friends. But Bethenny was always pretty good to her and if she wanted to break up with her she should’ve done it more gracefully. Carole’s scorched earth blog and tweet assault is pretty bizarre. It’s like everything she is unhappy about she’s spewed on to Bethenny.
Bethenny chose Carole because she thought she had more in common with her in terms of their professional objectives, ability to not give a F—-what others thought and independent never look back only move forward life choices.
Carol wasn’t who Bethenny thought. Carol stepped over Bethenny choosing as her BFF a child-like thoroughly unaccomplished blonde airhead. Can’t imagine why Bethenny would be hurt by that choice.
Except that Bethenny is apparently resentful she ever wasted valuable, over forty girlfriend time on someone who was chasing a dream of constant youth instead of steadfastly growing into a woman to be admired for her ability to age with grace. Personally, I think Bethenny realizes losers like Jason and Carol are way too prevalent in her personal life and she needs to shed such dead weight sooner, rather than later.
