All aboard for Bravo Media’s “Below Deck” returning with a new and exciting charter on the exotic island of Tahiti on Tuesday, October 2 at 9PM ET/PT. The Stud of the Sea, Captain Lee, and his most trusted chief stewardess, Kate Chastain, are back for another season of above-deck demands and below-deck drama. Joining the crew are Josiah Carter (steward), Caroline Bedol (stewardess), Adrian Martin (chef), Chandler Brooks (bosun), Ross Inia (deckhand), Ashton Pienaar (deckhand) and Rhylee Gerber (deckhand).
This season on Below Deck, Captain Lee brings M/Y Seanna to the crystal clear waters and black sand beaches of Tahiti. To ensure smooth sailing this year, he hired his most trusted stew, Kate, along with a new crew who are all full of experience on the water.
Kate is excited for a new adventure out of the Caribbean and a new team to manage. Her interior team consists of formally trained butler Josiah and former solo stew Caroline. Kate immediately bonds with Josiah, her first male stew, but when their friendship turns into an exclusive clique, Caroline is left out. It looks like Kate give Captain Lee an ultimatum about Caroline, it’s Kate or Caroline, take your pick. Caroline was also hooking up with one of the deckhands. You know Kate doesn’t do well with female competition. Caroline seems to have left very early on in the season and was replaced (as was Ashton) which is why we don’t have a cast photo yet.

Chef Adrien turns up the heat in the kitchen with his complex and creative four-course meals that immediately impress Kate, but when his diva reputation surfaces, he clashes with the interior and feels Kate’s wrath. Of course he does. This is Kate’s MO with the chefs. He probably shot her down.
On deck, bosun Chandler has all the hard skills he needs from growing up in his yachting-captain father’s footsteps. But despite his confidence, Chandler begins to crack under the pressure, and his deckhands Ross and Ashton poke holes in his managerial technique. Ross, a bosun on his last charter, steps up when the stress of the excruciating season gets to Chandler, while Rhylee, a green female deckhand but experienced Alaskan fishing boat captain, requires more guidance from Chandler than he anticipated.

When there is a near-fatal accident involving a man overboard emergency, the crew is shaken to the core and must band together to finish out their intense charter season stronger than ever.
It’s Ashton who gets tangled in the lines and pulled overboard as Rhylee tries to save him. Captain says this experience shook him to his core. Ashton sustained serious injuries and was obviously unable to continue on with the season.
So to summarized, we see Captain Lee cry this season (over the situation with Ashton) and succumb to an ultimatum from Kate. Shocking season indeed. I can’t wait.
Unfortunately we have to wait until October 2nd.
If you read this right after I posted, I added some more information a few minutes after hitting send.
I can’t wait!!!! Love Captain Lee, nothing like the orignal Thank you Tamara for always bringing the best news!!!!
It looks like it’s going to be an amazing season.
Ready to go to sea, Captain.
Oh wow just read the update. That must have been so frightening and the rope burns ugh. Hope he recovered ok. Would have made me cry too.
Yes, as much as I love her, there are some types of women I can see rubbing Kate the wrong way and vice versa.
However, Kate has never really complained much about her underlings. She didn’t even pull the ultimatum shit with Rocky, so Caroline may have been a real intolerable shit show! Can’t wait!
Also, I watched the clip you picture above – that is frightening. He was going right over the prop. He could have easily died.
It doesn’t surprise me that the Alaskan fisherwoman was the one who leapt into action. Depending on where she fished, a lot of those people have to rely on themselves and each other. A cousin used to fish the Bering, and it is scary if there is an emergency. (He had to be evacuated once – via helicopter that couldn’t land if I recall.
So happy to hear that Captain Lee and Kate are coming back! I don’t know what it is about Below Deck Mediterranean but I just don’t care for it at all. I don’t think that Hannah measures up to Kate at all. Not even in the same ball park in my eyes. I may be in the minority but I enjoy Kate’s dry sense of humor.
I can not wait for this to come back! There is something about Hannah & her superiority complex that spoils Below Deck Med for me. Last week it was about all the rich guys she has dated. Past tense…
I have softened to Kate, but I couldn’t stand her at first. She was horrible to Amy. For no reason at all. I don’t mind Kate’s sense of humor…when it’s not at the expense of others. I don’t like people like that in real life, so I don’t find it humorous on reality shows. Kate can be bitchy. She was cliquey with drunk whore Kat when they froze out Amy. I hope this isn’t another repeat of that with Caroline. If she gave Captain Lee an ultimatum, I’m thinking there isn’t a lot wrong with Caroline because Lee would fire someone who really deserved it. We’ll see. I’m on the fence about Ben. He could be funny, but he could be annoying as well.
I would like to see Amy back. And Kelley. If Eddie didn’t pull that shit about lying about crazy Rocky, I would say that I’d like to see him too. I heard that she was working for Alek after her disastrous debut. Having only Lee and Kate come back doesn’t seem like enough for me. I do like to see some of the same people season after season. I like to see how they progress and what they are up to.
Because they are filming in Tahiti, most of the crew will be foreign or Americans that already reside out of the country.
Is Ashton ok now? What kind of injuries did he sustain? I truly hope that he is well.
So do I. I’ve a friend who fell overboard
and was ruined for life.
Argh – October 2? That seems like forever.
I am glad we know it ended better than it could have. Still, I bet it will be scary.i respect Kate, I have ZERO respect for Hannah. She is a B-I-T-C-H. Absolutely no redeeming qualities. She should not be drinking if she turns into a shrieking harridan every time.
Looking forward to seeing Tahiti up close. I love Captain Lee and Kate. I guess Ben really called it quits for good.
OT: My thoughts are with Hawaii tonight. To gather supplies for two weeks they know they are expecting a lot of flooding. Have vacationed there twice, first with coworkers, and then as a delayed honeymoon; loved Maui the most out of all the islands. Just beautiful. Plan to take my kids if I save my pennies!
My cousin just moved there – but fortunately found a neighborhood full of really nice people. Her neighbor had her evacuate with her to a friend’s house on high ground (on the military base).
She and her daughter packed the “bug out” bags full of essentials, etc. Cousin packed the important papers, etc. Got to the house, and dear daughter had packed all her beanie babies!!! LOL!
Thanks for the tea, TT! I can’t wait for the “Stud of the Sea” and Kate to return.
I’m over Below Deck: Mediterranean. I do, however, read your recaps.
Love the Purple Pen, TT! Very excited that Lee and Kate are back! Captain, my Captain!
OMG reading this makes me moist! I can NOT wait.. Thanks TT. Sad to see there is no Eddie. I keep thinking he will show up again for some reason.
What ever happened to Kate’s legal problems? Have they been resolved?
Apparently so, she was allowed to leave the country.
What did she do?
I’m looking forward to this season ! The incident involving the crew injured after being dragged overboard reminds me these folks have a real job with risks and they need to be able to do the job they’re actually hired to do, not just create drama for tv. (That said, no details on how this actually happens, accidents happen even if a job is performed perfectly) I bet this really effects the crew! Glad he ultimately is okay!
It looks like one of the lines got caught in a prop and he was trying to pull it back in (which seems stupid to me) and then the part of the line still on deck wrapped around his ankle and yanked him off and dragged him toward the propeller. It was a very dangerous situation and he got very lucky. I imagine that the Bosun radioed Captain Lee to kill the propellers.
Good lord! That’s pretty scary! Sounds like one of those split second moves that turns into a disaster quickly, glad he’s ok.
When Captain Lee has to stop an interview about the situation because he is choked up and needs a minute to compose himself, you know it was VERY serious. He says it shook him to the core. He takes his responsibility to take care of the crew very seriously.
I’m sure he does, I don’t doubt for a second he made “the call” to the parents because that young man is his responsibility and takes it more seriously than his own life.
Cannot wait for this season! Love me some Capt Lee & Kate! A refreshing change from le sigh…the other Below Deck series airing now…
Can’t wait.
I was thinking watching Below Deck Med how I now watch it days after if nothing else is on. Not a good sign, lol.
Love, love, love Below Deck with Capt. Lee and Kate. I do wish Ben was coming back, him & Kate were fun to watch together, it didn’t matter if they were getting along or not… I watched the first season of BD Mediterranean and decided I couldn’t watch any more of it. None of the crew was enjoyable… really it sucked!!
Going to Miss Ben myself! He’s cracks me up!
Can’t wait for Captain Lee! Captain Sandy is theee worst!!!
Is Ashton ok? What kind of injuries did he sustain? I truly hope that he makes a full recovery.
I miss Captain Sandy. LOVE her!
Aim better.
I love Captain Lee!! Captain Sandy needs to go for a longggg swim in the MED!!!
This vessel is so understaffed, it is reckless on behalf of all parties. You should have a minimum of six deck crew and four interior as well as two in the galley. Not enough rest and to much stress will lead to injury and fatalitie. You don’t get a second chance on the water! These vessels do not meet IMO standards for standards for watch keeping and crew and would not be insured charters in real life, but face those same dangers.
Understaffed ! Yes ! I would be stressed to the max ! As a retired flight attendant being understaffed is so difficult . Being on a boat would be similar , but so different . These people work their ass off with all the stair climbing and back and forth ! It HAS to be a very trying job . Pay may be good , but like many positions it still is a stressing position for all ~ yes there are good days n bad ones and good psgrs and very bad ones as well as good crew members to work with AND bad ones !
Kate is a great Lead and her sense of humor is the best ! She can seem sarcastic at times , but you gotta roll with it in jobs like this . Can’t take things too personal or you’ll be in trouble ( like kooky Caroline omg and deckhand Riley is very disrespectful in her actions . Good worker , but needs to control her personality issues .
The chef is AWESOME … Josiah is great and he and Kate together are the BEST ⭐️ Ross has it all together ! Capt Lee = the Best Captain .
Love the show ~ always entertaining and would love to give it a try working on a boat like this ( being a former flight attendant ) but too old now @ 66 !!!!!!
🤣
