Tristan and Mia
Pastor Cal shows up to talk to Tristan about being able to trust Mia. Tristan is still working on building trust back. Tristan’s lease is up at the end of the month and he wants to move to Houston. Mia doesn’t seem to want to move to Houston “because her family is in Dallas” but that didn’t stop her from dating the guy she stalked in Louisiana.
Tristan finds out that Mia is still on dating apps. He confronts her and she says that the profile isn’t active and she deleted the app. Tristan says he is done. So they end up video chatting with the therapist. Tristan has taken his ring off. After the video chat, Tristan once again agrees to give Mia another chance.
Later they go on a bowling date and seem to have a good time.
Bobby and Danielle
Bobby is very supportive of Danielle. He gets up every morning and lets the dogs out, makes coffee and packs a lunch for Danielle who has to drive an hour and a half each way to work in the new house. This couple is almost too perfect.
Danielle makes the only dinner she knows how to make. I think it is pork chops. It’s the first time she’s ever made it. He said he liked it but didn’t eat much.
Pastor Cal Meets Up With The Husbands
He asks the husbands to rate their wives on a scale of one to ten. Bobby says she’s a ten. He says this has been the best experience of his life. Dave says 7.5. He says Amber is very insecure and stressed out. He says she hasn’t been a rockstar wife yet. She’s not doing her part of the housework. He feels like he is doing all the work physically and emotionally. He feels like things are very one-sided at the moment. She’s needy A F. Tristan gave Mia an 8.
Dave and Amber
Amber wants to shop for new furniture because she feels like she just moved into his place. Did she not have furniture before the show? When Amber hears that she is rated a 7.5 she starts her drama. There is always one guy that gets dealt a bad hand when it comes to the wives. This year there are too bad deals. Dave and Tristan both got the shaft.
Hours later, Amber continues to whine about being a 7.5. That was a very kind score. She agreed to do laundry and she hasn’t done any. Amber says this is one of the reasons she never really wanted to get married because it is extra work having a husband. This bitch, y’all.
Amber talks to Dave the next day and admits she overreacted to the ranking of her wife skills. She says she did it because she has feelings for him and she was scared and freaked out. He suggests that she needs to let go of her fears and insecurities and focus on the good stuff. He says he has feelings for her as well. She finally coughs up an apology.
I just noticed that all my featured photos for this show are of Tristan. Clearly he’s my favorite.
Tristan for “Second Chance Wedding” next season.
No No No! That was a horrible show. No one left with any dignity. Let Tristan go. Pay for his divorce (maybe annulment due to fraud), offer him counseling and wish him well.
I think the pastor and psychologist/whatevers are really wrong in encouraging Tristan to stay with Mia. I don’t believe a word that comes out of her mouth – she was so dishonest about her warrant/arrest, and only coughed up partial truth, as far as I’m concerned, because she knew she was caught in her lies. There’s something so squirrelly about her , and Tristan is far too trusting. I think he’s headed for disappointment and heartache down the road, and he deserves so much better.
I also don’t think Amber and Dave will make it. I don’t think he finds her super-attractive, and they might be making somewhat of a go of it, but her problems with insecurity and pulling her weight with chores aren’t going to go away and will eventually irritate the pee out of him. When she said “she never really wanted to get married because it’s extra work having a husband”, it just went to show that she’s too damned lazy and selfish to ever make a good wife. Teamwork, Amber! Teamwork!
I like Danielle and Bobbie together – their values seem very similar and their families are compatible. Great couple and the only success this year.
Gosh, I feel for Tristan he is in a position that is nothing he expected going into this marriage. Mia’s family is eccentric and she is lost, plus has a serious Personality Disorder. These Professionals know there is a problem here but the shows management just wants the Show to go on to the 8 weeks- and then walk a away.
Dave is trying to deal with neurotic
Dave is trying to deal with neurotic Amber. But sooner or later he is going to walk away- probably at the 8 week show.
Danielle and Bobby I think we will see some issues develop but I hope they can work it out. Interesting season.
Yeah, production and the “experts” made a big goof up with Mia and now they are encouraging Tristan to stick with the marriage. I don’t care if her background check was clear. She definitely displays some concerning personality traits. What was the vetting process, I wonder? It’s unfair to encourage Tristan to remain married given the amount of deception here. If he’s not sorry now, he will be soon.
I think Dave is going to cut his losses and run. Or he should. Amber went from wanting to be married and having children to saying she didn’t want to be married bc of the work. Hello – cuckoo here!! She’s too selfish and insecure to be married let alone to be a mother. I can image her being jealous bc the baby is getting more attention. Dave is right to wonder about the emotional support he’ll get when he needs it.
The other couple are so perfect, they’re boring. LOL. They’re a good match.
Haha! If you love doing your husband’s laundry, you’ll LOVE a baby!
I am so confused by production. They’re trying to make her look like Snow White, and I think they think we will fall for it? Or maybe they really do think she’s Snow White? The whole thing makes no sense. Just from the show, we’ve gotten like three different versions.
OAN…am I the only person that noticed Tristan’s bed didn’t have any linen or pillowcases? I barely got through the scene without wanting to put sheets on the bed.
I noticed too. I just figured it was laundry day (and Amber wasn’t up to it…joking).
Amber “didn’t want to get married…”? I would have serious concerns with that one sentence alone aside from all the very insecure traits Amber is exhibiting! Yikes David! You have your hands full with this one. She’d actually be more attractive if she’d quit acting so defensive and needy all the fricking time.
Tristan and Mia, yikes! I would think during their premarital counceling something would have been brought up like, “it shouldn’t need to be said but do clear your dating history, phone numbers etc, remove yourself from any dating services so that your new spouse doesn’t happen across any old love interests that would raise doubt, concerns or effect the level of trust in your new marriage”. That said, they really should all know to clean the slate going into marriage, period. I don’t trust Mia at all, I can’t understand how the “experts” are continuing to give “solid advice” to a young married couple when one of the 2 is a known liar and weren’t in a long term committed relationship previously that hit now hit some real problems, some would say deal breakers! Do the couples get a real paycheck beyond the living stipend/vacations? Poor Tristan!
Bobby doing his part to buffer Danielle’s time commitment with her commute is commendable! They do serm happy and open to each other. They appear to have quite a bit in common and complement each other, hope they can stay happy and keep growing as a couple!
Thank your for the great recaps this show TT! I find MAFS hard to look away from!
Amber would be way more attractive without that horrible dye job. If she would go back to brunette, like her husband prefers that would at least fix the outside. The inner neediness however will require years of therapy. She seem depressed or medicated and completely disinterested in being a partner. I think she just wanted someone to take care of her like the child she behaves like.
Amber, Amber, Amber…”I don’t want to do, like, extra stuff”
She wants to be with someone, but doesn’t want to “ be like a wife, to do extra stuff”, I didn’t want to be married…seriously?
Laundry is extra stuff? isn’t shopping for furniture extra stuff? You didn’t seem to mind that.
She volunteered to be on the show…she needs therapy to work out her issues, not marriage.
I can’t with this girl. She reminds me of an old Dick Van Dyke show joke
“you have beautiful blond hair, why do you dye you roots black?”.
I said that to someone as an icebreaker during my first week of college, needless to say, we did not become BFFs. I was a sheltered child, a little awkward.
Ugh, Amber is that pretty girl who thinks all she needs to bring to a relationship is her appearance, and the man will handle the rest. My MIL is Amber at 75. It ain’t cool.
I just can’t get over the bad dye job. I don’t see her behavior as attractive. She clearly wants someone to take care of her and doesn’t understand what marriage means.
Yes, yes, yes. This sums her up precisely, unfortunately, she doesn’t see or won’t see her problem.
Such beautiful blond hair, why do you dye your roots black Amber…
(Her name in my head)
