I am not expecting much out of this episode because both parties have normal names that are spelled correctly. The guys are doing a second episode in Virginia Beach with a local girl who is 21. Chelsea met a guy named Charles on Plenty of (cat)Fish. According to the photos Charles is way out of her league. He also lives in Orlando. There is no way he is real. Aside from all of the usual Catfish behaviors, Charles says he is in the Navy but the photo of him in his fatigues shows that he’s in the Army. That pretty much seals the deal that he is not the guy in the photos. Also, Chelsea thinks he might be married.
Suspect number one is Chelsea’s best friend Dominique. She’s the one who turned her on to POF. Then Charles from Orlando just started randomly talking to her. It makes no sense. She has only talked to him on the phone for a hot minute one time and he hasn’t had time to call her back in over a year. Yet, they are talking about moving in together and having babies.
Suspect number two is her ex boyfriend who is still in love with her. She doesn’t text with Charles so doesn’t even have a phone number they communicate solely through Instagram and POF. Max asks if he ever asks her if she is still interested in her ex. He has. “Very interesting,” says Max.
During the extremely basic Internet investigation, the guys find the real guy in the photos. They also discover that Dom communicates with the fake profile. Max doesn’t think Dom is the catfish based on her Instagram page that shows nothing but selfies. She’s too into herself to take the time to catfish someone.
Someone made an IG profile just to contact Max and Nev about Chelsea. So they call the person. but they don’t answer. When they let Chelsea listen to the voice on the voice mail, she says that is the voice of the catfish. The number is a Virginia number. Of course Catfish knew this be cause they wouldn’t have been going to Orlando. When the catfish calls, and gives them an address of where to meet him it is only then that the guys “realize” he has been in Virginia Beach this whole time. He is in fact ten minutes away.

When the gang gets to the catfish’s house Chelsea says she has seen that guy before. He’s sitting in a wheelchair on the front porch. Chelsea says his brother went to school with her and he has seen her around. This guy is not the catfish. He was the voice of the catfish on that one short phone call. He doesn’t name the catfish, but says he just left on foot five minutes ago and they should just go look for him. So everyone is in the car looking for someone with no description. Then they conveniently roll up on Dom, suspect number one, in a public park.
Dom or Domo as she calls herself confesses to being Charles and also says she is in love with Chelsea. I didn’t see that part coming. Dom is also her room-mate. In fact they share a bed. Chelsea is going to get a room in the hotel for the night.
The next day, we realize that Chelsea actually lives with Dom and her mother. The mother is present for the final interview. Eventually, the girls hug it out. At the check up, Chelsea has moved back into the house. They went on a couple of dates and decided to just be friends.
Thanks for recapping.
I think I’m checking out of this show, too ridiculous now.
This show is too predictable, it is a good filler for my lunch break when I don’t have anything else in the DVR though
Is it true that Max is leaving the show?
Yes. Nev is talking about a female replacement. The show is well past dead. But the ratings must be great because they literally run marathons every single night for hours. That’s the reason I recap them all. People search for news after the episodes.
Oh no! I don’t think I can watch without max. Nev is so grating and his wife doesn’t really add anything. The show is so fake now but I still liked watching max.
