I have to say that I used to just ignore this show and pawn it off on other people to write about it, but I’ve actually enjoyed this season. While they have a lot of fights like the other franchises, they also do a lot of funny stuff too. Like this pizza delivery prank that we left off with on the last episode. The little trouble makers, Gizelle, Robyn and Ashley are at Karen’s Great Falls house dressed in crazy disguises trying to deliver a pizza to Karen. Sadly, the prank falls flat when no one answered the door. Robyn says she thinks the saw a handbag on the kitchen counter. The mystery was not resolved.
Candiance and Chris continue to plan their wedding. Neither has any real enthusiasm about it. Chris says he is hoping to get his kids to come for the wedding.Chris has an older son he hasn’t had contact with in ten years. That doesn’t say much about Chris’s character. That son is fifteen. Chris says he is going to write him a letter.
We get a scene of Karen and Ray pretending that they live together in the Great Falls House. Karen stopped by a croissant shop on the way to pretend she made breakfasts. It looks like she also got bacon, egg and cheese croissants from Burger King as well. She’s serving them all on plates. Karen is the Sheree of RHOP. Breakfast discussion is about her fake fragrance line. It should be out in September/Spring/Summer. Oh Look! My post about their financial problems just popped up on the screen! If you blinked you missed it. These two talk like they never see each other unless the cameras are there.
Ashley goes to a therapist about her marriage and family planning. I fast forwarded that because there is no point to the conversation. And yet we get another conversation between Michael and Ashley on the subject in another scene. First though, Michael points out that the house is Great Falls is a rental and the rent is more than the mortgage payment on the house they sold in Potomac. Things are not adding up. As for the baby thing, Michael says he still has no decision. He does make sense. He said it’s only been a few months since they were separated, and it’s too soon to commit to a baby. Ashley says in a talking head that when she turns 30, she’s going to have to reassess the situation.
Robyn throws a birthday party for her youngest son, Ron’s newly discovered biological father shows up. These little boys are so cute and I like that the party is about them and go karts and not a parent centered event.
Oh Lord, we are going to have to witness Chris and Candiance engagement party. I thought that might be something down the road. Potomac got a budget raise this year and they spent it on the trip to Cannes and this party. It’s a fancy indoor/outdoor party at a roof top restaurant. It’s the perfect place for the finale brawl, as long as no one gets tossed over the balcony.
Chris gave all the ladies monogrammed napkins to make up for the lack of napkins at the bubble soccer event. I thought that was cute and clever. I also thought Ashley’s gift of a bonsai tree was clever as well. But sweet little Ashley wastes no time coming for Karen. She says it is nice to see her wearing her ring and that Ray is with her tonight. It appears to be an all call for the husbands and Ray doesn’t seem thrilled to be there. Karen goes off on Ashley saying that the day she cares about her opinion about her ring, her toenails, her toes, her teeth, she will check herself into the insane asylum. She says that Ashley gives nothing but lies she’s a liar. It was a pretty fierce read I have to say.
Ray is chatting up some other random ladies when Michael interrupts to ask him where he is living. No greeting, no hello, just “We are you living right now?” Ray is very defensive. Then Gizelle asks Karen if she got a pizza delivery the other day. She seems confused. Gizelle says that all of the girls got a pizza delivery the other night. I thought that was really smart. Karen says she didn’t receive one. They tell her she should check her door. She says, “I just walked out of that door today.” Who says that. I don’t believe for a second this woman lives in that house.
We end the season with a toast to the soon to be bride and groom, given by the soon to be bride,
THE END NOTES let us know that one of the green-eyed girl’s wedding invitation was lost in the mail. Michael and Ashley went on a spiritual journey to Bhutan for her 30th birthday where she visited a fertility temple and prayed with a wooden penis. Gizelle is house hunting and it sounds like she got back together with Sherman but they don’t mention him by name. Monique is pregnant with baby number three, and Chris still hasn’t told his mother. That’s weird. What’s that story? Robyn’s house flip has not been completed and she’s fired the contractor. She and Juan who I just realized I call Ron this entire recap are considering marriage. She also got a very short hair cut. Karen’s update didn’t update a thing.
At the reunion, Michael does most of the crying.
