Maci is a superfan and a self-proclaimed bad ass. Maci says watching the show, she hates when people tap out too early. Foreshadowing? She said she has been practicing making fire and has gotten good at it. Her PSR is 4.3. Justin is also a superfan. He’s a big guy, 6′ 5″ and 300 pounds. He’s Hawaiian. He’s trauma nurse. His PSR is 5.3. They are in Nicaragua.
There are thorns everywhere. Maci has an insane amount of tattoos. They find some papayas along the way. Maci’s feet are torn up right away. Justin tries to be supportive, but it’s just been a few hours. He gives her a piggy back ride. Eventually, they find a river for water and started fire with a fire starter. Justin is really nice to Maci. They make a sleeping rack so they can sleep off the ground. Day two, they have to find something to make shoes with. Maci is already wanting to tap on day two. Holy crap. She totally taps on day two. Her PSR is dropped to 1.3. Pathetic. I am truly shocked.
Nathan fights a possum and the possum wins. Nathan’s feet are killing him too. I think their mistake was making shoes too late. They should have made them much sooner. Night two, Nathan was ready to tap as well. The next day he made an awesome fish trap and left it over night. He caught nothing. On day five he found a few very tiny crabs. He is really struggling with the lack of food. He’s light-headed and having trouble focusing. His coordination is off and he accidentally hit his foot with a machete. It’s a very serious, very deep cut. He has to be medically evacuated..He could easily lose his foot. He lost ten pounds in seven days. We see his foot surgery to close the wound. The doctors were not exactly plastic surgeons and his healed foot when we see it weeks later still looks pretty gnarly.
