Around week three I started to wonder if anyone was really interested in my tomato garden. For the first few weeks it was simply talking about each plant and how they were growing and coming along just fine. For the past few weeks however, things have taken a nasty turn.
My golden jubilee has one GIANT unripe tomato. Most leaves are gone and no signs of any more blooms. It appears to be a one and done. The cheat plant still has very dark healthy looking leaves for the most part but most of the green tomatoes are rotting on the bottom on the vine. I’ve never had this issue before. The yellow pear is COVERED in fruit and about six of them ripened for my salad yesterday. The yellowing lower leaves don’t seem to be bothering the fruit growth at all. This is my most successful plant at the moment. I think the brandywine is going to be a one and done plant as well. Though it does seem to be growing, the flowers are not forming fruit. The San Marzano plant has a half-dozen green fruit but the plant seems to be on its last leg. Even the early girl is suffering mightily from the fungus. There are two or three green fruits that I feel like should have already ripened by now.
The bell peppers are dead. The chili peppers are turning red now. The tabasco plant may or my not make it. It usually has fruit a bit later in the season but something is eating the leaves
I gotten to the lazy point where I am glad when it rains so I don’t have to water. I’m not watering consistently. That could be the cause of some of my issues.
Ellie E sent in this photo of her herb garden. If you want to send in a photo, just email it to me tamaratattles on gmail. But please try to send a photo that is not very long and that is WIDER than it is long.
Now tell me how your garden is doing…
