It would seem pretty obvious that production strongly encourages the housewives to drink. You rarely see them at a shoot at a place that does not serve alcohol. Since the ladies don’t pay for their drinks, they rarely turn down the opportunity for a free one. If you have eyes that communicate to a brain, you are aware that production on all reality shows highly encourages drinking. Bethenny Frankel knows this as well. If she needed a refresher Page Six has a detailed story with quotes from several former housewives to acknowledge this already well-known production tactic.
Kelly Bensimon says that Sonja Morgan was blind drunk and they would not let her help her home. She also told Page Six that RHONY basically ruined her life because they made her look crazy and now she is unhire-able. Well, I believe the Sonja part….
Heather Thomson has a similar Sonja Morgan story. When filming at the Saratoga racetrack, Sonja was leaving early and as was falling down drunk dragging her own suitcase to the car and production wanted everyone to go outside to “tell her goodbye” so they could get the footage. She refused. She also said that if that sort of thing happens once or twice it is fine to film, but if it is a frequent thing, they might need to question whether the person is right for the show. Heather also shared that when they go on trips they give their drink requests and their alcohol is in their rooms upon arrival.
An anon RHONY said the same thing happened in Atlantic City, again with Sonja and there was a meeting with some of the cast and production. Bethenny was very vocal in that meeting about Sonja being a legal liability. That’s interesting that Bethenny is chiming it to production about casting. It didn’t seem to matter though because Sonja is still on RHONY and Bethenny is her old friend this season.
Of Course Sonja gave a comment to Page Six, ““I think I’m very funny when I drink. I’m very transparent on the show. For me, with my businesses [including a namesake clothing line], I can show people who I can drink, or that I don’t have to drink. It’s just good to show both sides.” Um do any of you business owners feel the need to show your clients you can drink but you don’t have to?
Gretchen Rossi claims production would make sure their drinks were constantly capped off so they never really knew how much they were drinking and production kept records on what they drank.
In other evidence of production encouraging drinking, Bravo apparently paid for Kim Richards’ rehab. Bravo also tried to get Taylor Armstrong into rehab after she called Kyle drunk out of her mind telling her she was flying off in a private get with some guy. Kyle had her Taylor’s kid with her she was baby sitting for a few hours and Taylor didn’t even seem to mention it or know where her kid was. Taylor refused to go to rehab and taped three more seasons.
But the Page Six Story actually begins with an interview with Aviva Drescher who claims producers would not let her replace water for vodka in a post production makeup scene between her and Ramona and was told she had to drink the vodka. She also said that production told her they would not pay for Mr. Chow at her party but never had an issue with the cost of the liquor.
So I am going to need someone to explain to me why Bethenny felt the need to remind Aviva who go her on the show and then try to make her think what happened to her didn’t happen to her. Bethenny hasn’t responded to Carole’s constant attacks on her lately. Is she taking her anger out on some she perceives as an easy target? Let’s hope this is not the beginning of the full on bitch mode Bethenny returning. She was just in Honduras seemingly comprehending the important things in life. Maybe she was just drunk.
But in 240 words or less Bethenny managed to…
- Remind Aviva she owes her for getting her on the show
- Brag about her own THIRTEEN YEARS in Reality TV
- Call her a liar TWICE
- And tattle to Andy and the kid who runs the BravoTV media
- Oh and look like a complete cunt
Is this a good time to point out Bethenny wasn’t even on during Aviva’s seasons? Remember those were the years where Bethenny was too good for reality TV.
Thoughts? That Page Six story was juicy !
