Ready ladies and gents? We are still brawling in the middle of the D.C. Streets. Monique is still hollering about not hanging out with people who don’t have anything to lose and these grown women are being asked to leave the outside of an establishment by the sweetest little old lady security guard.
I do see where Monique is coming from no one especially those who are trying to do charity work with children want unseemly rumors spread about them but shouldn’t the brunt of this be on Ashley? I know Robyn always has slick things to say but she wouldn’t have fodder without Ashley spilling the beans here.
Do you ever wonder how tired the husbands get when they have to listen to the recaps of the ladies nights? Do you think they are thinking lord if you weren’t getting paid for this I would walk out of the room and ignore this ridiculousness. Except for Peter we know he LIVES for the mess.
Lawd have mercy Candance’s mom wants to walk the susband (can we just say husband???) down the aisle and he has a 15 year old son!!!??? Why have we never heard of this third mystery child? Candance’s mom is going to close the purse strings on this wedding that is why Candace didn’t say anything.
Vegan household because one person watched a documentary? Negative, Im going to want a burger and I am going to have a burger. Juan found his biological father and Robyn wants to speak to a Medium to get peace from Juan’s mother and also them losing all their money which she keeps rehashing. I would say Robyn’s guilt is why she so readily agreed to go vegan but I also think its just an excuse to have a psychic on this show. Every housewives franchise includes a Medium in some way shape or form so it was about that time for Potomac.
I do appreciate when the housewives do charity work. Using their platforms to help other people is one of the only redeeming qualities for the show. I hope the rest of the ladies can have one scene where they come together. That or at least send in a donation.
I get nervous when mom’s share the screen. Here Candace’s mom is in town to push forward her vision of the wedding and Candace is about to drop the bomb that Chris has an adult child. Why this would be an issue I am not sure. Candace no one cares that your man is white or that he has other children. Your mom doesn’t like any men because of her rocky relationships in the past and that’s it. See look how she reacted everyone has some baggage and Chris’ is no heavier than anyone else’s.
Moving on from the underwhelming pronouncement…Gizelle’s mom lives in Houston and after the hurricane she wants Robyn to find her a house closer to her and her grandchildren. Gizelle is wondering how having her mom move in while trying to strengthen her relationship with the skittish Sherman That’s got to be a lot to handle and seeing that vulnerability from Gizelle is nice.
Do we trust Monique with a big uhaul? Yall know she be tired behind the wheel. I kid I kid. She is doing good gathering supplies. I hope yall catch that foreshadowing with Cherisse saying she used all her friends and contacts to help. Cherisse is going to use that to help her bolster her case for coming back on the show full time I can feel lit.
All the ladies show up to help even if Gizelle just did a drive by but Robyn is MIA so she can organize an event that looks like it could be the pyramid scheme a JrLeaguer mentioned last week.
Finally Monique and Ashley get together to finally clear the air. Lol they are both ordering non acholic beverages. That is good Ashley gave what I thought was a very satisfactory apology even though she was shady in her interview. Again underwhelming face off here but at hopefully we don’t have to count Monique’s drinks again because these women are always more interesting after a couple glasses of wine.
OK the Medium is here. Nice touch with the white blond hair. He is feeling Juan’s dead mothers presence and his dead step father. I am pretty sure that all of this could have googled so I am not all impressed but if this provides closure for then it is worth it.
That was an odd place to end for an oddly non exciting episode. Looks like this was just filler for next week when everyone comes after everyone’s husband and/or relationship. Next week lets play a drinking game, Every time a Housewife says “I normally leave family out of fights, but…” we should all take a drink. Who is with me?!
I agree that this week wasn’t too exciting, but I’m willing to give them a pass this week because RHOP has generally been way more exciting than nearly all the other Housewives shows (save RHONY and RHOD) this past year.
Just when I thought Gizelle had found the love of her life, it looks like she’s having yet another round of relationship woes. Damn, I hope she eventually finds a better boyfriend.
I get that Monique is upset that the other women are talking about her, but she really shouldn’t have been drinking and driving. Again, she needs to find some balance in her life. At least we got to see her rise to the occasion last night with the Harvey relief trucks.
Judging from the mid-season preview, I can’t wait to see what happens next. Despite how the friendships were structured when the season began, it looks like Ashley joins forces with Gizelle and Robyn while Monique and Candace get into formation with Karen. These should make for some interesting moments at the reunion!
Potomac has actually impressed me year after year. Much like the Dallas housewives, I was going to write them off as I found their premiere season boring.. But S2 and S3 of Potomac have been very good. Much more interesting than Beverly Hills and OC. Can’t wait to see the shenanigans they get up to in Cannes !
I didn’t realize that Cherisse wasn’t a housewife. I must have nodded off at some point.
Ashley is that girl who looks for gossip, spreads it, apologizes and does it again and again.#1 housewives motto. “I own it”
Peter was good but Simon was the King of being in the middle of the girls and joining the fun. ?
Peter, Simon, And Slade!
I have been to Oz several times. It is a huge restaurant in a place where most of the “boites” are small and boutiquey. It’s a gorgeous space–designed and done with excellent taste. The menu has changed several times, as they continue to try to get the concept right. Clearly there is no shortage of financial investment in the place, but it hasn’t caught fire in what is a very popular neighborhood for going out.
I go with a friend of is also a fan of RHOP. We’ve asked the bartenders and servers about Ashley, and they are very loyal. We try not to be obnoxious in our questions, but they won’t spill any tea. Not even a raised eyebrow. Always just big smiles and assurances that she is very involved in the restaurant and a wonderful boss.
I believe I’ve said it here before, but I’ll tell this little story again, with your kind indulgence. One night, a very beautiful young woman in a sweater dress was bussing the tables around us and generally checking up that things were spic-and-span, very hands-on. She came to our table and asked if we were pleased and if there was anything she could get for us. Like two schoolgirls, we fawned, “Oh, Ashley!! It’s YOU!.” She could not have been more charming. She thanked us heartily for watching the show and also for patronizing the restaurant. She stayed for a bit and participated in friendly banter. We told her we were old enough to be her mother, and she said “Well, I’m married to a man who’s old enough to be my father, so that shouldn’t stand in our way!” We asked if she was still thinking of having a baby (this was before the separation) and she said “Right now, this restaurant is my baby. And like any baby, it takes all of my energy!”
I know she was highly motivated, but she could not have been more kind, and she is
and she is truly gorgeous.
Ashley stirs the pot whether intentional or accidental. Just like Teddy (who I like) and Sheree and Ramona.
Ashley is definitely aware that her TV salary is important for her. The restaurant is not doing well, and even if she has a prenup from Darby, she hasn’t been married to him long enough to get a great settlement from him if they divorce.
As long as I’m dishing, I know people who have worked with him. Like many developers, he is not an easy personality, and he also may not be as rich as he appears.
Which reminds me that Ashley told us she was really excited that Bravo had renewed RHOP and moved it to a better time slot.
He doesn’t really appear rich.. He appears like a normal business executive type. The only ones on Potomac that appear wealthy are Monique and her hubby (who is soooo adorable <3)
Darby has a lot of money at risk, like any developer. You’ve got a great point.
A real vacation! This show has moved up to the “watch on the same night it’s aired” category for me and I can’t wait to see what Cannes brings for the ladies.
Thanks for the recap!
I know a couple of people who have watched a documentary and then become vegan. I will not be watching that documentary!!
Hi, Kara: I really like your name!
Thanks. Chose it myself – it’s fake. 🙂 So… I like yours too!
LOL! Now I like it even better!
Hi, Kara: I really like your name!
It looks like Karen is going to be crazier than ever in the next episodes. She lies so much and is so clearly lying and evading and faking, it’s painful. It must be a very hard fall that she is taking. It’s hard to feel too sorry for her because she has learned no empathy. She is as haughty as ever.
It was nice to see Juan and Robyn smiling such real smiles. Whether or not they have a future, I hope they stay really good friends.
@Amanda: Great recap.
Thanks for the shout out!
Did anyone else see the pine tree air freshener hanging from the mirror of Monique’s Bentley? I died!!
Charisse (sp?)…I wish Bravo had left her in her Champagne Room.
Great recap. I love this show ! So much happens in every single episode.Cast
is not as boring or jaded as the rest of the franchises or devolved into tedious repetition of bland storylines about literally nothing. Watch with anticipation each week & it never fails to amuse me.
NONE of them, with the possibility of Charisse, live in Potomac. Not that it matters.
Robyn lives so far from Potomac it probably takes her an hour to get there in traffic. I like her a lot–no judgment.
Only two of the real housewives of DC (what a bomb that was) lived in DC. And I’m not sure that both of them actually resided there.
None off this is news to TT!
Not even Charrisse. Her place is in Rockville! ?
Monique lives in Potomac
Ah, thanks!
one of her MANY homes btw.
Does anyone know why Charisse is not a full time Housewife this season? Usually when HW’s are demoted to Friend status, they’re on camera less and aren’t involved in the main drama. But Charisse is still in the middle of everything and it looks like she’s going on the cast trip to Europe too. Her role on the show seems as big as when she was a Housewife.
Charisse has tried to play it off that it was her choice to step away due to her divorce but Robyn and Gizelle said in an interview she was unaware she was going to be a Friend during the start of filming and then the ladies all realized she wasn’t going to be a housewife because they weren’t filming at her house. They said she was mad and they can tell how mad she is when they viewed the first couple episodes of the season. Which is probably why she was going so hard on Candiace, she realized Candiace was her replacement. lol
didn’t realize charisse wasn’t in the intro? could’ve sworn she was also in the cast lineup in the title card this season aswell??
It must suck being demoted when her role has not changed in the least bit. She is still very much in the midst of things. Some wives such as Candace and Karen have said she’s fighting hard to insert herself into the drama in order to get her full time status back.
I was never really a fan of Charisse, but I did like her support of Monique in the latest episode. Let’s not forget that Charisse is the one who brought her into the group.
I just find Monique’s manners below par, the way she keeps referencing how much money she has, while she allegedly is trying to excuse that she drove while intoxicated.
I screamed when you asked if we should trust Monique with a U-Haul because we know she be tired behind the wheel. LOL
Loving your recaps so much!
I’m glad Monique and Ashley had a productive conversation. Unfortunately, I don’t think Monique is very trusting of her right now, and rightfully so. I really felt Monique’s pain when she started crying about opening up to the women. I thought her and Ashley were on the right track. Spoiler alert, the apology doesn’t really mend their friendship long term.
The reason Monique really popped off against Pinky & The Brain is because they’re truly the most antagonizing people on this show. Gizelle is always sicking Robyn on people. Monique and Ashley were on track to becoming friends where as there has always been pent up negativity between Monique and Gizelle/Robyn.
I’m loving Monique! She’s everything these shows are SUPPOSED to be about: really super duper rich, lots of free time for “projects” and a husband with kids. I know her second season is giving her a negative edit (and rightfully so in some cases), but I’m still team Monique.
