Real Housewives of New York: Grief And Relief

May 9, 2018 by tamaratattles 185 Comments

Bethenny has a three-inch stack of bills ready to go to Puerto Rico. We saw some hundreds but I am sure she is smart enough to take a couple hundred in singles for the trip. I have small bills stuck here and there for the zombie Apocalypse because if we can’t access our banks you don’t want to pay $100 for a loaf of bread box of wine. You are also going to need hand-held can openers, lots of tins of fish and chicken, tons of candles lighters and matches and lots and lots and lots of bullets among other things. I stay ready.

I don’t know where Carole and Tinsley are meeting for lunch but wherever it is they make beer butt chicken. I don’t know of any southern restaurants that sell that. That’s a thing Bubba makes out on the grill. Tinsley is one of those people whose order gets their food spit on. Last week Carole showed up to  Ramona’s event in a robe. This wee she as at breakfast? lunch? with Tinsley in pajamas. Carole tells Tinsley that Adam has met someone he wants to date. Carole doesn’t seem to understand what that means. It means he wants to date other people and see her in his free time if he still wants to.

Sonja is preparing to rent her house. Someone sent me the listing a few weeks back the photos look like it’s in perfect shape. She’s asking $35,000 A MONTH. The agent suggests $32,000 and Sonja thinks that is about right. Perhaps I misremembered but I thought it was at $35,000. Either way. MY.GAWD. The realtor asks if the elevator is up to code. Sonja says she does an inspection every year. How many times have we seen someone stuck in that elevator over the years? There are still many things left to fix in the house to fix before she can rent it. Like, you know a complete plumbing overhaul and fixing the heat. Sonja has a photographer come makes some lame excuse about her housekeeper not showing up. Despite all of her efforts to throw herself at The photos I saw made the place looks like a museum. In a good way.

In Miami, Bethenny greets Dorinda and Dorinda seems genuinely excited to go. Bethenny talks about the first plane she took. She really was there before FEMA who kept making all sorts of excuses about why they were not there yet. Bethenny arrived 13 days after the hurricane after raising money for the plan and gathering tons and tons of supplies and monetary donations. I watched this all play out on social media and Vice News. It was completely shocking that a housewife of all people was literally the first person to render aid from outside the island. Incredible. Also lots of things she was doing were illegal but no one was paying attention because there was no power, no water and it was chaos. She leaving the country with way more cash than she is allowed to. I can’t believe she admitted that on TV. Dorinda wonders if they are going to be able to disperse the money in one after noon? They are but they might get robbed.

Carole, Tinsley and Ramona all go to the nail salon. They all look super hungover and are all in sweats. Carole mocks Tinsley’s camo ensemble because Carole is on the cutting edge of fashion. After some Sonja bashing, Ramona lets Carole know that Bethenny took Dorinda to Puerto Rico. Carole seems upset she wasn’t chosen especially after she just made a big donation. Carole pretends like she is fine with it and that it is Bethenny that is pulling away. But that is not what she said on the blogs or on WWHL.

Dorinda, Carole, Tinsley and their three men are all in the latest CouponCabin commercial.

Back in Miami, Bethenny takes Dorinda to the warehouse. It is huge. They have pushed over ten million pounds of goods for the relief efforts. Dorinda is shocked at the remote nature of the areas Bethenny is going to try to get to on this trip. Again, places no other relief has reached.

Bethenny takes Dorinda to meet the four partners in her relief effort at a sushi restaurant in Miami the night before they leave. This trip is strictly to pass out cash. They have around $125,000 and around 25 people to put $300 gift cards into people’s hands. Dorinda was drunk and slurring on arrival. She is incomprehensible and eating with her bare hands off communal platters. It’s 7 p.m.  Michael, the guy who is really the head of this expedition because he is a retired billionaire who has put all his efforts into humanitarian work for the past decade begins talking about Haiti where he has been working for nearly eight years through cholera epidemics and numerous setbacks to rebuilding the country. This is just so embarrassing. Dorinda seems to be saying that nothing good is coming out of Haiti. When Michael says that he has kids he’s been working with whose parents never even went to high school going to college this year. Dorinda basically calls him a liar. Bethenny is humiliated. I’m horrified. Bethenny suggests Dorinda should come if she things there is no point in the aid. Dorinda storms out bouncing in many directions unable to find the door. Bethenny’s compassion for Dorinda is incredible. She texts her and tells her it was a weird night and she will see her in the morning for the flight.

Sure enough, Dorinda shows up the next morning fresh as a daisy as if nothing happened. I see this as a fundamental character flaw with Dorinda. I’ve said this before. I have had too much to drink many, many, many times and I feel horrible and embarrassed and apologetic and more embarrassed. Did I mention embarrassed and ashamed?  Bethenny was expecting that and you can tell she is a bit put off that Dorinda is acting like nothing happened. Bethenny very calmly tells Dorinda that the way that she treats her sometimes is worse than Ramona. She says she gives her slack sometimes because she’s a drunk. Dorinda back pedals and makes excuses and then eventually apologizes. I like that this conversation is happening in hushed tones and there is not shouting so far. Bethenny says she doesn’t need and apology she just needs her to stop lashing out at her and doing and saying hurtful things when she is drunk. Dorinda says she has to apologize because she wants to have a closer relationship with Bethenny. I found that apology very telling. She is apologizing to get something she wants.

Bethenny says “That’s the thing, I’m scared of you. ” Bethenny points out that she belittled Michael’s ten years of humanitarian efforts. Dorinda says she will apologize to him. But in the talking head that was probably filmed after the rest of the season she says, “Bethenny likes to label people and it’s not fair. And Bethenny has had her moments. And one night does not define people.” So far this season we have not seen an episode without her slurring drunk and lashing out. Way more episodes than not last season she was slurring falling down drunk. More than one random D list celebrity has said on WWHL that Drunk Dorinda is their favorite housewife. This week Brad from Fashion Police said “Slurry Dorinda is his favorite Dorinda.” Perhaps is college “Drunk Dorinda (or Tamara) is so much fun! I love her!” is a compliment, at 50 it is not cute or fun or something that should be a sideshow for the general public. It’s a problem.

Bethenny says that just like she says Sonja is hurting because she misses her life with her husband, she think Dorinda is missing her old life. She says she has noticed it a lot more since Dennis has been around. Dorinda suggests that Bethenny triggered that in her. Again, it’s not Dorinda’s fault. Finally, Dorinda shows emotion. Her husband was bald like Dennis and Dennis reminds her of her ex-husband. She admits that she is missing Richard and that is probably why she came for Sonja so hard. So will she apologize to Sonja? I doubt it. Bethenny says that Dorinda is with someone now that she enjoys being with part-time. She doesn’t want to ever get that close to a man again and experience that sort of loss again. Ah, this therapy session is finally getting somewhere. Dorinda says some days she wakes up and thinks, “Is this it? If I die here is anyone going to find me?” I think about that a lot myself. Especially since it took about a month for people to find the stalker next door. She says she needs a life alert. It sound like she is kidding. She is NOT kidding. Do not ask me how I know this. I have a lot in common with Dorinda. Bethenny basically tells Dorinda that she doesn’t seem fulfilled in her relationship with John. In her talking head she says she doesn’t know why she doesn’t just go all in with John. Then she says that part of her misses it and part of her is afraid of doing it again. Dorinda says she needs therapy. That will be her gift to herself for 2018. Ah. Progress.

I always wonder what it is like for people to see scenes like this several months later. I wonder what Dorinda is saying on social media right now? I wish I had time to look.

Next week: We find out what went on with Adam and Bethenny and Carole. It sounds like Adam wanted to be compensated to do the photography for the relief efforts.  That seems weird since he does some international charity work of his own. We finally make it to Puerto Rico.

This was a really good episode because all of the situations with Bethenny and Dorinda were real and not at all scripted.  Next week seems a bit lighter.

Being that I have so many good friends from Puerto Rico I cried when Bethanny went over her relief stuff.

That’s so fantastic on so many levels.

“Bullshit,” said Eve to Villanelle. That’s my reaction to Dorinda’s tears.

That wallpaper in Sonjas parlor is very expensive and impossible to find. Vintage pattern, but I don’t know the name.

I wonder what the tab is for one hard boiled egg.

I’m scared because I really liked Sonja’s wallpaper. I think it reminds me of my childhood – not that I lived in a luxury townhouse, but everywhere I lived had pretty wallpaper. I notice it’s starting to be used more and more in decorating, and I like that. Back in the early 80’s, I had a bathroom with hunter green accessories (of course, it was the 80’s) and a beautiful wall covering of pale blues, mint green and dark green accents. It was so pretty. Now, my bathrooms are just painted. Sonja will need to put most of her decorative items in storage and do quite a bit of repair work before she gets anywhere near $32,00 a month, although Ryan Serhant was on WWHL last night and seemed to think that $32,000 was in the right ball park. Location, location, location. Good luck, Sonja. I have a soft spot for her, but she really needs to stop acting like an 18th century madam. The point comes where it looks borderline pathetic, especially coming on to a married gay guy, and she’s only a few years away from reaching that age.

Looks like it’s radio silence for Dorinda on social media tonight. Just a ‘Liar liar – ho on fire’ Gif earlier today. I would say Sonja is not getting that apology and that Dorinda still thinks her drunk rants are cute.

Living alone is not for sissies. I identify with Dorinda as well. I think she scares Bethanney because her mother was a drunk/addict? She was super gentle with her and I feel progress was made. Oddly I’ve seen Nene attempt this type of discussion (Porsha comes to mind). Both I truly feel have good intentions. But road to hell etc. etc. ok enough rambling!! Thanks for the recap TT!!

Ok- so this has reached a point. And totally agree with the poster above — BS on Dorinda’s tears. For me Dorinda is the Sheanna of HWNYC. Boo- effing hoo. Like no one was widowed before or so many women are not forced to live alone. One learns to accept it – without millions in the bank – because people can be hired with that kind of money. But most people can’t afford it. The thing is – imo – Dorinda came across as very grandiose at that dinner. So does she miss bald Richard or the vaunted life-style he brought? Such as hob-nobbing with Hillary and working for Mr. S? Hence her lecturing about “her and Richard” in Haiti and seemingly trying to present as an authority of international sagacity. And the meanness and rudeness to Bethenny and her philanthropist friend —while acting superior. Yes – Bethenny is right – D comes across as mean like Ramona. And Bethenny deserves the Mother Teresa award of the year for her compassion for Dorinda – which Dorinda, imo, does not deserve because -#I will not take responsibility for my bad behavior in my talking head, but will blame Bethenny. THEN – there is the matter of John – and it does not seem, imo, that she is AFRAID of losing someone again – but that John is not BALD! like Richard and Dennis – BALD being code for politically and socially elite. John may be Dorinda’s “Shay”. Dorinda is no longer with a “mover and a shaker” and she seems mad as hell . Therapy. Right. That and public image reconstruction.

Amen. At least she has a daughter who will miss her if she dies. My ex and I never could have children and then he left me after 26 years. I don’t have any nieces or nephews, so yeah I worry about the future. But what I don’t do is drink too much and make a public ass of myself.

Agreed, Scottishwitch. Both Dorinda and Carole are examples of the dreaded east coast elitist snob. i get that academics, politics, and running one’s mouth are quite alluring as a lifestyle. But ladies, life is short and you both have a ton of cash. If you can not support the hard work and generosity of others who care to make a difference in this world, then shut it. Your inability to order breakfast, have or not have “boyfriends” or pursue much of anything worthwhile is infuriating. Dorinda, your behavior has set you up for a great fall, and yet you have the nerve to judge others. I do not want to hear about Sonja living in the past, as they all do it. No one is a child on this franchise, but the decidedly immature and insular behavior of these females is jaw dropping. Have none of them rec’d the message that tottering around on platform heels and judging others from the cocoon of your private abode is considered passe?

Good point about many people living alone. Heck, the cast of this show is in that category! Sonja, Ramona, Tinsley, Luann, Bethenny, Carole all live alone! Come to think of it, not one of the “housewives” is even a wife!

The number of children the New York cast has is also below the average for the housewives. Carole and Tinsley have 0. Ramona, Sonja, Bethenny have 1. Luann has 2. That’s 5/7 average or .7 per woman.

Contrast that to Beverly Hills: LVP, Rinna, Dorit, Teddi each have 2. Kyle has 4.

    So much cringing this episode.

I had to pause the DVR several times during the dinner scene with Dorinda, I was so embarrassed for her and cringing so hard that I could only watch it a little at a time.

Dorinda is an alcoholic. This has been obvious since her first appearance on the show 2 (3?) seasons ago. Anybody whose personality drastically changes after a few drinks has a problem, and we’ve seen this from her since day one. And no, it’s not cute and it’s not fun.

Clearly, Bethenny has experience with this issue. I’m glad that she chose to address it with Dorinda in a straightforward but low-key way, rather than screaming at her like she did with Sonja a few seasons ago.

Equally cringeworthy was watching Sonja sexually harrass the real estate photographer. I was squirming watching that. I’m sure that guy was just thrilled that for one little job, he had to dodge advances and announce on worldwide television that he’s gay. Goog going, Sonja.

Why can’t Carole’s boiled egg touch her scrambled eggs? She would fit right in with People of Walmart in those PJs.

Thanks for showing us Tinsley rolling around on the floor again this week. I still don’t understand the reaction.

I was shocked by how nice Sonja’s apartment looked in the pictures because every time they film there I get claustrophobic.

Ramona’s extensions looked horrible at the salon. She needs to get up earlier so she can fit a little hair maintenance into her morning ritual.

I really hope Dorinda gets a therapist. She has a problem and it doesn’t make her look good. She does have beautiful eyes though.

I don’t care if Bethenny turns into a raging bitch this season. I will always admire how much she has done with her relief work.

Why do the women on this franchise seem like real people with real problems & friendships and every other franchise seems so fake?

Real what? Real stupid, real incompetent? Who doesn’t know that scrambled and boiled eggs won’t do a lot of cross contaminating? I know people from New York and every single one of them knows the different types of cooked eggs. Maybe Carole thought they would bring her boiled egg still in the shell so she could take it home and eat it later since she doesn’t cook. That doesn’t explain the cross contamination fear though.

One of the traits of women with anorexia is that they don’t allow any food they are eating to touch a different food on their plate. That was my first thought. Carol even looks the part.

Illuminating! My sister had a friend who’s food couldn’t touch other food. We laughed at (and with) her during meals because we thought it was so funny and strange. She was very, very thin but quite elderly, so anorexia never crossed my mind. In hindsight, she’s probably anorexic.

My husband is like that. All of his food has to be completely separate on his plate and heaven forbid if one thing touches something else. It’s a thing he has had since childhood and he can’t explain why. It’s just a thing he has.

It’s hard for me to work up any sympathy for Dorinda. She is lonely without Richard. Her life has changed. John doesn’t fill that place in her heart yet she cant show 1 scoonce of sympathy for Sonja who is lonely for John Morgan and her daughter. Sonja’s life has changed. Dorinda this loss only counts if someone gets buried..

What is up with Bethenny? She loves and forgives everyone. Where did the aliens hide Bethenny’s mind?

Given Carole’s years in the dating game, I cannot belueve that there is a plan for exclusive friends with benefits. Good for Adam. He is having his cake and eating it too, so to speak.

It is hard to have sympathy for Dorinda’s pain when she has so little sympathy for Sonja’s and was really mean! Bu ti do think that it comes from pain, for some people lashing out and anger are the first response to pain. They were for me and I do think Dorinda needs some grief counselling in order to get better.

Richard died of liver failure in 2011. Has she been this angry since 2011? They were married 5 yrs though I somehow thought that they had been married a longer time. He has been dead lo ger than they were married. He may have been the Love of Dorinda’s life but she has had time to deal with it. When she said she met John 6 months after he died, that seemed a little too quick.

She’s disrespectful to John. It has to bother him for her to idealize her late husband.

This episode made me feel for Dorinda so much. If you are at the point where you know you’re about to be filmed for a nationally-televised reality show, and you’ve been drinking so much that you’re incoherent before 7:00, you are wrestling with some demons. I think Bethenny really cares, but hanging Dorinda out to dry on camera was tough love a bit too tough for me. I love Dorinda and I’m rooting for her and I want her to be happy. I think she should just let John dote on her and get off TV. And talk to professionals privately about her grief. She’s wonderful and is just going through a really tough time. She deserves happiness.

I am beginning to feel about Dorinda like I do about Erika. She was fun to watch the first couple of seasons, but now she is just becoming unhinged before our eyes and it is sad.

Its ’80s upper east side rich. Truly depicts her style to me. Old school, Stuben goblets, majolica pottery…. You had to have been around to appreciate.

Ramona has been able to update. Sonja has not because one thing leads to another. Fix the pipe, then replace the faucet, etc. You just can’t pick these things up at Home Depot for a townhouse like hers.

She mentioned, Venetian Plaster, when updating bath walls. Very ’80$$s. Reality check needed. Why didn’t Fredrick and Bethenny step in?

@Mary: The Venetian plaster is not an 80s thing. It would be the proper treatment for keeping within the accurate authenticity for the time period of when the home was built. I believe her home was built in the early 1900s if not late 1800s. Updating the “jewelry” of a home like fixtures can be fun and add to the bottom line, but the “bones” like wall should be as authentic as possible. She is wise to just not take the cheap easy way and slap up some sheet rock.

Agreed, I’m a designer and just saw venetian plaster in a friend’s project and it. Was. GORGEOUS. It has to be the good kind- variations of a single color/tone (not multicolored) with some sheen/polish. Anyway, I was blown away, it was super chic and modern.
Ramona’s place was done really cheaply, I can identify almost every piece in her home – it is mostly of the cheaply made variety. Nothing is high end and certainly not anything a wealthy person would be buying. Sonja’s furnishings may be old but they are/we’re expensive!

Haven’t we all seen MDLNY? Absolutely no one under the age of 70 will rent Sonja’s townhouse without a full gut-job and remodeling. It’s out-dated and non-functional.

She’s better off selling and letting one of Fredrik’s developers strip it to the brick and start over from scratch. Lovely vintage wallpaper, Venetian plaster, blah, blah, blah… it means absolutely nothing in Manahattan.

So i know that Dorinda was drunk and sort of disrespectful but she did make a valid point. Aid money is amazing when disaster strikes as it provides immediate relief but aid money rarely provides sustainable relief.
I am haitian and lived the earthquake and as much as help was needed, billion of dollars were spent with nothing to show for. The country was swamped with NGOs who came in with help but the core of their funding went to housing, salaries for their personal, etc.
The tent cities that Mr Capponi mentionned still exist 8 years later…not much has changed for a lot of the people affected by the situation. The aid although welcomed is often times misguided, it comes in the form of pricy imported bottled water instead of installing a well and water purification system or even using that money to buy cheaper local bottled water… so in the end the people who lost everything and who are in need still lack the basic infrastructure to carry on as time lapses and bottled water becomes less available
So Dorinda s delivery was wrong and her timing also as it was her first time meeting these people but her point was valid
Sorry for the long boring and not so fun tirade but thought i needed to get it out there

So you are there now, with Intenet access and probably water and housing. What are you doing to help the rest of your country now? Perhaps there comes a time that when some get on their feet they turn to help others rather than waiting for more outside help. Because you see, that was the point that I thought Dorinda was trying to make, but truly it was so incomprehensible who could say really.

Dorinda made me cringe, that man clearly does every little bit he can, which is much more than most.

Did anyone else notice in B and Dorinda’s d&m, B said that Dorinda had more chance of her husband walking through the door than Sonja and that Sonja knew that She fcked it up.

The whispers of her cheating have been around since she started on the show, pretty sure Jill Z mentioned them years ago.

I was rather surprised that BStrong/DeliveringGood only raised just over a 1 million dollars of relief for Puerto Rico, Houston, Mexico, Dominica, Virgin Islands, etc. I thought the effort was much more massive.

But she also got the planes donated! And I think ships were mentioned. Plus volunteers. She said 25 people will be passing out the gift cards. Volunteers have to be fed and housed. The figure of $1 million doesn’t put a value on the use of planes or the value of volunteers.

And how would you know whether or not im helping? When reading up on Haiti, u will find countless stories of outside help gone bad…most notably the red cross who raised millions on behalf of the country but delivered “5 homes”.
The point Dorinda was making (from what i understand) was a lot of people throw in money that go to waste as the money is not used for sustainable projects that would allow for the population to be self sufficient…therefore money is spent but the situation never gets better…sort of like a wound who needs surgery but gets a band aid instead

It boggles my mind that celebrities and others still participate in concerts and stuff asking ppl to donate….sorry, just seeing the words ‘Red Cross’ just pissed me off, lol

I used to date someone who had a middle management job for the Red Cross that paid a six figure salary. He was a middle manager that didn’t now how to do the things the people above him or below him did. Often worked from home and spent his days at the office sexting. He eventually got fired.

I knew then never to donate to the Red Cross.

The disaster in Haiti and how it was handled are the reasons I no longer give to large charitable organizations. The money you donate gets filtered and filtered through the organizations and corrupt government officials until the actual victims are getting pennies out of my dollar. These episodes were filmed shortly after the hurricane hit PR and the immediate daily needs of the people needed to be met stat. That’s what Bethenny’s organization did and when someone gave a dollar that whole dollar went to aid the PR people. No one was taking 20 cents of my dollar for advertising and 10 cents to cover the utilities on a charities building and 18 cents for a CEO salary and most of all none of it ever crossed the palms of any government official so they could whittle away at it. When the hurrican hit PR I found a family and got money directly to them to totally avoid any organizations. Once I heard what Bethenny was doing I trusted her with additional money.

The federal government encourages payroll deductions for charitable contributions. A big booklet is published that discloses the percentage taken by the charity for administration etc. I was shocked at how big a chunk some of these big, well-known charities take.

Well said. She went in soon after the storm ravaged the island and went to the people and gave them directly some help. I think the people who keep criticizing her should explore within themselves where this reasoning is really coming from because it sounds like it’s about you (those who critize) and not her, the relief work she has done, or the people of PR. For my part, I’m grateful for the help she has given our people. Do you really think that someone who has no drinking water would refuse her a gallon of water because she could be doing so for publicity? Nope! They would say “gracias! Que dios la bendiga y se lo multiplique “. Oh, by the way there is corruption everywhere…

But no she wants to bitch about her boy toy and get a mani pedi.

      Oh, FFS.

Housewives go to lunch and get mani/pedis as a reason to get together to film. It’s their job. It’s not a situation of “I really should be in a disaster zone distributing aid, but I’d rather get my nails done instead”.

The whole reason for that scene was to get a reaction from Carole when Ramona tells her that Bethenny took Dorinda to Puerto Rico and not her. This is the producers stirring the turd in order to create conflict. From the inflection in Ramona’s voice it was obvious that production told her to say that and in that way.

The trip was a done deal at that point, but yes, Carole’s a total asshole for not omniciently knowing what Bethenny is doing at all times, not knowing that going along was even an option, and finally, for not getting into her time machine to go back to the planning stage and asking Bethenny to go along too. She really should have done all of those things.

Still, I’d Carole is going to bring up her work experience then… why not use it from a humanitarian standpoint if not a friendship one? I mean it’s a great effort that deserves as much attention as possible. She knew what Bethenny was doing— she admitted to donating and Be Strong has been ALL over social media.
No shame in a mani pedi but if you don’t ask about what someone is doing? They’re not likely to ask you to be involved. And that’s on Carole. Not Bettheny who spent every free moment collecting donations and hand delivering them.

It seems like Bethenny is intentionally setting Dorinda up by labeling her a drunk, as payback for their fight in Mexico. I noticed every season that Bethenny gets slighted or embarrassed by one of the girls, she goes after them next season, but veiled under the guise of “concern”. She did that to Ramona last season, LuAnn the season before.

Dorinda naps every day, was traveling and didn’t eat and Bethenny had her in her room for drinks talking about John and Dennis, then another drinks at bar. But it’s obvious Bethenny is setting Dorinda up for an alcoholic label, to discredit Dorinda. Bethenny is vile.

Sonja was just rude and sexually harassing that photographer, completely unacceptable behavior. Can you imagine if Sonja were a man speaking that way to a hired employee? It’s trashy behavior.

Bethenny is doing a fantastic job of making Dorinda look like a drunk. She’s been drunk in every episode for the past two seasons and often requires subtitles. Bethenny manages to make Dorinda look drunk in scenes she is not even in. She even gets Dorinda to take an afternoon nap to sleep off the day drinking so she can get back to boozing again the same night. She’s a crafty one that Bethenny. It’s all a huge set up!

Dorinda has never seemed to be 100% into John – I think she believes he’s on a lower level than she was used to when she was married to Richard, and he probably is – but only socially. She lived a very upper class life with Richard, loved living in England, and it isn’t available to her now. I have no doubt, however, that she was very much in love with him, and devastated when he died. Adjusting to being a widow is hard, especially no longer being part of a couple, and I guess having plenty of money doesn’t fill the void in her life, although, to the average person, it seems like it would help a lot.

I like Dorinda very much, but I think she’s quite unhappy deep down, and that’s why she lashes out. She laughs a lot, entertains well, but there’s a hole in her heart since Richard died, and I think that’s why she drinks too much. Her behavior lately seems to be getting more outrageous, which isn’t good. Since she doesn’t seem to want to live with John, I think she should put herself on the market again and look for someone who is more like Richard was. She can be a very funny, charming woman and could be an asset to a businessman, if she didn’t over-imbibe. I hate seeing her so sad, especially questioning how long she’d be dead before anyone missed her. Now you know that’s not true, but she’s obviously feeling vulnerable.

I was surprised to hear Carole say that Adam wanted to date someone else. It seemed like she had just said that he wasn’t interested in seeing anyone else, and she seemed to think they were kind of back on course. It must have been quite a blow to her ego, but at least he was honest with her, although she didn’t seem to see it that way. It will be a hard adjustment for her.

Good luck to Sonja – hope she rents out her townhouse successfully – it looks like it needs quite a bit of fixing up. Also, congrats to Bethanny for everything she’s doing in Puerto Rico, and her honesty in confronting Dorinda about her drinking. Her heart is in the right place.

Dorinda for all her crying and rage has never truly mourned Richard or made any kind of realistic life for herself since his death. Sex and partying with a man that you consider as a place holder will not work for her. It is demeaning to both of them. She is right about living alone and should have something available to her (as we all should) in case of an emergency. If Dorinda wants to associate with movers and shakers she has ample funds to be welcomed by any number of organizations that need the time and money that she can provide. However, no nonprofit wants an abusive drunk to represent them. She needs to clean herself up and do something that will help with those feelings of anger and hopelessness that seem to drive her.
Sonja seems ready to push through some of the BS that she has been living in. It she does not unload or rent that property she lives in, I will want to kick her in the butt.
Hate knowing that Lu is leading up to a great fall, but it seems as though she is making moves in the right direction to rebuild since the Count, and miserable little Tom. She is the type of woman who “needs” a man like a fish needs a bicycle. Slow down girl, even if it means being uncomfortable in your social circle. Take a good look at some of those couples and enjoy your freedom and family.
Go Beth! If you are type A and not the best at personal relationships I want to see some business smarts. Kadooz to you!
Ramona is an offensive teletubby. She waddles around and we all do our best to ignore her but she just won’t go away. Horrible last night on WWHL and she managed to call Andy Anthony. Ignorant and abusive female.
Tins is stuck in Jr. High, and Right now Carole seems to be right their with her. Good luck to both of them with their “steadies”. Why do I feel the need to trash their lockers?

I thought the conversation between Dorinda and Bethenny was powerful. I agree with Tamara and others who said RHONY seems more real and genuine than the other shows. I wish the other shows were like this–that is the point I made about the RHOBH reunion. Don’t force them together; show real friends with friends. I want to see genuine conversations like the one between Bethenny and Dorinda, not endless rehashing of petty misunderstandings between people who are not real friends to start with. I don’t like all the mess about alliances and who will film with whom.

If Sonja would just declutter, it would do worlds of good for her place.

Ramona is a snake for gaslighting Sonja and bad-mouthing her to others.

Something Carole said made me think she was the one who had cooled things off with Adam, and he was asking to get back together–until all of a sudden he told her he went out with someone else. I think it was the quick switch from begging her back to saying he met someone else that threw Carole.

I agree that Carole should have asked Bethenny if she could go and help if she wanted to go, instead of waiting to be invited.

A serious question and perhaps TT knows the inside scoop. Does Bravo make it a requisite that the cast of its reality shows must drink alcohol? It seems to me that a large percentage of the Bravo “stars” overindulge. As a person who may have given Nick Cage’s “Leaving Las Vegas” character a run for his money, I believe that many of these people do more than social drinking, or even hard-party drinking. Right now, other than Asa and LVP, and Cameron, I can’t come up with one person who doesn’t drink way too much. Maybe a Teddi. Even Kyle hit the bottle a bit hard this season.

Not speaking of you 🙂 the word alcoholic is so negative and super charged that most people. My father died because of at at age 43 and he was physcially addicted, I am an alcoholic too albeit a ‘high functioning’ one until i quit 7.5 years ago. Just quit no AA (and benzos that week too — yeah, using Klonopin as my hangover helpers, HELLO insane daily behavior). Dorinda is stupid to not think her alcohol use is a major problem — I would call her an alcoholic, but that’s just me. Being physically addicted isn’t the barometer for it. There is a spectrum.

Smells just like my brother who was an alcoholic. I never see him drink but know he does. He has an okay career, four kids, appears normal. Some people just live their life that way. Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico on September 20th.
Bethenny had raised money for planes, food water, emergency kits and gift card for her first of many trips on Oct 3 where she put food cash and water into the hands of people outside of San Juan. She was the first person to come to their aid because no one else thought it was safe enough to go there. http://people.com/tv/bethenny-frankel-charters-four-planes-to-aid-hurricane-maria-victims/

Donald Trump stood in a warehouse tossed a few rolls of paper towels again and left. On October 4th

On October 11th the Department of Treasury began to assess their offices so they could get a system in place to distribute cash. As of October 23 still not direct financial aid had been provided to the citizens. Although Bethenny had made half a dozen trips by this point.

There is a pictograph to help you comprehend the situation if you scroll down. https://www.fema.gov/blog/2017-09-29/overview-federal-efforts-prepare-and-respond-hurricane-maria

Why compare what a private citizen did with what the president did? It’s not the president’s job to personally engage in disaster relief activities nor is it something that would be smart for him to do even if he wanted to. If a private citizen chooses to do so, that’s great. One has nothing to do with the other. A private citizen is free to put her life at risk to help others in a disaster zone. A government agency is not as free to put the lives of its staff at risk. Therefore, if bethenny got there first, that’s doesn’t mean the government did something wrong.

Appreciate LuAnn’s candor in explaining that she neglected her other relationships, including those with her children, whilst with Tom. Hopefully she doesn’t repeat that going forward.

There are two distinct personalities in Dorinda. The one we all know and love and Drunk Dorinda. Drunk Dorinda is a dick! There’s a long pattern of the same drunken, dickish behaviour, so I do think Bethenny was qualified in making that statement. Hopefully, this is a wake-up call, though time will tell…

Carole still continues to bug me. One one hand she’s actually quite funny (sometimes) and I do feel for her as it must be hard when an ex that she’s still pretty full on with, moves on… BUT on the other hand, she makes these little snotty statements and its right back to square one, ugh!

Oh and I thought Bethenny’s way of describing Richard was a tad weird. ‘Slightly powerful’ and ‘slightly political’. He was well respected and sucessful in hedgefund management and the field of economics in general. He also wrote the campaign speeches for the first woman to ever run for vice-president.

I wonder how she would react if someone said she was making ‘slight’ improvements in Puerto Rico or that her Skinny Girl brand was ‘slightly known’? Nah. I’ve noticed she has a knack for deminishing others achievements.

that makes zero sense. nobody called her “the ambassador”, her efforts were certainly not minor, and you’re seriously going to discredit massive relief efforts by a businessperson because they will obviously get good press from it and their brand may benefit?

well then, I guess bill and melinda gates ought to stop their philanthropy then, and anyone else with gazillions of dollars and businesses to run. Unfortunately, those who do charity as their PRIMARY BUSINESS don’t usually have the cash to funnel into said charities, that comes from other sources. So how about you stop criticizing those that have much and are willing to give just because they may see benefits to their brand from their good works?

    1) Dorinda needs help, definitely alcoholic behavior. I don’t have sympathy for someone who stays with a man in order to have a man. Cop out! Get some direction. If you don’t need money, volunteer, help others, get some purpose rather than day drink yourself into oblivion.

    2) All hail the queen Bethenny. She had had her super abrasive moments, but WOW! Giving back as one should with having financial success. Awesome!

    3) Sonja, sell that relic and get yourself a nice place and stop being floozy floozerton. Getting too old for that.

    4) Tinsley doesn’t bug me so much, except for her excessive clinginess to Scott.

    5) Lu. Meh.

    6) Ramona. ??? She cray.

I’m certain I’ve mentioned it before that Dorinda is clearly self-medicating with at least alcohol because of estrogen deprivation. Estrogen deprivation was the cause of Rosie O’Donnell’s very public downward spiral a few years ago, & she was finally properly diagnosed & prescribed. The key giveaway is the rapid onset of RAGE, & Dorinda has it big-time. It isn’t grief for the loss of Richard (that would have displayed sooner if part of her grieving process, I think). Hie thee to a very good endocrinologist, Dorinda, & I think your thirst could disappear in a matter of days. Your need for John could disappear just a quickly, as I suspect he’s part of of this self-medication bit. Friends should not support the drinking/rage stuff, but they SHOULD support Dorinda & guide her to the help she needs, which is medical, not AA.

I’m just curious, how do you know this? Dorinda could be facing many different issues and I don’t see how watching her for a few minutes per week on tv makes you, or anyone else, qualified to diagnose such a complex individual.

Hormones were academic specialty (I am retired biomedical anthropologist who did the 2nd study of pheromones in humans way back when; I’m also the 1st researcher to give estrogen to male mice, even though docs were prescribing willy-nilly to human males) + lived it; took YEARS to convince idiot docs that being barely in the “normal” zone doesn’t mean you are normal for you. Finally got new doc who glanced at my chart, said “Ok, you are 45 so you are old enough to take estrogen.” If you’ve watched Dorinda over the seasons you’ve seen the changes in her body (not talking face), her drinking & her rage. It’s the progression of the rage that is the real hormonal tell.

All I am saying is that you cannot possibly diagnose Dorinda from watching her on a program. For all you know she is on estrogen replacement. You don’t know that she doesn’t need AA. We all have experiences in life but that only makes us an expert on US, not on anyone else.

She may very well be on HRT, but the appropriate dosage typically changes every few years. Unfortunately, most women are not monitored closely enough & my educated guess is that many of those on HRT who’ve been on it more than 3-4 years without a dosage change could probably use a re-evaluation.

Estrogen. If you are in tune with your body, you’ll likely notice it needs less & less with ageing. I’ve reduced the dosage several times over the years, but still take it at 75. No, it doesn’t cause cancer; it just doesn’t prevent it. BTW, I have a date tomorrow.

I prefer doc shopping–so so easy these days with Google & Health Grades. I prefer those who are med school faculty members–nothing like bright upwardly mobile cut-throat students to keep the profs on their toes. I read the docs’ publications to see if their specialties are in line with my needs & then their patient reviews to know whether or not they are truly patient-friendly. A gynecologist is one option; an endocrinologist with the right specialty is another. IMHO best would be a gynecologist specializing in endocrinology. I most often drive 8 hours round trip to Duke or UNC for my appointments because it is worth it to get the best. I’m on Medicare, so the cost is the same except for the gas. I use my frequent flyer miles to get eye care in California for the same reason. The patient is the most important part of the medical team, so buckle down & do the required research. I currently need knee replacement surgery (oh, joy), so am going through the whole process myself for this & it takes a lot of time to do it right, but this is a biggie & I want to make sure I get the best care, since it’s not going to cost a penny more. Sorry for going so off topic, TT, but wanted to give a full answer.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve been scolded for this before… but why aren’t women of a certain age more aware of the chemical/biological/mental effects of menopause? The most recent obvious example was Siggy from RHONJ. I’m a gay man so I have no personal experience with it. But most of the women in my life (sisters, friends and cousins) seemed to have been better prepared for the “change” than anyone on these reality shows.

Oh sweetie, you just love wandering right into the line of fire, don’t you. The simple answer is NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT. Menopause is considered this shameful time of life where you are no longer valuable because you cannot produce offspring. I went a few YEARS wondering what the fuck was happening to me because I didn’t even know when to expect it let alone what to expect. It took a gay friend of mind sending me for hormone testing to figure out that might be something I needed to know. I went to one of the best doctors in Atlanta and basically was just told I was in perimenopause and my periods would stop soon. And that I was vitamin B and D deficient.

There is very little available for “women’s health care.” Yolanda Foster for example was going through menopause and spent millions of dollars trying to figure out how to feel better and wtf was going on with her. I’m still waiting to come out the other side. So if you have some knowledge about what I am a supposed to be doing, then I’m willing to listen.

I believe Bethenny when she said “I know this behavior” about Dorinda’s drunken raging. And her telling Dorinda that she scared her. I am sure it brings up childhood memories of her homelife, something which we carry deep inside and causes us to react in certain ways. I don’t think Dorinda believes she has an alcohol problem. I wonder if she is getting therapy.

I have great admiration for Bethenny’s aid work. She has the skills and personality to get things done and she channeled them for really good work. I don’t think for a minute that she is looking for self-aggrandizement. And I totally believe that she is on the internet constantly listening to problems and trying to find solutions.

Carol really needs to move on from Adam. She is embarrassing herself when she brags about having sex with him all the time — really? You are a grown woman on national tv.

It was sad to see Sonja freaking out about her dirty house and her housekeeper story. Does anyone think she has done anything to repair the various problems? Her story to the RE agent is that she could never give up the house, yet in her confessional, I thought she said she’d like to be done with it. Such a big house with so many problems. She is understandably overwhelmed. Probably best to sell as is to someone who wants to gut it, as I don’t think she can handle managing all the repairs that need to be done. I thought the photographer did a great job.

The truly disturbing scene for me was how Luann was talking about how now she gets to reconnect with her kids because it was all about Tom. No Lu, it’s all about you are your partying. They live in the city? Not across the country! Her son like 20 and her daughter 22? They are still young!
She had such a disconnect talking about her kids. Now she has a minute for them – that’s so nice Lu! Once a new guy comes along , she won’t remember their names.

Oh Sonja, the best bet for her is to just sell the townhouse… Its on the wrong side of Lexington and nobody will want to rent that mess when they can rent other units around… If she sells, she can make a hell of a profit and not have to worry about fixing it up.. Her daughter is away at boarding school and will (probably) want to be back in the city for college.. Sonja should just get a nice Upper East Side 2 or 3 bedroom apartment in a bougie coop on Fifth or Madison so she could have the cachet she wants people to think she has.

I love Dorinda, but Bethenny is right, she does get mean when she’s drunk.

NY is my favorite franchise.. not just because I used to live there, but because of how drastically they changed from Season 1.. They started out all snooty and proper and status obsessed… and now they just dont give a fuck lmao.

I’m pretty sure its owned outright… you cant be a JP Morgan heir and choose to get a mortgage lmfaooo… unless you’re renting out the unit and your loan is a low interest rate loan, you’re better off paying all cash.

She wants to rent it out probably to have a continuous income stream separate of the show and her flailing businesses. The bad thing is that townhomes, especially those in the condition hers are in, are rarely options renters want to choose for upkeep reasons. Apartment upkeep are done by the building… Upkeep on townhomes are solely the owners responsibility.

About being a widow: My husband of 45 years will have died 3 years ago, come May 15. There is a huge
hole in my life, however, I’ve not filled it with drink nor a man. Never been much of a drinker, so no credit
for that. As for a new man, since I was married to the perfect man for me, how could I fill those shoes? Life as a single is, admittedly, very different. However, it’s possible. My biggest worry was money. Without
his income, I was strapped. Luckily, I had a mortgage free home to sell, so now things aren’t so tight.

All this is a lead up to my lack of sympathy for Dorinda. She is beautiful, intelligent, fun, well-liked and rich!
So, suck it up, old girl, and turn your hand to something worthwhile to do with what’s left of your life. You live in New York, where there are many, many opportunities to get involved with substantial good
works. I’m sorta saying, get over it. I still mourn my Richard, I still miss him every day, but I don’t allow
it to be the center of my life. There is life after death, so live what’s left.

That was seven years ago, & I’ve concentrated on family & community involvement since then. Adopted a half-blind senior toy poodle a little over a year ago, & that has been a lot of fun–except for her double mastectomy last month that scared me half to death, but even that we’re going to turn into a positive by publicizing her as a breast cancer survivor on social media & teaching other pet owners to check their late-spayed females for signs of tumors. Totally agree wirelessmom, and so many have faced widowhood, and instant single motherhood, with challenges and economic responsibilities that Dorinda could not even begin to fathom – while she travels to Dubai to be with Caroline Stansbury and the international jet-set. And regarding people getting mean – when they get drunk. I personally have found that who people truly are – they become even more so – when they become drunk or get older. If they are mean when young – they become meaner as they age, and if they are sweet – they become sweeter. I have seen Alzheimer’s patients who curse at everyone – while my poor mom was stuck in one phrase she kept repeating to all she met: “I love you”. And, I have observed that if people are really bullies – it can come out when they get drunk. And to me – the way Dorinda went for Sonia, and acts towards others- if she seems to feel she is not being given what comes across as her sense of her due recognition — is very self-entitled and bullyish.

I’ve observed the opposite regarding people who get mean when drunk or with Alzheimer’s. I’ve known very sweet people who become mean when drunk, and one of my friends was so distressed when her kind, loving grandfather turned into a mean, cursing man after he got Alzheimer’s. I think it can happen either way. Mean become meaner, or nice become mean.

The situation with Adam and Carole is cringeworthy. She’s behaving like an insecure high school girl who is desperate to get her boyfriend back. Adam needs to think about what he wants. He should date. He should consider if he wants children. He should experience as much as he can. Carole is holding him back.

I liked her in past seasons. She seemed reasonable about the relationship. I felt she understood it was temporary, and Adam would one day decide to move on. Now she’s just desperately holding onto him when it seems he only wants occasional sex. She looks ridiculous.

I cannot stand Dorinda. Her loud screaming matches with other women grate my nerves. She’s a rude person. It’s not cute or funny. Her insistence that her pain is worse than anyone else’s is truly gross.

I’m not sympathetic to Sonja. She believes she’s superior and treats her friends poorly by selling stories to the media. She’s the least self aware person on RHONY. She needs psychiatric help.

I love Lu. She’s resilient. She’s fun and doesn’t take herself too seriously. She’s not afraid to go for what she wants, and she owns up to her mistakes for the most part.

I have nothing positive to say about Ramona. I’ve always wondered why her eyes bulge out and body jerks around wildly. Possibly drugs.

Bethenny is my favorite housewife of all of them. She is someone I admire. That woman works harder than anyone else on the housewives franchises. Her situation with her ex is awful and terrifying.

I totally agree Wireless. Dorinda, you have no clue, don’t sit there and say your lifestyle has completely changed when you jet set around to Dubai, Palm Beach , the Bahamas etc and you do your talking head from a mansion in the Berkshires and manage your trust from Richard. A complete lifestyle change is when your card is declined in the grocery story buying food for your kids and now working a minimum wage job in a retail store where you used to spend $2000 a pop. I’m so glad you have the luxury of taking a nap at 4:00 everyday and that didn’t change. I used to be a big Dorinda fan but not so much any more.

Dorinda reminds me of my aunt so I have a great deal of sympathy for her. My aunt lost my uncle on his 30 birthday. He pulled over to help two men and he was shot. It was terrible and their little boy was only 2 at the time. I was 5 years old when this happened and I just turned 41, my aunt has never been able to move on. She had a total break down when he was killed and refused to let out family see their child. She said it was too painful for her to be near us. Years later she had a mental breakdown and was hospitalized, then she finally agreed to allow my mom to help her and slowly let our family back in her life. They were married for only four years when he died but she she always says my uncle “saved” her. She cannot allow herself to let go. I feel so badly for her, she’s a good person but like Dorinda she relied on the alcohol too much.

Agree, Dorinda was horrible last night. She does need help. Dorinda jumped into a relationship with John too early, then hired for RHONY. She thought by keeping busy and dating she could bury the grief but it always bubbles up. Dorinda is at that point now. I get everything she said. I also think John might be pressuring her to get married.

Dorinda is an Alcoholic. There’s no nice way to say it. I myself love a drink but if someone is counting on me or I have an important event my anxiety filled self will hold off of the booze. The people who can’t contain themselves for a short period of time need help. And I like Dorinda, but there are no denying the facts.

THIS EPISODE. BY FAR. THE BEST IN HW HISTORY. It was raw, it was real. Fuck you people that don’t get Dorinda. Bethenny does. She was fabulous with Dorinda; understanding it’s not just the booze. Bethenny’s humanity, with respect to Puerto fucking Rico was beyond the pale. Ditto with her perspective regarding Dorinda. She GOT/GETS that Dorinda is in pain. Wow.
Sonja, and the filming of her house. Overwhelming. Another painful, real insight.
Also loved Luann and her daughter, REAL shit again. Even in the confessionals…
Watch it again, and get the nuances. Prayer and gratitude comes to mind. For all of us.

It’s not shocking to me than an individual with a private plane can respond to a disaster before a government agency. A government agency is a bureaucracy that has to do things by the book and consider the safety of its staff. A private citizen can do things with no red tape and with no concern for her own safety. There’s really no comparing the two. So, I’m not impressed that Bethenny got there so quickly. I’m sad that we live in a time where people are conditioned to believe that it’s the government’s job to solve all their problems. If it weren’t for the government, ppl would help in these ways all the time.

Secondly, I really want to appreciate what bethenny did but it is impossible for me to see past her self-aggrandizement. She is desperately seeking a cookie for her actions. There is no humility. It’s all about how great and wonderful she is. It’s so hard to give someone a pat on the back when both of that person’s own hands are already there doing the patting…

Finally, Dorinda was spot on with her question at dinner. Helping ppl is a very slippery slope. If you’ve been there for years, you have to ask yourself have you just created dependents? Are you giving ppl fish or teaching them to feed themselves? Sometimes i wonder how some of these people would feed their hungry egos if they didnt have the poor black and brown ppl in the world to help (and then brag incessantly about helping)… And are the poor black and brown ppl really any better off? If not, is that perhaps the point?

Thank you for your comment, I disagree with you but appreciate using arguments without the hate.

It was weeks after the disaster, and still no government – in Europe it would be not acceptable. And it is not about government taking care, it is about government doing its job. I pay taxes just for that. If bureaucracy is the problems – it is government’s fault. “If it weren’t for the government, ppl would help in these ways all the time.” – so give me my taxes back and don’t put Housewives into prison for not paying taxes!

I suppose everyone sees what he/she wants. You see B wanting a cookie, I see someone happy that her actions are successful. Besides, this debate is as old as human civilization. Is a good deed really a good deed? Or is it a selfish action to make me feel better? What counts is the result, in this case – quantified, hard numbers provided. So if someone gets food I don’t care if B is shitting herself with excitement that she is awesome, because – she is. People have food.

Finally, I do agree with you, that Dorinda was trying to make a good point. But she was so drunk, that it didn’t matter. I was just waiting for her to vomit across the table in an uncontrollable eruption of stomach’ content.

You don’t pay taxes so that the government will do its job. You pay taxes because it is required by law. In turn, you Hope that the government will do its job but you really have very little say in the matter. It’s naive to rely on the government or to expect a government agency to be more speedy and agile than an individual.

If I see a red car and you see that car as blue, are we both just seeing what we want to see or is only one of us seeing it correctly? It’s not an age old question because there is no good deed that is not selfish at its core. So that’s not my issue. Doing the deed alone can provide those happy feelings. However, Bethenny wanted more. She wanted kudos and praise from her peers. It was gross to watch. That’s my point. The fact that people were helped is a totally different topic. I understand that’s “what counts” in your opinion but it’s really a red herring because it doesn’t prove or disprove my point.

Someone makes an argument that includes a logical and well-reasoned basis and thought process that you disagree with so you dismiss her as delusional because you’re unable to provide an equally well-reasoned counter-argument? This is the sorry state of human beings these days. They’re not capable of debating a topic with facts or logic so they label someone they disagree with as a bad person so they don’t have to deal with them.

I’m not crazy or seeing things. Bethenny’s actions can clearly be perceived as bragging. “I did this, I did that, I was there first, No one has done what I did, I shipped this much, I raised this much, I gave away this much…on and on.” However, I have enough of a rational and clear mind to know that it’s possible that she wasn’t bragging and that she was just eager to share her success. One can never really know what’s in someone’s mind. All we can do is make guesses and inferences. Her behavior can be interpreted in more than one way. So, it doesn’t make me delusional to interpret it one way just because you interpret it another. What’s delusional is to believe that there’s only one way (your own way) to interpret her behavior. If the way I interpret it is so delusional, then you should be able to easily explain why…but you can’t. So, you’ll call me delusional and probably pretend like debating with me is not worth it. Weak.

Even the person I was responding to agreed that Bethenny may have been bragging…but argued that it didn’t matter to him if she was.

The one thing that I always loved about the New York franchise was that charity work was simply a part of their social norm. In the early seasons, there was always at least one if not more charity events being sponsored by the women per season. Somewhere along the line, the charity work started taking more and more of a back seat to the petty fights and sniping. Bethenny’s work with Puerto Rico seems like a call back to prior seasons and I really appreciate that.

Yes , just read it. Going to a hurricane ravaged area with no electricity might be the 1 time not to get blotto drunk. So because you didn’t know there was a dinner , it’s Bethanny’s fault you drank way too much just like at Haloween you blamed the drink like saying” that orange drink wasn’t nice to me” Are you blaming the drink Dorinda?? Maybe drinking 10 of them was your fault. She never says she drinks too much , much easier to blame no sleep, no food , too strong drink, never “I can’t stop drinking”.
She’s also going after Luann on Twitter. (Which was kinda funny)

Bethenny is smart and calculating. Two ideas that popped into my head while I was watching:
    1) B knew she had to forgive Dorinda and get her on that plane to Puerto Rico. Her plan is to let Carole know she’s no longer the favorite. That plan works best if someone else was invited to Puerto Rico rather than Carole.

    2) B knows Dorinda is a slurring drunk half the time, so what’s up with her taking Dorinda for drinks at a bar at 4:00 and then back to her apartment for more??? And then springing it on her that they have a dinner at 7:00! She was calculating in getting Dorinda drunk so she could have a memorable scene or two with her, and insert herself into one of the dramatic moments of the series.

This is just ridiculously stupid. Bethenny doesn’t eat food either, and yet she went to all the same places that Dorinda did and was not drunk. Dorinda was drinking in her room when someone had to remind her they were filming at seven. Alll the call times are mapped out well before the trip..

Also Bethenny was clearly embarrassed in front of her colleagues. There is no way she would orchestrate an event that would embarrass her or her colleagues. To say otherwise is simply absurd.

You missed her point. She wasn’t trying to say Bethenny got Dorinda drunk, she was saying Dorinda is a known drunk. So, by going out with her for drinks, she was sure to get drunk and then be drunk and the suprise dinner.

Also, Bethenny wasn’t embarrased because Dorinda was drunk. She was angry because Dorinda didn’t kiss their a$$es while they bragged about their charity work and instead asked a tough question about whether that work does any real good.

OMG, no one gets anyone drunk that doesn’t want to get drunk. I can’t count the number of times I’ve left a bar with 2 or 3 full drinks sitting because someone insisted that I wanted more than I wanted. Dorinda got drunk because Dorinda wanted to keep drinking. Shifting the blame to someone else that didn’t get drunk doesn’t make sense.

I love this season! I keep episodes of RHONY to watch them when I need to get some energy.

I have to say I agree with TT. The dinner was disturbing, Dorinda leaving the restaurant was so drunk that for me she looked like an old lady with Parkinson’s disease. But the day after was much worse. I mean, for me it would be a walk of shame, and Dorinda was cheerful like Mikey Mouse. I just hope she really went into therapy in 2018, but it doesn’t look like it…

Dorinda made a comment in her blog that Bethenny made people look bad to make herself look good. STFU Dorinda, you do a great job of making yourself look bad , nobody has to say anything! What’s stopping you from continuing with Richard’s charity work? You still have the connections and money to do so but you are busy going to parties and traveling and feeling sorry for yourself by getting blackout drunk. Do something positive with your life! I really used to love you but your true colors are showing this season.
