Jephte & Shawniece

These two seem like they are in a good place again. But the wind blowing could turn it to crap again at any moment. These two have an argument about whose car they are taking somewhere. Shawniece’s car needed gas and an oil change. So they took Jephte’s car. Why is this even a thing? Jephte says he doesn’t like when they decide on something and then do something else. He’s not able to roll with the punches when things don’t go as planned. Next week they seem good at first, and then pissy with each other again.

Jon & Molly

They two have split up already. Molly goes to talk to her sister about the situation. We don’t really see Molly explaining anything. Jon tells his friend that they are getting a divorce.

The Husbands

They guys meet up to talk at Ryan’s place. Jon has to tell the guys that he is getting divorce. Jephte tells a really biased version of the corn maze disaster.  Both Jephte and Ryan are now worried about their marriages. Ryan literally says if the were to cut ties, he wouldn’t be heartbroken at all. Jephte says that he’s not in love with Shawniece but he could see himself failing in love with her.

The Wives

The girls meet up for Taco Tuesday at Shawniece’s place. Once again Molly takes no responsibility for her part in the divorce. Jaclyn and Shawniece were floored.

Ryan & Jaclyn

Ryan doesn’t seem to know what he wants to do. His conversation with Jaclyn is weird. He tells Jaclyn that he is still on the fence about going forward. Jaclyn says it’s not going to work with his attitude. Ryan has a very cavalier attitude about decision day.

Jon has to go tell his parents that he is getting a divorce. Jaclyn goes to help Molly pack.  She tells Molly that Ryan seems to have checked out of the marriage. She thinks he’s going to ask for a divorce. Later, Ryan seems to be sorry for their previous conversation. Maybe he will stick it out after all. Then Ryan gives her a locket that has some flowers from the bridal bouquet inside. They are back on track. Until next week, where we see Ryan being a dick again.

I really have no idea what will happen on decision day. But none of these people should stay married.

Ryan drives me crazy. The way he leads Jaclyn on and then pulls the carpet right out from under her is nothing short of cruel, and when he said he could leave her and not feel the slightest bit sad, I wanted to punch him right in his face. I wonder what she’ll think when she sees that? If she wants a marriage where she constantly feels insecure and unloved, then she should stay, because that’s what she’ll get. He’s no more ready to be a husband than my female chihuahua – in fact, I think it will be years, if ever, before he understands what marriage is all about. He’s far too invested in life with his “bros” and doesn’t seem to recognize that, when you get married, your wife should be number one. He’s almost 30, and acts like he’s in his early 20’s. I feel sorry for anyone he hooks up with and really hope Jaclyn has the good sense to realize that only unhappiness can come from being with him.

Molly is a gigantic piece of work. She either doesn’t realize, or won’t acknowledge, what a terrible thing she did to Jon. She was uninvested right from the start and, even though I didn’t like Jon at first, I soon saw that he was a good guy – way too good for her. I bet she has a string of exes who could tell us some stories that would explain her cold behavior.

Jephte also drives me a little nuts. I don’t know, maybe I’m out of touch with relationships in the 21st century, but after living with someone for 7 weeks, having what looks like a pretty good sex life, and sharing so many things, I would expect that he’d have some feelings for her. To say he’s not in love with her but maybe it will happen in the future, kind of surprised me. In a normal dating relationship, that length of time would probably be too early to decide you loved someone, although it can happen, but they’re in the Fast Forward version of that, so not falling in love seems like a big red flag. Who wants to stay married to someone who “might” fall in love with you? Poor Shawniece seems like she’s fallen hard, and I think she’ll be devastated if he decides to bail.

This has been an interesting season, but I still think the Production staff didn’t vet the participants as well as they should have. Shouldn’t Ryan’s bachelor lifestyle have raised some concerns? Molly’s cold personality? Jephte’s hesitation? Maybe they all say the right things when they’re being interviewed, just to get picked, but that’s really unfair to the people they get paired up with.

I thought zShawniece looked a little sad when he said that because I think she’s half in love with him already and if you are not a little bit in love after 7 weeks it doesn’t Bode well.. I also think part as Ryan’s issue is the booze he gets looser and a little meaner when hes drinking ..the next day he seems to regret his words and does something sappy to make up for it . The necklace was a great idea but it seems on genuine come in from him considering the hurtful things he said the day before. Someone made me a similar necklace and earings made out of a real butterfly I think the intentions were good but I can’t help thinking they killed a butterfly to make that Necklace. I could never wear it because it was made out of real butterfly.

He made arrangements to have that necklace made right after the wedding. No, it was production that did that, because he would never come up with that idea on his own. He just had the shitty judgment to give her that gift right after the point when she should have finally dumped him.

She keeps getting clues to dump him, because he’s an asshole who doesn’t want her, but he keeps reeling her back in. I want her to snap out of it. She seems so close to seeing how shitty he really is. I think she wouldn’t try so hard if it weren’t for the loss she went through with her last relationship (I can’t call him an “ex”).

I love you EnglishRose and I don’t think you’re out of touch with 21st century relationships! Marriages work for many of the same reasons they’ve worked for thousands of years. You had a happy, functioning partnership that was still working until sadly your husband was taken from you and you were both well into this century. You of all people have such insight into what makes a marriage work and keep working. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Side note, I hope your grandson is doing better.

Read the vows people! If you don’t like them for your relationship? Change them but as they are vows, keep them.

I got from Jaclyn that she and Ryan had agreed (off cscreen) to stay married after “experiment” time frame but then, she hears from Ryan that he’s still considering bailing? She didn’t hear the conversation Ryan had with the other husbands. Ugh! What an ass! That type of jewelry is custom so either he put that into play weeks prior as a backup make up gift or a staying steady gift…production, period.

Poor Shawneice! I don’t even hate Jephte. I just think he’s so disrespectful to his wife! He is well educated, a teacher plus something on Saturdays, sorry cannot remember what but struck me as wow he’s really an amazing young man! Shawneice is a giver but she seems to have appropriate bounderies and self respect. She just needs his respect!

Molly and Jon. Yikes! Honestly even after last week I was hoping there’d be some kind of production driven fight and they were going to keep moving forward. Yup, I’m a sap and a sucker for love! Molly? I hope if this is how you wanted to launch your “reality career” it bites you in the bum (nod to you there ER)! Goodbye Molly, hellooo Jon!!!!

Molly is cold beyond cold . Only smiles with her teeth not her eyes this is a dead give away to who she really isn’t, chatting up a strange guy in a bar. Also a telltale sign, in front of her husband! I want to slap her..

There is no way that Ryan came up with the flowers in a locket thing on his own. I’m quite sure production had that made for all of them. I was totally expecting Shawniece to get one too. They probably had Molly’s exorcised of demon and thrown into the bottom of a volcano somewhere.

I honestly think after this season they need to hire new ‘experts’ and drastically change the interview process. They matches are so bad it is hard to watch. I think Molly may be the worst person on the planet. Does she know how unlikeable she has portrayed herself?!! Poor Jon. He had no shot with this woman and kudos for not quitting weeks prior. Ryan is the biggest nerd/man child ever in the franchise. I am embarrassed for Jackie that she slept w him at all let alone on national television. The volunteer fireman strip tease literally makes me want to throw hot acid in my eyes. Ick. So bad. So so bad. Shawniece is so desperate and trying so hard that it just makes her look sad and pathetic. Jephte has all the power and she is dying for his approval. I have no idea why she cares, he seems like a boring, stick in his ways brat. This season was horrible and I believe the birth rate in the USA has gone down and caused singles to smile from ear to ear with their decision to not fake it. Horrible season

Odd season. It’s really good having the couples meet and spend time together, just so someone else can relate.
Decisions should be interesting, as well as the six month follow-up. It’s been very unpredictable for us. Truly is a guessing game this season, no doubt about that.

Sorry another comment, but I’m just ten minutes in, and Molly is a liar and sure liked to make history look different, and her as a person who we will all want to be like. Ah, throwing up in my mouth.
She is going to have a tough time finding someone who she can badger into agreeing with her, no matter what, without physical contact. She’s a big ole ugh to me.

I keep thinking there must be something we don’t know about Molly and Jon. Has she had some terrible experience in her past? Has Jon shown some cruelty we don’t know about? It’s very hard to square the nice guy we’ve seen on screen with Molly’s statements that he disgusts her and makes her skin crawl. I keep wondering what more there is that we haven’t seen.

I wonder the same thing. However, we do know that Molly was chatting up another guy in a bar while she was with John, then got pissy about it. Those are actual facts, and there is no good reason for that. We also know she admitted on camera to having a threesome when she was in college. I think she gets off on teasing men. She told Jon about the threesome like it was bait, but why? Don’t you wonder about that? There is something very abnormal about her, and I don’t feel sorry for her.

I don’t feel sorry for Molly either but Jon threw out her “threesome” hx on camera, in their marriage bed. If he thought that was going to woo her? Um, no. Not a smart move no matter how frustrating the situation is!

She admitted to the threesome in the application phase, in the first episode. I’m not sure just how sensitive and private that info was at that point.

And I can understand him saying this in immense frustration over her being so cold to him when having been wild not so long ago. I think if she were such a delicate flower, she would not have told the experts about it on camera.

I know anger and frustration makes a person say some crazy things! I just didn’t like how he threw that in her face. I did some crazy stuff in my college days!

Honestly? Some stuff I’ve never shared and in my opinion not bad or like Molly not unique. I just think she got into this show for all the wrong reasons.

The fact that Jon was only worried about his mom taking his side and having his back, shows part of the reason he’s divorced.

I nominate myself as tribute! LOL
The first episode or 2, I definitely thought Jon seemed like he could just be a douchey “frat bro” type, but as the episodes progressed and we saw the way he dealt with Molly’s insecure/standoffish/cold demeanor, I definitely changed my opinion. He’s obviously not perfect – even though the threesome wasn’t a ‘secret,’ the way he threw it at her in a fight wasn’t great and I definitely cringed, but I could also understand that he was nearing the end of his rope after being really patient with her lack of physical intimacy, and (we know now) the cruel things she’d been saying about his attempts off camera, i.e. ‘my skin crawls when you touch me.’ I think he seems like a kind, funny, fun, PATIENT guy. I live in the Boston area and would absolutely swipe right if I saw him on a dating app!

Ryan & Jacklyn – I’m really worried that she’s going to choose to stay in this marriage; there are SO many red flags with Ryan that have been mentioned- his drinking, his inability to compromise, his juvenile thinking that his wife should just fit into HIS life and what he wants…Even though it seems like she would be devastated if he chose to get a divorce on decision day, hopefully she would end up realizing that it was the BEST thing that could have happened for her, and appreciate that she dodged a bullet! Ryan needs to grow up and understand that a wife is not a piece to complete his puzzle, it’s a partner to change and grow with together.

Shauniece & Jephte – They’ve had their issues, but I actually see them as a good match. I have been super frustrated with both of them at times (mostly Jephte though, and his lack of communication), but they seem to get over their issues rather quickly and make each other laugh a lot. I can’t blame Jephte for saying he’s not in love with Shauniece yet, and I actually think it’s a pretty good sign that he does see himself getting there.

I don’t understand why Molly signed up for this in the first place. At the same time, I get the feeling that Jon is passive-aggressive, and I hated that he recorded Molly. That was very one-sided, and I just think it’s wrong. I don’t like the way that he blames her for *everything* to anyone who will listen. It’s ungentlemanly. While she may deserve the lion’s share of the blame, I believe it takes two to tango.

Ryan is horrible and those two should probably get a divorce. He’s not looking for a wife; he’s looking for a maid/wife/cook/+1/warm body to bear his children. I’m on her side on the relationship stuff 100%. Greasy hair or not, she deserves way better.

I think Jephte & Shawniece are the only ones who have a chance, mostly because Shawniece is such a good wife. Jephte has a lot of growing to do, but I think he’s smart and capable. I wish them the best.

All three of these relationships have one thing in common – one partner is a withholder. Jephte from day one withheld his affections from Shawniece and God did she chase him. I cringed everytime she threw herself at him. Men love the chase and the more she begged for his affections the more he resisted – classic power struggle. Glad they are appearing to work it out, but she better be careful and not feed into this power vacuum. Next, Ryan, the bro-douche. Again, the moment Jacklyn started bitching about him spending so much time away from the marriage, then the power struggle started. Again men like and need to chase – Jacklyn would have been better off to say nothing and go out with her friends and go about her life. Ryan is incredibly immature and selfish – run, run girl – he is not worth your time and will only bring you heartache. On to Molly – what the hell is wrong with that girl? She doesn’t know what she wants – chase, not to be chased? Ultimately a power imbalance between the two, which she lorded over Jon. There is no redemption for Molly – I predict she will be alone for a very long time.

Part of the reason Jephte and Molly for that matter were not as *all in as their partners is because they didn’t apply to be on the show. They were approached.

I believe they agreed to the experiment in theory, but clearly had serious reservations once the cameras started rolling.

Not sure if Ryan was approached or applied to be on.

Being truly in love takes along time,, being attracted to someone is just. Chemicals takes no work or devotion. Found shawniece ‘ behavior offpytting. Too needy. Lap dance at wedding completely inappropriate embarrassing this is a private act. She is learning tho. Ryan sez what he thinks others want to hear rather a self serving guy. Jon is as you all say a good guy when he said into camerain beginning help me help me knew he had great sense of humor. Enjoyed all your comments
