There is a really, really good scripted show on BBC at 8p.m called Killing Eve that we are not watching because of RHOA. Well, I presume y’all are not watching it. I am watching it. I just now had the chance to watch last week’s episode. My DVR is so busy on Sunday night that I have two things taping at a time until 3 am. It’s a Sunday afternoon puzzle for me to solve each week to record everything that needs to be recorded.
Killing Eve was adapted from novellas by Luke Jennings by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The series stars Sandra Oh as Eve. Eve whose relatively mundane job as a security officer with the MI5. (It’s kind of like the British CIA) comes to an end during the first episode. Let’s just say it was a particularly bad day at the office. Eve is obsessed with serial killers in a psycho way. There is a female serial killer on a murderous spree across Europe that she is trying to track down. The assassin, Villanelle, is played by Jodie Comer. Both Eve and Villanelle have some deep psychological problems.
There can be a lot of blood, there were five murders in episode one. But it’s more fascinating than it is overly gory. I laughed out loud a couple of times in the first episode. I rarely laugh out loud at things on TV. The humor is so unexpected and often delivered in a dead panned manner it catches you off guard.
I’m all in and up for a discussion post of the previous week’s episode if anyone is interested in watching and discussing it with me. I really don’t have time to watch it until the weekend when I watch all the good stuff.
So Is anyone watching Killing Eve?
