Well this almost seems too good to be true. But it is. Love B. Scott has just exclusively reported the news. I have sources who have been hinting that someone is being let go, and it was not Kenya or Cynthia. Beyond that I was not told who it was. I wanted it to be Sheree but she works for such a small paycheck (relatively speaking) that I could not see that really effecting the budget enough to make it worth firing her. But that happy day is here again.
So I am talking to my sources trying to find out what is going on as I type. As I mentioned, Kenya Moore was on the chopping block this year for a variety of reasons. At the end of last year, it was pretty much a done deal that she would either quit or be fired because of the elopement and Marc refusing sign a release and then she refused to go to Barcelona if Kim or Marlo were going to be there. That cost her four episodes of pay which was over $250,000. Then they shaded her on the reunion seating and at WWHL. However, at the reunion, Kenya gathered the women all the way together and proved that she was not someone they could let go that easily. She saved her peach.
Production has been saying they wanted Kim in Kenya’s slot. That is until they started looking at the budget for next year. It would have been ridiculously expensive to have Nene, Kandi and Kim full-time. Even during season ten there was an episode or two without Nene. Nene missing one episode saves right at $100,000. So after Kenya saved herself, they started reevaluating the Kim situation. Kim makes ALMOST as much per episode as Nene. Nene HATES Kim. Kenya HATES Kim. Kim also managed to piss of Kandi and even Porsha. So despite the recent reunion editing decision to keep the situation with Kim and Nene open, it looks like the may go back and change it to show the end of that relationship. So with Kim gone, Sheree has nobody. Even Porsha stopped tolerating Sheree by the end of the season. She has no storyline unless Chateau Sheree gets foreclosed on this season. (Fun fact: right before I started working on this post I was talking to someone who told me that Sheree tried to list the Chateau for rent in December. It was on Zillow for three days before being removed. I suspect, but have no proof, that she may have been unable to rent it because there might be a very high water bill from way back when the house flooded that has never been paid. The rumor is that the neighbors are the ones who called the water company to let them know that water was flowing out of the house all over the place for days. That would be a five figure water bill. Also, it is believed to be part of the reason why there is likely not a certificate of occupancy for the house. So all the rental furniture is back at the rental place and the house is sitting empty again, according to Mama Joyce’s streets.
Anyway, with the execs finally doing what the majority of the cast wants and dumping Kim, there is literally no need to have Sheree at all. Now I am hearing that Eva has a shot at Sheree’s peach. She is low girl on the totem pole and has already been on a cast trip and done talking heads and gone to the reunion. Plus she has a new baby, and is planning to get married at the end of this year. There are already conversations about the finale of season eleven being Eva’s wedding. I’m thrilled about that. The only bad part of Eva having a peach is that she and Kenya do not care for each other. I’m not sure why, they just don’t.
The other information I have is that the execs want to bring in TWO new wives. I’ve heard it won’t be Shamea or any of the other hopefuls we saw in season ten. They have yet to nail down who, if anyone will have the second peach but they do want two newbies if they can find a second. They want to bring in some younger blood, hopefully someone closer to Eva’s age than the other ladies.
So after five months of fearing the worst, with Kim coming for Kenya’s peach, Kenya managed to flip the script. And we got everything we wanted. And I learned to never, ever, doubt Kenya Moore.
Oh and Nene and Porsha were already celebrating the departures of “Smokey and the Bandit” on Twitter.
