When last we left off “Doctor Simon” was seen on his laptop watching video surveillance of Rachel sleeping in the truck. He’s one thousand percent a cop, y’all. Also Alexi is apparently really good at blowjobs. So good that waylaid (heh) Jaye on the way home to his loving husband who had been slaving over a hot stove.
We start tonight with Rachel and her dad, who she is tapering off his lithium while he lives with her in the truck, wandering the set of Everlasting. Because that is a perfectly normal, albeit poorly constructed sentence, right? Jeremy realizes that he Dad is staying in the truck. He is totally going to rat her out. And just like that Dad goes missing and Rachel can’t find him. Jeremy pretends to help Rachel. Dad apparently went looking for a bathroom and landed in the one with Serena. He also has bad tremors for withdrawal that Rachel doesn’t know about but Simon notices via his truck cam. He tells Asa that he needs to be in a 30 day rehab to get off of the lithium in a supervised environment. He tells him that Rachel is not stable enough to rehab him and she is under too much pressure.
Alexi is already pressing Jaye for more coke when Jaye’s husband, Xavier shows up. Alexi says Xavier should be on Passport to Dance. Xavier realizes that Alexi has taken his hosting job. Jaye is such an unsupportive douchebag to Xavier and when he says maybe he should just go home to Louisiana Jaye agrees. Come on, Jaye. I thought you were one of the people on production that was almost redeemable.
Warren the single cowboy and the Asian chef, Guy, are being set up to be a gay couple. Or maybe they are a gay couple. I’m not sure. Jasper buys Serena a $100,000 billboard and donated another $300,000 to charity to make up for the bet. That buys him an “I’ll think about it.” Meanwhile, Quinn has great package on her gay romance thing. Quinn and Chet tell Guy that they will invest in his restaurant if he plays along. Guy says he wants a Vegas restaurant on the strip and he wants to be bi in the video package.
Quinn’s dad, Asa, has a complete paranoid breakdown in the middle of a set in front of everyone except Rachel it seems. When Rachel gets there he says he is protecting her like he should have before and now Quinn has more ammo to mentally control Rachel. Chet seems to want to capitalize on Rachel’s weak spots first, but Quinn actually defends her.
At the rose ceremony, Guy stops it before it starts and says he needs to cut himself because he’s in love with Warren, the single cowboy. But he doesn’t say that. He says that he’s going to Vegas to open a restaurant on the strip, then he grips Warren’s shoulder. Serena cuts Warren.
The past two episodes Rachel has been talking to her dad about a cabin in the woods she really wanted and how they could live there together. She was working on a deal with the owner this episode and it was so close to happening but then she had to pay $50K for her dad’s rehab. #heartbreaking
Jeremy is back in love with Rachel. Apparently he always was. Quinn is trying her best to stop him from letting her know that. Jaye has coked up sex with Alexi. Chet is still in love with Quinn who is fighting the fact she is still in love with him. After telling her realtor she can’t get the cabin she walks out of rehab to the parking lot where Simon is conveniently waiting and falls into his arms.
I can hardly wait to see what happens next week.
I really hope he’s not a cop. He would be a pretty decent dectetive to fool everyone he’s a doctor.
I was thinking that too. But they do have shrinks who work for the cops.
This season started out strong, and just seems to be getting better with every episode. I’ll admit to being a bit grateful for Simon’s creepy spy cam in this episode, as it enabled him to keep an eye on Rachel’s dad as he began his lithium withdrawal and intervene. I still recognize that it’s creepy and wrong.
I am disappointed in Jaye’s behavior. Apparently Alexi is amazing in the bj department, as it only took one for Jaye to throw his relationship away. I had hoped that it was guilt that led Jaye to behave like such a douche toward Xavier, but the coke-fueled romp with Alexi pretty much killed that theory.
It was great seeing Rachel tell Serena off. She has become a bit tiresome, and I think was unnecessarily harsh to Jasper who more or less defined the “grand gesture”, but maybe that’s just me.
