I tried to do a recap last night without really doing a recap and didn’t come up with enough to say.
I thought Brendan Fraser was fantastic as Fletcher Chace the cowboy head of security for Getty Sr.
Security dude, Fletcher, asks the butler in the late morning why he is just now telling anyone that Paul was mixed up with the mafia.
The butler replies, ” I intended to mention it at breakfast, but there was a problem with the butter.”
Just reading that again makes me laugh. I love the butler. If y’all told me his name before, I’ve already forgotten it.
The Mafia actually gave back the money Fletcher dropped off for them because they do not have the boy. In fact, nobody has him. The Mafia gave back a suitcase of money that they got from the restaurant owner? Why?
After Fletcher talked to the other boy who lived in the house and got Paul’s journals and went to see a movie he’d seen recently and really liked, he discovered that Paul was writing a play about a fake kidnapping and there was also a fake kidnapping in the movie. Based on that and THE MAFIA RETURNING A SUITCASE FULL OF MONEY, he decides no kidnapping happen and heads back to Sutton Place to tell old man Getty.
I agreed with Fletcher because I didn’t really know a lot about this kidnapping. Then at the end we see Paul at the bottom of a well or something with the restaurant guy threatening to kill him.
I am confused about some stuff. We saw Paul’s mom on this episode (Hillary Swank) who was hooked up with some asshole man. She had two or three other kids. She dumped that guy. Before this episode, I thought Paul Jr’s wife was the mother. But in this episode, I wasn’t even sure Paul Jr. was married. I’m going to need y’all to explain that to me and talk to me about anything else I missed.
I liked this episode and wanted to watch it without the burden of recapping all the details. So I’m going to do more of a discussion post for this show.
