There were two hours worth of updates on the inmates from the most recent season of 60 Days In and I am going to try to stick to the main points and get through this quickly.
Ah! It looks like it is am update on both groups that went into Fulton County. This makes sense that they were all in back to back so they did a six month follow-up on everyone. I barely remember the first group.
Michelle Is still struggling to get herself together emotionally after the experience. We see Michelle tell her daughter that she took drugs in prison. She is pretty cool about it. Michelle is volunteering and getting ready to go to grad school.
Calvin has the same big smile. He’s working and hanging with his two boys. He’s also talking to kids at the school where he teaches about his experience and trying to inspire them to stay on the straight and narrow path.
Don continues to have a bad outlook on the criminal justice system. He continues to say “you know what I’m saying?” at the end of every sentence. Don and the camera crew go to talk to Don’s dad for the first time in two years. He talks about his father’s drug use.
Mauri was my favorite on that season. She is working on an Masters in Social Work. Mauri met a great guy almost as soon as she was out. Jail gave Mauri a lot of confidence. It’s great to see her happy. She also got an internship at the district attorney’s office.
Jessica quit the program. After coming out of jail she separated from her husband. They are currently attempting to reconcile.
Matt had a hard time finding work when he got out of jail. He finally got a job cleaning pools. He’s back playing in his band.
Jon was the star of his season. Jon says coming home was difficult. His wife thought he would just pick up where they left off but he needed time to decompress and process the experience. Jon met up with some state leaders about solving the problems in the criminal justice system.
Jon mentored a kid named Dashaun during his time in prison. They both came in and left at the same time. At the reunion, Jon found out that Dashaun was back in prison. He called Colonel Adger and got permission to meet with him. Jon gets a tour of the jail first. The Colonel explains how the cavity searches have kept a lot of drugs and weapons out of the system. This was actually on the local news here at the time. The meeting with Dashaun was heartbreaking. He is back in jail for robbery with his younger brother. His older brother just got ten years in prison for armed robbery.
Moving on to the latest crew…
Matt is still in need of a hair brush. He wants us to know he is not insane and not about to go postal on anyone. He just didn’t do well with confinement. His home scenes have him out in wide open spaces. Matt continues to train MMA fighters and teaches course at a local university. What course might that be?
Andrew is doing great. He is dating and more outgoing and confident. Apparently, Utah is gorgeous! Andrew tells his father that he got too involved in the drama. Matt could not be prouder of Andrew. Andrew is working on his Ph.D.
Jaclin went to jail to punish herself over the accidental death of her first daughter. It forced her to think about things she didn’t want to think about. Jaclin has been accepted into law school. She wants to be a defense attorney. Jaclin has no regrets about tapping out. She doesn’t hold any grudges toward Stephanie. She does think she needs to work on not being so trusting of others. Jaclin and her boyfriend of twelve years broke up after the jail stay. Jaclin has no regrets regarding the experience. Oh, there is an end note that says that they have gotten back together and she’s pregnant again. Yay!
Alan began reconsidering his career after his sixty days. He says he doesn’t think he can arrest anyone anymore. Alan goes to meet with a police officer in Little Rock, Arkansas that he admires and who is admired in the community. Alan is working as a car salesman. He does community outreach to promote a more positive perception of law enforcement.
Emmanuel is spending more time with his family. He is also training to because a mentor to at risk youth as part of the Anti-Recidivism Coalition. He’s also gotten a new job working at the department of corrections where his job is to help reduce recidivism.
Johnny needs to come play in the back yard with Banjo. Watching him with his dogs makes me feel guilty. Johnny has learned to appreciate each day of freedom. He says in jail he saw his past, present and future, Women everywhere weep at the sight of Johnny’s beautiful wife. I know a lot of you had a little thing for Johnny. He realizes that his son needs him as a dad even in prison, probably especially in prison. He wants him to live with him when he gets out so he can help him get on his feet. He speaks with his son frequently now.
He is also coaching his son’s little league team.
UPDATED! I misunderstood the scene with Johnny coaching baseball. He’s a coach but he doesn’t have a young child on the team.
Stephanie has broken up with her boyfriend but is still living with him. Stephanie is gay. She still likes white people though. So she has replaced her white boyfriend (door)Matt with a white chick. Didn’t she kinda hate white people in jail? And women? She plays a game of pool with her new girlfriend and makes sure to tell the cameras she won. She also maintains that she won 60 Days In. She goes into absurd detail about why she was better than all the other participants. She lets us know that the reason she treated Jaclin so poorly was because she did not like her. Her mother took out a life insurance policy on her daughter while she was in jail. Apple. Tree. Stephanie is working as a teacher’s aide in an elementary school. I’m going need all of y’all to check your kid’s school and if she is working there whether it is with your kid or not, you need to put your kid in a different school. She is still living with Matt.
Nate says jail did not change who he was. He is still friends for life with Desmond. He seems to have split up from Kayleen. Nate, as the golden child, wins the tour with the colonel. Nate is going into the 500 zone. They had everyone on lockdown and he talked to only one inmate that we saw who was someone I didn’t recognize. He did not get the ticker tape parade he seemed to be expecting. Nate started a home restoration business and hires veterans and former inmates. He has also enrolled in college.
Angele said that she learned a lot about herself, some good things and some things she needs to consider more deeply. She has not seen Gabby since she left the jail. They were in contact and once she got out she started drinking. Angele offered to fly her out and shortly after that Gabrielle ghosted. It’s been a month since they had contact. Gabby is in Atlanta to try to find her. Angele says her only regret is saying that she regretted blowing her cover, because she doesn’t. Angele goes in on Stephanie and says all the things we’ve been saying her all season. She says she is not of the Facebook group where the participants stay in touch. She says she is part of the inmate group.
Angele is unable to track down Gabby but she does find her brother who agrees to meet with her on camera. Danny says that Gabby has skipped a probation meeting and a court date and she is either on the run or dead. Danny tells Angele that Gabby lied to her about everything including her job. He says she played her. That is her game. He says she never mentioned Angele to him at all. Angele is devastated. She says she has been through some rough shit but this is right up there. Angele has not seen Gabby but she has spoken to her a couple of times. Angele has a new girlfriend and lives in New York.
