The slothfulness is seeping back in. I should be doing some housework today but instead I am doing nothing. It seems like a weird time of year for there to be so much on TV, and so much more starting in April. Since I don’t have any fun stories today, I thought I’d just mention a few TV shows that are coming up.
First, Shonda Rimes has not one but two new shows on ABC. There are only four more episodes of Scandal before it ends forever. On Tuesday nights at ten there is a new legal show called For The People, it’s set in NYC and follows the lives of a group of young attorneys beginning their careers. Some are prosecutors some are defendants. One dating couple broke up right away when the went up against each other in court. There is a girl who grew up homeless who is living with a very rich girl and that is taking them both some getting used to. I like all trial shows and this one is good. It’s not Ally McBeal or Law and Order good, at least not yet, but it’s not going to give me nightmares either.
The other Shonda show is Station 19 which premiered last Thursday with two back to back shows. I was about to delete it after the first fifteen minutes, but it go better as it went along. The fire scenes are traumatic and serious so there is a tiny bit of a chance for bad dreams.
Also on Tuesday night, there is a show on Lifetime that comes on right after Married At First Sight called Love at First Flight. I you like MAFS you will love this. Three couples meet each other and travel the country for a month and then decided if they want to get married. It’s actually very interesting and there are already a lot of twists and turns. One of the girls is particularly horrible to travel with and is a vegetarian that made some of the food challenges difficult. I like it but I doubt I will recap it because I doubt many of you will watch.
Next Wednesday on A & E Marcia Clark, from the OJ trial has a new “First 48” show that might be interesting to my trial watchers.
And most importantly, On April 5th Imposters returns for a second season on Bravo. This is a SPECTACULAR show and I urge you to try to watch the first season if at all possible. Bravo may run a marathon of it again soon. It’s must see TV.
I might try to recap To Rome For Love in a bit, and maybe some Catfish, or I might just curl up with something mindless and play some solitaire and go to bed early if I can get Banjo to bed at a reasonable hour. He’s been have troubles with his ears at night.
So what’s going on in your neck of the woods? Anyone have anything positive or happy to report? These open forums are starting to revert back to why I ended them in the past with all the death and dying and sickness reports. Can we try to keep it light this week?
Can not wait for IMPOSTERS I was hooked from the first episode and it looks like the premise will be a little different this season… or will it? Some unanswered questions from last season
Imposters AND Southern Charm on April 5th! Yay!
The sun is out here! After 4 nor’easters it’s nice to see a blue sky on a weekend!
I love MAFS and watched the first episode of Love at First Flight. You’re right, that vegetarian girl that is supposedly a teacher is insufferable.
I left the house! And went to the grand opening of the new Orange County Animal Care Center. Really nice.
That’s great news Lynn! I am working on getting my leaving the house mojo back. I had thought about going to a movie today and then …just didn’t.
Lynn, was that in OC, CA? I read about this but didn’t go. I’m dealing with Maurice, my 17 year old male cat (my baby) who is at the end. We have 7 other cats in the house, but it doesn’t matter. Losing him will be a HUGE emptiness. I keep praying for God to take him in his sleep cuz the thought of us putting him down is horrible. My husbands been walking around all week depressed and sad. We’ve had to put ours down before and it doesn’t get easier, despite the fact you’d think it would. All ours are rescues. One is deaf, one we found tied to a tree, two were on a porch in a cage, another in a pet store, all alone and malnourished, one had burned paws, and two from a no kill shelter. The four we had that died were all bengals who got T cell lymphoma from overbreeding. My husband brings them home. I only brought home Maurice and Bob (the deaf one). Damn animals! They literally crawl into our lives and then our hearts and become our children. I wouldn’t trade them for anything tho. Sorry for this long rant. Other than that, the rain stopped so I could wash the windows and we are putting in new air conditioning and heating units so this past week has been a long, noisy one. Hopefully they will be done on Tuesday. Does anyone watch Longmire? It is worth getting into???
Thanks, TT!
I get out of I commit to others, as in drive a cancer patient, promise to take a friend someplace, sign up to sing at an assisted living facility (twice this week, and really fun).
But if I promise myself to get out, I often disappoint myself.
But often staying home with the cat is a good thing, too.
Gigi, yes!
OC CA!! I am in Fountain Valley, one of the cities served by OC.
Yes those cats just take your heart.
I have just one, Katniss (named from the book, before The Hunger Games movie), who is 17 pounds of crazy beautiful black cat.. unlikely to accept other cats.
Sorry to hear about the Bengals wifh Lymphoma.. Such beautiful Cats.
I do plan to stay home tomorrow.
I don’t mind Roseanne returning those who care, but they keep promoting it with that horrid cackle of hers.
I go to Jennys in FV all the time. I’m in CdM. Hello Neighbor. Maurice is a huge black cat also. How nice of you to do all that giving type work for others. You have a kind heart!
Katniss is part Maine Coon. I adore black cats.
I am kind, but am paid back bigtime. Feeds my heart, soul, even my brain.
And driving patients for Road to Recovery is so flexible!
The singing .. Fun And musical People are interesting.
Yesterday we had people playing guitars, ukulele, banjo, flute, fiddle, accordion, harmonicas, and hammered dulcimer.
I had to look up Jenny’! I think I have been there a few years ago when a friend was making things for her granddaughter ‘s wedding.
I lived in CdM (Corona del Mar, for readers) for last three years of HS, also another year back with my parents, then the first 18 months of my marriage. Parents house was one of the first in Harbor View Hills. Early marriage, small apartments.
I went to Newport Harbor, but brother went to CdMHS.
Someone mentioned reunion.. Ours is in September, 55th, which is more casual than our 50th.
I hope Coco Chanel is enjoying the weather here! I
Watching Hollywood Medium.. Wish I Could have a session with Tyler Henry!
You 2 ladies might consider meeting for lunch, interesting to know if a shared online experience can transcend into real life.
I dated a man from a blog for about 8 months, we did not last but it was a wonderful experience.
Yes, a lot of good new shows coming up. But is anyone as excited as I am for the return of ROSANNE on Tuesday ( March 27)?? Oh, and how are you feeling TT? Hope great 😊
I am not excited for it because Will and Grace was a disappointment to me. I think maybe things have their place and time. Roseanne’s last year was so dreadful. I am happy with old reruns
I was going to remind you about Southern Charm too!
I needed a mood lift today, so I went out for some retail therapy. Bought myself a pretty new skirt to wear for Easter, and I already have a top that matches it perfectly. Found some really cute blue and white gingham flats that I didn’t buy (they didn’t match the skirt or I would have). Next time that particular store puts their shoes on sale (they do often) I will go back and buy them. Then I went to Trader Joe’s and they had bunches of 10 cut stems of daffodils for $1.49. I bought two.
They put down fresh mulch where I live yesterday. Am I the only freak who loves the smell of fresh mulch? The hardwood kind, not pine. It smells wonderful.
Positive? Sure!
The dog peed a lake in my living room this morning. My comeuppance for not letting her out to chase a squirrel at the feeder. Note: she had been out chasing at least 6 times that hour. Yes, I could stop feeding the birds, but it is still so cold it is tough to find food. The woodpeckers are dealing with a family and the hope of seeing babies spurs me on.
Oh, the positive is that spouse and I were snappish during the clean up. Then we both apologized and watched baseball together.
Easter in a week and us Polacks get a basket of food blessed on Holy Saturday. We eat it Easter Sunday morning. So it is a mad rush to get tidy the bare minimun (living room floor clean-check!). Then I cook until I keel over. The house will smell like lilies, sausage, ham and egg twist bread.
careful…when my dog started peeing rivers in the house, turned out he was diabetic.
We got a dog in September who baffled us and the docs for months with peeing in the house, were really struggling with what kind of help he needed, about to go to cat psychs, etc….(yes, I know how ridiculous that sounds but he had been raised til age 15 months by a breeder, never lived with humans, only in a cage in the dark with other dogs, in a basement….was shaking and afraid of humans til w got him more comfortable and happy) .
Anyway, he originally had a UTI on exam buy our doc, had a round of antibiotics, better. Two rounds later, after he was “cured” of the UTI but back to peeing,we did potty training for months. Pulling out our hair, another tests show sub clinical results that suggest cystitis, an infection of the lining of the bladder. Net result- , he’s back on antibiotics, the vet says this kind of it is rare but happens, and 24 hours on antibiotics, he stopped peeing. Turns out the symptoms to the dogs are urgency and pain so he has had a need to release the urine, bless
him. He has been so dear and sweet- never one bite or issue with obedience- so muted sense of success, since he has been uncomfortable all this time- but we’re very hopeful and he seems mush happier!!! Yeah!!
Happy Spring and Easter all!!
We’ve had a long winter in the Midwest – fell and broke my arm first week of Jan in 11 places, on dog door. Then needed therapy 3 days a week, once it was healed enough and the pain and swelling improved. Five hour surgery really knocked me out so it took longer to recover and then needed sinus surgery so it has been pretty miserable. But on our way back- can use much of my arm now — look I am typing!!! So I’m commenting again and forward to NY , Southern Charm, and Imposters- even trying to talk my husband into it, a rare Bravo moment as we know.
So our dog’s peeing was also medically-caused. I hope you can find something similar. The idea that is was either rebellion or something else seemed quite foreign to this well-behaved little guy, otherwise, so we are so pleased for him, now. Hope you have a similar result.
The temperatures aren ‘t too warm yet consistently, but the sunlight is both longer and brighter, so spring is on its way!!
And I apologize for flying so fast through this that I left so many confusing typos.
I miss that tradition. As a young girl my mom would send me over to the church to get our basket blessed. I LOVE my polish heritage.
That is so sweet! I’ve never heard this before. Have a wonderful Easter everyone !
My trip to Poland in 2000 was life-changing. I loved the spirit of the Polish people who were so excited to vote for the first time in years. It was THE TALK OF THE TOWN — in EVERY town. That and the trip to Auschwitz and the flowers on every deck of the drab apartment buildings (built during the Cold War) made me respect the Poles lie no others and realize how blessed we,are in the USA. Even now, with Trump, we can RIP him, CRITICIZE him, express our HATRED and DISDAIN for him — and not get shot like the Nazis did to the gypsies, Jews and others, then the Russians did to the Polish intellectuals. God bless America! God bless the Polish here and there! And God keep us alive until the next election!
My husband went to play golf at around 9am, so I got to hang with the dogs, have coffee on my front porch while indulging on a joint….
Around noon we headed out to Goodwill and The Arc, we live in Colorado Springs so we have about 10 of each store around the City, I absolutely enjoy this so MUCH! I only spent about 12$ hubs spent about 15$ Just some neat little treasures we found (some old school stuff) on certain days different colored tags are half price! It just made me feel so awesome to see families shopping and filling up carts with clothes dishes ect…
Its so weird…I hate shopping malls, big box stores ect…But I think I found my new happy place 😉 its not even about the money…I’m BLESSED to have what I need in life. The people I came across today just seemed so genuine.
Finished the afternoon up with meeting my parents at a wonderful family owned Mexican restaurant (I dont like chain restaurants either) Rented a red box movie, Ferdinand, FANTABULOUS! Reminds me of my 95 pound boxer, Jayger…so sweet and loves flowers, in the summertime my front porch is covered in flower boxes and pots and my JJ lays out there with his face in the flowers, my 20 pound wiener dog, Heidi, could care less, she would rather keep a look out for mailmen, ups, garbage trucks, and FedEx so she can yell (bark) at them to “get out of this neighborhood ” LOL!
They’re so frickin cute together.
Now a short hike with the pups and then maybe ice cream! Half price shakes at Sonic after 8!!!
OMG! The life of 52 year olds on a saturday!! Really I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Enjoy the simple things, hold hands, be forgiving, be thankful
Cheers
You 2 ladies might consider meeting for lunch, interesting to know if a shared online experience can transcend into real life.
I dated a man from a blog for about 8 months, we did not last but it was a wonderful experience.
I started drinking early today, my little ones are nuts and I’ve spent a ton of money lately working on getting our new house to feel like ours. My husband and I just moved to a suburb outside of Vegas from Southern California, feels like it’s an expensive week every other week. We are currently getting our pool back to a nice blue color and buying outdoor/pool furniture.
Also painting rooms (well) is much harder than I thought, I bought “removable wallpaper” to do accent walls in our bathrooms, but am so intimidated I keep putting it off. I have found that I don’t really give a shit about our trims being perfect and also that my four year old and I love planting flowers.
It’s been inspiring today to see the turn out for the marches, even if you can’t agree on the politics it’s pretty awesome to see these kids taking a stand.
I have painted every room in my house at least once, and found that for me, the best method was taking my time picking out the color, buying the supplies on one day, cleaning and taping on another day, and painting on another day, but do all of the painting in one day, then it is done. One room at a time. Disposable paint trays!
I’m going to have to pick back up Wednesday where I left off weeks ago with my painting project. Good pointers! I don’t want to complain too much for fear that TT will stop this open forum! It has really helped me try to be accountable but I have a lot of deep sorting, purging and organizing to do. Wednesday Wednesday Wednesday…work through Tuesday…
Congrats on the new home Amanda! We were in Vegas last weekend and I thought I was going to die in the traffic! Yikes! I hope you don’t have to deal with that too much. Granted I’ve turned into a country bumpkin in recent years so probably just me…
And thank you Kipper! I stay in my little suburban bubble so traffic for me is much better than Orange County CA. The strip is nuts and I still get lost going or coming home
Yay! I did it! I got another wall painted today!
YAY! My house is a disaster area again because I can’t adult well enough to keep is clean.
I still have a long way to go. I’ve struggled with adulting the past couple of weeks (and weeks). You’ve had your hands/mind full of distractions. It can’t be as bad as it was before your first weeks of serious purge and getting outside help. Take a breath and maybe get some help again? Xxoo
Thank you for the tips! Our walls are textured and I had no idea how much paint the walls would take! I’m loving what the rooms look like after, just hate the touch ups and details. I have two little boys (4 and almost 2) so I don’t have much time for wet paint
textured walls need a thicker roller, and more paint, sadly. Paint is the cheapest thing you can do to make a big difference. Good luck!
We just moved to the Vegas area from Scottsdale, AZ! We are still adjusting a bit. We’re in a rental and are starting to thing of looking for a house to purchase. We were used to so much space, the yards here are so small. We’re also adjusting to the general scandalousness in the way people dress – my little one has said on more than one occasion, “hey, I can see that ladies butt!”
I had a lazy day. I was glued to TV and my gadgets watching and reading all the signs for the March for our Lives Rally.
Today is Earth Day and in response to the global request I have turned off all my lights at 8:30 pm for an hour in observance.
I love Easter Week! I’m off Sunday through Wednesday then Saturday through Wednesday and plan to spend a lot of time on the beach!
First Orangetheory tomorrow morning followed by mimosas, house cleaning, then brunch!
Most importantly, that super hot, gorgeous, hunk of a man Henry Cavill was in the restaurant the other night!
I binged on all three episodes of Married to Medicine, and it was really good. I like this show so much
better thAn HW of Atl. These women seem more real and not such phony hitches. Also, Simone and Cecil agreed to give it another chance. They were ready to sign divorce papers, and we’re persuaded not to, by the rest of the couple’s. Well worth watching.
Oh wow! Really? Simone was on WWHL recently and I thought it was a done deal? I will say they have appeared to struggle as a couple for years but respect and care for each other…hope if they are staying together they find a way to truly be happy together.
I think Married to Medicine is THE BEST Bravo show (with Pump a close second) and it has been sad to watch the marriages run into difficulties. It is SO EASY to see the problems from our living rooms. And after attending just one Couples Communication “semester” (as a single) led by the FABULOUS Doug McLinn in North Calif, even I can see so many things that could be helped. I watched the Little Women Couples Retreat and the counselors were pretty damned good, but most on TV … meh… I wish TT had recaps of MTM. And I really hope that Jackie, Simon and Quad are all in better places in their marriages next season.
Sorry for the typos. I’m writing from my tablet, you know hunt and peck.
I can’t wait for RHNYC and Imposters! In the meantime I just saw the movie I Can Only Imagine. I bawled my eyes out the entire time. It is so inspiring and uplifting even though I used up the kleenex in my purse and had to resort to my sleeve. What a fantastic movie!
I went into NYC with my good friend today and saw the Downton Abbey exhibit. It was really cool made me realize how much I miss that show, and the costumes were amazing. It was super crowded, though, and even though the people were really nice, I still hate crowds.
I came home and collapsed and watched the rest of Station 19. I think I will stick with it, though it is pretty Shonda-ey.
Your post reminded me of Stranded with a Million Dollars. I looked it up and there will be no season two. I had doubts about a second season being as good but I’m sad it’s not coming back.
Rats. I liked that show. However, we may be the only two people alive that liked that show.
I absolutely loved that show! So sad it’s not coming back.
Stranded was great, sorry that more people didn’t watch it, would’ve loved another season. Wonderful concept with having to lug the money around. When the contestants burned the money, that was something I never expected to see!
My heart skipped a beat when you started to explain For The People and then you said it’s no Ally McBe and I was disappointed. I’ll still give it a shot as I love law based TV shows and movies as well.
I’ve just been working and planning out my new home at the farm. I’m already starting to push back move in time until late fall. Time just goes by too quickly.
I nose dived this week – sigh. I threw out my back – VACUUMING of all damn Things! VACUUMING??? Who does that? Oh, thats right – Me. Fudge. So Ive been binge watching the whole season of Married to Med and staying in bed. I feel like a sloth – bloated and yuck. The house isnt cleaned. I managed to put my dishes from lunch in the dishwasher – so the day wasn’t a total nothing day!
Oh and Miss GiGi – sending you and Maurice hugs..
Ummm…”who does that?” Pretty much everyone I know including me. A certain age… hang in there…I’ve been lucky the past couple of years but I rarely turn my head without turning my body…feel better soon!
Hey TT, I can give you an update on our move from Scottsdale to Vegas. We just went out for dinner with the girls (Sushi), and we are still having some trouble discerning the working ladies from locals. We’re still trying to figure out if it’s just a local thing and we have to adjust what is “normal” 🙂
Giggle
Yes TT! I think we all want to hear this!
Sorry everyone. Horrible day at work, I needed to offload a bit. I’ll be quiet now.
I some how got sucked in to watching Crossroads, starring Britney spears. But how I got sucked in was due the opening credits. Shondra wrote it, so I had to watch. It was kinda corny but it was better than other movies on at that time. Really girly and cheesy but that it what I like at 8 pm on a Saturday night.
I saw some comments by Anson Mount (even hunkier as he gets older, ala Sam Elliott) who was reluctant to do the “Crossroads” movie until Robert De Niro, his costar in “City by the Sea,” advised him to do it. He has looked back on following the advice and doing the movie as two good moves — personally and professionally.
I went to an art show today with my sister. Asked some guy to marry me. He said yes. I told him he had to take me to Paris for our honeymoon. He backed out. Then met another couple who I emded.up commuting to go to Spain with on our honeymoon. I don’t think they eere serious. Good time to get out and see color and be amongst the living. I was comfoetable in the crowd so i was able to enjoy myself. Plus, it was good for my sister and seeing her enjoy herself was worth every second.
Good Lord. I apologize for my typos.
Good Lord. I apologize for my typos.
Know I said I’d be quiet but I’m jealous of the art show! I miss my people!
Coco Chanel & I arrived in Orange County CA Wed. after an early flight from NC, & have been enjoying seeing seeing many old friends the rest of the week. Today was my high school class luncheon, & Coco was a big hit in her pink stroller & matching pink sweater. (She is less than 10 lbs & the stroller keeps her from getting stepped on & crushed in doorways + gives her a napping spot.) We’ll be planning our next class reunion soon, which will be in 2020, probably a 2-day affair at a resort. It will be our 60th. Trying to get my college roommate to commit to coming out from Utah for it. A friend is picking us up in the morning for a quick trip to Sun City AZ to check out property there & to see another friend who lives there & who is having major health problems. My late husband & I used to have an investment condo there & I really liked it there. Good news this week from eldest great-granddaughter, who is graduating high school in June. She just got her acceptance from her #1 college choice, so now we just all have to figure out how to pay for it. She has a good chance for some scholarship assistance. I can’t believe how expensive it is to go to school these days. Even my grad school was only $90 a quarter, & now the local community college is 5k a year. It is ridiculous. Watched some of the march today & am so proud of this “Generation Z !” Afraid my marching days are over–blew out my left knee last April protesting for healthcare at Senator Thom Tillis’ office, so the younger ones are going to have to take over the marching for me now. They are sure doing us proud lately. Good thing, as we adults have sure screwed things up this century.
Are you a kindred soul ? I too have a dog stroller for my two. They total 11lbs together and cannot walk around in crowds. Not only that but when they tire of walking I put them in the stroller and keep going.
My tuition at Auburn was $135 dorm not included. I don’t know how kids go school without all kinds help these days.
Hello, Mackie, kindred soul! The stroller is an absolute necessity for Coco. She is a service dog, so goes almost everyplace with me & because of her small size it is absolutely too dangerous for her to be on a leash around most people & doorways are very hazardous. The stroller also allows me to skip the cane most of the time.
Best wishes for your reunion! I hope you can cut the rug on the dance floor! My 50th is in 2019.
Had a really good day today – the rain has finally ended in CA; it was much needed but at least there were no terrible effects from it. The hills are getting green, which they haven’t been for quite a while, and that makes me happy too, plus the clouds were AMAZING!! Big, white, puffy, and one that looked like an elephant, complete with waving trunk. Good stuff! I’m actually going to join The Cloud Appreciation Society which is headquartered in Somerset, in the West of England, where I can talk to my fellow nerds. Days like this make you appreciate being alive. It’s taken me a few months to accept my husband’s death, but I’m finally finding myself again, and IT FEELS GOOD!!
Happy Easter, everyone!
Oh, ER… I have enjoyed reading your comments, but my reading is sporadic and I didn’t know about your husband. Going through some bad times, I took up knitting and besides the stitches being therapeutic, the camaraderie in the online knitting community has been spiritually healing. I hope you can find that with the “cloud nerds” as I have with the yarnies. I would think a cloud nerd would be as much a dreamer as a scientist — your elephant comment — so I hope that brings you comfort. BTW: I don’t know where you are in Calif., I am in Sacramento now, but BIG STORMS coming our way April 15 & 16. Or so “they” say… so maybe we will have our green for a bit longer. XOXOX.
Tamara have you kept up with any of the couples from the last season of big brother, besides Cody and Jessica? I can’t believe that raven and Matt are still together, thought he would have run for the hills by now. Also Elena and Mark bought a house, didn’t see that coming
Cody and Jessica kind of frightened me. He had that whole Marine tough guy “I know a thousand ways to kill you” look about him, and seemed kind of humorless, but she was just about as fearless. I guess they won Amazing Race, and worked really well together, so good for them.
Does anyone watch My Big Fat Fabulous Life? I love, love, love Babs, Whitney’s mom!
I am excited for Sell It Like Serhant, Southern Charm, and Real Housewives of New York, all of which are starting soon.
Babs is a superstar! Whitney often drives me up a wall, but I like most golf her friends and I like Glenn and Babs together.
Babs is a superstar! Whitney often drives me up a wall, but I like most of her friends and I like Glenn and Babs together.
Yes! Her friend Tal is great!
I LOVE that show! Yes,Babs IS a superstar & SO damn hilarious. I love Babs & Glenn together, but I thought Glenn was not being a good father when he pushed the SEVEN K on Whitney. I think sweet Tal will make a much better roommate than Buddy, I’ll just feel so sorry for him if he & Whiney co-parent. Todd is an ugly drama queen, lol.
Babs is a hoot!
Well I had an interesting night last night. My husband and I took our first trip to New York this last week and last night was our last night in town. We went out for a show, got a little tipsy and picked the first restaurant with good reviews that popped up near our VRBO. A few minutes into dinner two women are seated next to us, now this is a very crowded and busy restaurant so we are sitting so close we can practically eat off the next tables plates, I didn’t give these women any more than a quick glance as they sat and judged them to be a couple of women a little older than me. Maybe mid-to-late thirties. Again, we’re sitting less than a foot from each other so if my husband and I aren’t actively engaged in conversation we can hear pretty much every word these women are saying. I noticed that what they were saying and how they were acting seemed to be quiet immature for the age I pegged them, so I gave them a second look and lo and behold they were two young women in their early twenties. And one of them was Avery Singer! My husband was sitting less than a foot from her, while I was right next to her friend. We weren’t trying to eavesdrop, but they were loud and my husband and I were enjoying our food and not talking much, so we overheard some very interesting and awkward stories about past lovers. I just kept thinking “this is not real life, I’m not really hearing this. I watched you on tv when you were 12!” It was awkward and hilarious all at the same time. Avery has so many similar mannerisms to Ramona, it’s interesting to watch lol. So that made for an interesting last night in New York.
How much are you comfortable sharing? Was she pleasant and thoughtful, unlike her mother? Did she appear to have her act together or was the loud talking you referred to saying they were pretty self- focused and unaware of their impact on others?
Oh no, there was no awareness. The restaurant we were in was a nice place. Not formal or anything, but a great date spot and full of small groups and couples and they were being loud and discussing very intimate and also fairly gross details about their sexual exploits, including mimicking faces and body movements. At one point they both had glasses of wine and then poured one into the other so they could share the one glass and order another glass of the same wine to share. My husband and I were confused about the logic behind that move. There was also the typical young twenties cattiness about their friends and talking about how they were going to lie about where they were. My husband walked out if there shocked and I had to remind him that they were in their early twenties and rather immature. They were relatively nice to the waitress though.
jeez, I am in NY all the time, never see ANY one!
Welcome to Las Vegas newcomers. I have lived the good, bad, and ugly here. It’s totally different now than the 90’s thru 2005.
I hope you settle easily, and like it. It’s true about the dry heat, so don’t worry, lol.
TT,
Hope you get over the touch of whatever, and feel better soon.
I’m so surprised it’s April and the new shows are starting next week.
I’m going to check out the Love at First Flight, it’s on my to watch list. Glad it’s decent, I will watch sooner.
So, we have Potomac, New York, this week?
Everyone have a good weekend. 😉😊
Can you please give us the answers to the blind items?
Making travel plans for Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Death Valley, etc. So that’s fun and exciting. Doing oppo research for a candidate running for state legislator and going too far down the rabbit hole. I love that shit.
Hmmm … other good news? Thinking of deactivating FB this week so I can pay more attention to gardening plans, work, etc. It’s a time suck and folks are miserable and it is infectious.
And might I just add that I am so very proud of those children who are leading the way for gun reform in this country. I have higher hopes for our future based on their passion and commitment.
I’m seriously debating deleting my Facebook account also. I’m conflicted, but the security and manipulating data issue has my paranoia at an all time high.
I’m not on it that much, but it is a scary thing that FB data mining.
I’ve been dealing with homeless encampments in my neighborhood in West Hollywood. This morning I had the pleasure of having a homeless man pull out a sword and point it at me as I drove by – across the street from a public park. I’ve had the homeless taking dumps by my car and just leave it there — there are trash bins within 2 inches of where they took a friggin crap but they can’t clean it up?!? I had one who left such a huge crap that I had to search for a chalk outline because clearly he/she didn’t walk away from that.
We had a dude who should audition for America’s Got Talent because he was jerking off and taking a shit at the same time — in front of an elementary school! Los Angeles has been over-run by homeless encampments with full-on hos turning tricks, drug deals and users leaving blood-soaked needles all over the place. West Hollywood used to be a safe place to live, not anymore.
Sorry for the rant…I’m just tired of living like I’m in a war zone. I’ve had to install the Ring video doorbells and security system just so my packages aren’t stolen. (best invention ever!!) I stopped some random guy going thru my packages and I told him “look up, you’re committing a felony. Drop my shit and let your friends know don’t come round here no more because they’re on video and I’m sending this to the police. I’ve never had a package stolen again. (knock on wood).
TT, I noticed you don’t have a category in the top banner for RHOC. I think something happened to Jeana’s ex-husband Matt. Her daughter Kara has an Instagram (which is hilarious and real about motherhood) and she posted about having to fly home for en emergency. Then she posted huge white funeral flowers she was sent. Then she deleted both posts. She does have a post remaning with her sitting on her father’s lap as a child but it doesn’t mention him. None of her siblings or their partners have said anything online either but I know he was unwell. Wondering if you knew anything about this?
I’ve tried to track this down but can’t find anything more than you did. Thanks for the heads up!
