Versace: The Final Episode

March 21, 2018 by tamaratattles 30 Comments

There was an eye witness that identified Andrew as the shooter in the Versace murder so the police were looking for him right away. Andrew managed to steal a Mercedes pretty quickly. But there were road blocks on every road leaving the island. He tries to steal a boat but gets spooked. His blond female friend pleads with him on TV to turn himself in.

Andrew calls his dad in the Philippines and tells him he is in trouble. He told them he would fly right to him about be there within 24hrs. Instead, he started giving TV interviews in the Philippines and began trying to sell the movie rights. How many TVs does this houseboat he has commandeered have? He’s demolished two and then shot one during his father’s interview. Then suddenly he finds a projection TV to watch the funeral on?

The treatment of Versace’s partner and the funeral and by Donetella was just awful. I googled to see if Antonio did in fact commit suicide or attempt it. There is no evidence that he attempted to kill himself, and if he did, he was unsuccessful. He is currently designing clothing and was very unhappy about his portrayal in the series and the series itself.

Now I have to find something to counteract this creepy show before bed time.

Whose house/Apt is Cunanan in where he’s watching himself on tv wanted APB & sees his low-life Dad sell his story that his son called him after killing Versachi?

He’s in the houseboat he eventually dies in I think.

Yes, he broke into a random houseboat after trying to steal a boat and being interrupted. He was there about a week before apparently his dad ratted him out.

I looked it up too. Donatella and the family decided to effectively nullify Versace’s will that allowed his partner to live on the home of his choice and provided him a pension. Pretty messed up if ya asked me.

And I’m in shock it took so long to find Cunanan after Versace’s murder. Like 11 days I think? That’s just crazy to me given that he never managed to leave the area.

He was eating canned dog food with relish, after first gagging on it & throwing it up. I think when gave off that warning shot, not killing that man, he’s ready for it to be over. God speed.

Yeah, cuz he easily could have killed the guy checking on the house, but broke, hungrey and either nowhere to go? Yeah, it’s your for things to end.

That was a manufactured scene. The shot the houseboat caretaker heard was actually Cunanan killing himself.

Yeah, I realized that when I looked it up. I then remembered that all the theatrics the police went through were for naught since he was dead.

I’m surprised with how much murder he got away with even before killing Versace

Unfortunately, I’m not. The Green River Killer got away with his crimes for more than a decade as the police assumed all his victims were prostitutes. Cunanin got away so long because of his victims being gay.

I was mystified how he was buried in such a beautiful mausoleum. I’m literally STILL TRYING TO STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS.

According to things I Googled, his mother paid for the burial in the only catholic mausoleum in San Diego with money from an Interview from Hard Copy. His father wanted him shipped to the Philippines to be buried there.

We all know that Darren Criss deserves an Emmy for this role. But Judith Light was also pretty brilliant.

Darren Criss’ portrayal of Cunanan was remarkably brilliant! I found myself waiting for this show each week and so let down last night was the finale. His nuances, affectations and subtle mannerisms as a psychopath were chillingly real. The entire production from the scenery to the exact music of that time was amazingly accurate thanks to Ryan Murphy’s attention to detail. I agree wholeheartedly he deserves an Emmy for this and Judith Light’s portrayal as Marilyn Miglin was perfection. I wore her signature perfume Pheromone for many years and her line of fragrances are all beautiful.

The being reversed thing was off putting and I feel like it is trying to be too cool for doing it that way. It caused the series to be anticlimactic instead of showing the build up to the dastardly deed it was reversed and made it stupid. Why show the Versace murder twice at the beginning and the end. Almost like how we are taught in high school to write a short essay or build a paragraph. That said I thought the acting was great and that was what made me keep watching. The series would have been so much more powerful if it had been in real life sequence in my opinion. I loved it in spite of its flaws, it was awful the way Versace’s partner was treated, that was not what Versace wanted for him. What happened to Donatellas face, was she burned in an accident or something? My heart goes out to her and I wish her well. The public did not know the suffering Michael Jackson went through with his burns and the destruction it ultimately caused.

Unfortunately Donatella suffers from too many plastic surgeries and too much sun.

I enjoyed seeing the reverse order as it showed how he got there, then what little was left for him thereafter.

Based on Maureen Orths book on which the show was based on, Versaces lover was left an inheritance of $30,000 for life and could live in any of Versaces houses. Apparently Donatella and Santos Versace got him to take the money in a lump sum. I too hated to see this show end. The acting was brilliant.

TT Thanks for covering this, I agree it was sometimes hard to watch but I loved seeing the actors portrayals. We were on the couch going “OMG that’s BJ from Mash!” where has he been?

What about Penelope Cruz who made an interesting (and more beautiful) Donatella than the real thing!

I’ll be watching it in about an hour once my kids are down for their naps and my husband leaves for work. Will probably need a CBD gummie once its over to chill out! I’m glad to see this one come to an end. It’s been hard to watch since the Lee Miglin episode.

I loved this series…wish it we’re better received. How was Andrew able to hold up in that houseboat without the owner showing up all of that time??

Emmys need to go to Darren and Judith without a doubt!!

It was really good. I’m sad though for all the things we will never know the why’s.
So much will be unknown forever.
Perhaps that is why it’s such and will always be an interesting story.
Had Andrew not killed himself it wouldn’t have mattered. He would never tell the actual truth, I’m pretty certain.
