Married To Medicine: Reunion Pt 1

March 15, 2018 by tamaratattles 24 Comments

By Guest Contributor The Shady Mike B.

We have finally arrived at the reunion to a very tumultuous season as we head into episode 1 of three. This season had its relationship drama, voodoo shops, blow ups, complaints of lacking sex lives, a racially charged slur, DNA heritage, and ending for some an ill-conceived “In the Black” party.

Pleasantries didn’t last long as we start off the episode. We have Shade Queen Andy speak to each wife, of course with a little shady issue picking as per norm. He ask Toya if she has a bottle of Patron in her purse, she says no, but she does have a collapsible cup. I’ve learned that alcohol seems to be the gasoline that runs half these women, Bravo must have some helluva deal with the liquor companies. We then go to Heavenly, with the joke again that she trapped Damon aka Daddy. That’s why he seems stuck and lost whenever they film him. Then we have some shade from Toya to quad regarding that Quad isn’t giving her husband everything he needs since all he asks is for a baby. I kinda am feeling for Quad as the other women need to stay out of her uterus and let her decide when and if she wants children. Quad and her husband have a lot of growing and maturing to do if they stay together and have a child. I mean this is a 50+ year old man who was rolling on the floor like a temperamental child, and laughing like quiet person in a movie who just snapped and set off some world ending event.

We move then to Contessa, the newbie, the only drama she really had was missing her children and the sudden, rude departure of her Nanny. I agree with the wives i wouldn’t call someone who calls me a Black Doctor Bitch, a motherly influence, nor would I have put up with the attitude. She then goes to complain about the kids going to school and going crazy with nothing to do. Here is a novel idea, work only while the kids are in school, if it’s that much of an issues and be sure to be off in time to pick them up. That way she doesn’t have to jump through hoops to work again after the kids are in school full time.

Andy then goes to ask Mariah about Ms. Renee, her liking to her mom, and how she acted at the party. Mariah quickly changes the subject to how she was shocked that Contessa pays Renee to disrespect her. Contessa’s rebuttal was weak, talking about how they only see and speak about the disrespect and now how well she deals with the kids. Girl are you high, we saw episodes where she did very little other than just watch the kids, no cooking, no cleaning, just watching the kids. The kids aren’t her boss, you are. If she disrespects her, chances are the kids will follow suit soon enough. Contessa then boo-hoos about how they don’t talk and she felt it there was classism. As Toya and Simone point out they all had parents that didn’t go to college and hung out with the “Crews” growing up so there was no classism, just the fact that they didn’t like the disrespect. Then Andy shades Heavenly to say and spell  Contessa’s name, shady Contessa contributes “If you even can.” Something is starting to rub me the wrong way about Contessa, she seems to love to go in on people and their actions, yet really has an issue when it comes back on her. So far this first part of the reunion is a little lame.

We then have Andy ask Contessa about her military training, then off to Toya and Eugene’s sex life. Again she brings up that you get bigger with the more weight to a guy loses. That is because the fat covering around the penis is decreased allowing it to show more, it just doesn’t magically get bigger, Toya girl I think she needs to take some entry level medical classes before speaking. We then also here Andy asks what level of freak she is, she says 10, yet later says she refuses to go down, it’s not really her thing, meaning she’s not as freaky as she likes to make. Toya brings up how she felt about Contessa’s comments about the “In The Black” party. While she did make a point about it being a milestone she shared with everyone, including the world, they wanted to celebrate and share paying and moving past the IRS debt. I get Contessa though, I mean yeah why celebrate paying your bills like everyone is suppose to. I mean handle your taxes, the IRS is not a agency you want to play games with. I don’t want to go into a overly long rant about that but just pay your bills and worry about the other things you want in life after.

Then we get into Heavenly and the fact that she is supposed to be a better person. I just can’t with this, especially since she has to get advice from her own daughter. I got two words for Heavenly, “ Grow up”. She is very abrasive, and is one of the type of people who always has to be right, even though they are wrong as hell. From the arguing with almost everyone in every scene with the other women, to the tragic couples therapy in Barbados. She tends to stir up drama and stick her foot in her mouth. Love how Toya called her out about her talking head/confessionals when she talked about how big Toya’s butt is. She says it was all in joking, yet always has something negative to say about anyone, including her children and husband. She’s asked how she thinks she should be graded on her spiritual journey, her Jackie comes to her defense. Girl okay you all go to church, that doesn’t always make someone better. Heavenly just has an issue with taking responsibility for her actions or what comes out her mouth.

The women then go on argue about comments about Toya’s weight before segueing into Mariah and Heavenly’s argument where Mariah tells, Damon to get his wife, and why that sent Heavenly spiraling. Mariah brings up that the rule of the women was to never bring up children, and parents. Cut to break and when we return we get into the most dramatic part of reunion episode. Heavenly and Quad go for Mariah and her multiple Twitter and Facebook accounts, and how she uses them to shade the other women. Mariah comes back with “What I do on my page is my business,” to which they yelling increases to the point even Andy says there never going to get anywhere because their stuck in a cycle. Then he says were breaking for lunch.

Quad gets up after shady comments from Mariah, to speak her peace, looking like she’s getting ready to fight. I almost feel like they should let those two fight in a special, and just get it done with. Quad gets up staying after Mariah states Quad’s been telling people that She’s trying to sabotage her, and that she brought Quad in. Quad gets up with the No,No,No,No, while Heavenly tries to backpedal comments to Toya, talking about she has trouble with her weight, high and low blood sugar and being hangry. Before the break Quad speaks on how this is just a mess. Mariah is in her dressing room, talking about how Quad wasn’t in the first season, she was just a friend, as she’s speaking Heavenly draws a mustache and devil horns on Mariah’s Dressing Room Photo. As the other women go to check it out an argument breaks up in the hall, Mariah stating that Heavenly should go, and she’s too grown to be acting like that, while Heavenly pops out of her Dressing room, shouting that’s what you get for talking about her on Facebook Live ( does anyone else swear Social Media is going to be the end of us all.) Quad get into Mariah’s face, while Heavenly goes on to talk about how Mariah threatened her life,

WE come back from commercial break, Mariah is too upset to come back out. The women laugh at the crown she painted onto her picture, boo. Andy asks Heavenly what happened, Heavenly fesses up a first time, she drew a goatee, and horns on her oversized pic, into which Toya goes in about how that was what they were talking about before, with joking at the expense of someone’s feelings. Simone asks her that is she knows her relationship with Mariah if that was best course of action, Heavenly (Satanly more like it.) says maybe not, Quad said it was funny, yet is the bigger person stating they both just need to let it go. Andy then goes to change the topic asks Jackie about her situation with Curtis and how that affected her this season, he then goes to ask Quad about her marriage. She speaks lightly on it as the focus turns to Simone, while she announces that they had arguments and blow ups that lead to her filing for divorce, and that it will be finalized within the next two weeks from the reunion. This is how the episode leaves us, with several women crying for Simone.

We then cut to previews of the next part. We have Simone screaming at Toya about criticizing her, Mariah screaming about the poster, Andy asking Damon what is like to be married to an Alpha Woman, Eugene’s Freak level, and Curtis feelings about the judgements, then cuts to Cecil talking about how he and Simone both felt the other person didn’t want to put in the work to stay married, and then brings up a golfing buddy, and then to Gregory talking about how him and a friend met two girls. The second part looks to be the most dramatic, with Heavenly talking about if you can’t piss then get off the pot, and if your not happy in your f–in relationship then go. Sigh Friday looks to be dramatic.

Love this show! Wish it was on a better night. I can’t figure out why Mariah let’s Heavenly get under her skin. She drew on your poster which made her look immature. It is not that serious. So sad Simone and Cecil are divorcing. Also was Quad wearing the same outfit Nene wore a few reunions ago? And Mariah was saying Heavenly wasn’t on the show during the 1st season and she was just a fan of the show.

Good catch!! I was staring at the outfit wondering where I’d seen it before!!

Sad…her and Kenya wore the same gold dress once, and Kenya repeated the dress at the 50 shades of Cynthia party.

I though Quad’s outfit did look familiar, though it was a bit ice skater meets stripper for me though.

Thanks for the great recap, The Shady Mike B! Yes, Mariah is one of the Executive Producers of this show. Her first order of business should be to get rid of Heavenly’s immature, jealous ass. Heavenly brings nothing positive to the show and only tries to tear the other women down. No bueno!

This show broke my heart a little with the news of Dr. Simone and Cecil divorcing. I was truly hoping they would put in the work to save their marriage. I guess the whole living in two houses thing was Dr. Simone’s way to get out.

I’m happy for Dr. Jackie and what’s his name. She’s a better woman than me…

Quad and Dr. G need to get off the show and take care of their issues. I would think all the drama would definitely be affecting his professional life. I wouldn’t go see a therapist who couldn’t get his own house together.

I think Toya and Eugene appear to have the strongest marriage and really seem to love each other.

Dr. Contessa made the right decision for her family. She should definitely work while the kids are in school. It’s nice to see her husband so supportive of her decision to stay home. That’s truly a sacrifice!

THanks for the information. I bet when a cast member is a EP the dynamics must change a bit. Mariah has power over the show and how people are edited.

I’m thinking about vanderpump rules as an example and wonder about how much influence Mariah has over the final edit

At this point, Mariah is only an EP in title and not function. I know someone who is friends with her, and she doesn’t have much say on the show’s direction…if any at this point.

That being said…as silly as Heavenly is, she does create the drama this reality show needs, so even if Mariah could call the shots, I’d keep her on the payroll if I were her.

I believe Dr Simone and Cecil will pull it together. They both need to stop pointing fingers and accept that they’ve both played an active role in their marriage’s demise.

This is not true. Mariah created the show, the concept is hers’ and she’s also EP. One of many might I add, she gives her input and it boils down to what’s good for the show. Heavenly is an ass and they all know it. Mariah is very savvy, she’s giving Quad and Heavenly enough rope to hang themselves. Remember, she knows all these ladies. She knows the fake and the real just like them with her. Quad or Heavenly are getting the shit edits next season. Everyone gets their turn.

I don’t think Mariah has much control over “her show” since she couldn’t even get herself air time for a couple of years. You could read her tweets and see how mad she was. She and her mother, Miss Lucy, are snakes in the grass.
I love Heavenly. She is one train wreck after another. She was a LARGE woman before the show and she lost a lot of weight. Used to love Quad but not so much this year. She is the one who pushes all of Mariah’s buttons at the same time.
I didn’t think Contessa brings much to the show. Looking forward to seeing Part II tonight.

Wait…what isn’t true and how would you know? Just because you create a show doesn’t mean you control it. And just because you are an EP doesn’t mean you hold the power.. There is an interview of her complaining about being squeezed out of the decision-making process by the other producers who are men.

Honey, you’re talking about a “talent” spot on a reality show. Mariah loves fame which is part of her problem. At the end of the day, she is A boss on the show because IT IS HER SHOW. She has input however her word is not bond and she doesn’t have the final word. She has stated in multiple interviews that she gives input along with the other EPs and a decision is reached. To be clear, I was addressing the statement made that her title is essentially in name only which is simply not true. At the end of the day they need Mariah behind the scenes and in front of the camera.

Mariah has a vanity title but can’t control shit – she’s not even in the opening sequence LOL.

I was totally shocked about her infidelity comment. I do like her humor though – it sucks that after being so drastically iced out she’s STILL not learning to control her mean, vindictive side to get in their good graces. However, I think she was raised that way and you can’t give an old, tired new laces.

Contessa said that she is now like a “substitute” doctor. She works while the kids are in school.

I’m over Heavenly. She’s rude for no other reason than to be rude. I feel like they have given everyone a pass including Heavenly except Mariah and she’s done a least what all of them has done.

Besides being selfish and bull-headed her husband, Quad would have nothing to talk about without Mariah. Dr G is resentful because he’s been very clear about what he wanted and Quad never intended to follow through. He’s definitely handling it wrong but I think these two have run their course. She hot what she wanted

I think the reason the women hate on Mariah is the EP credit. She does like to act like shes the one on a pedisstel, the one she claims Quad is trying to take over. I tend to like her because she doesn’t play, and you can’t play nice all the time, otherwise these other women would walk all over her, kinda like how they treat Jackie. I too feel for Simone and Cecil, I was hoping they would make it though the rough patch, but then seeing how both sides were in the wrong about so many things it seems like it would be inevitable. Especially when she got so batshit angry about the $25,000 Cecil used for an App venture to bring in money, while she spent $100,000 on a Masarati just for her. I don’t think it helped at all that they were essecentally living in separate houses. I though we’d hear from Simone that she had moved on, It was a trip to hear Cecil had, CAN’T Wait til tonight’s episode, he even admits he loves the golfing buddy, something he has allegedly never said to Simone. As for Heavenly even with the issues she has with Mariah, she fills in the NeNe,Phaedra, Marlo type shit starting, and she brings the drama so I don’t see her leaving if there is a next season.

Mariah and Quad were BFFS season 1 and Mariah was in charge of the girls. Quad though was loved by the people and although Mariah is much loved, I do believe there was a hint of envy and jealous between both ladies. Mariah envied the peoples love for Quad, Quad envied Mariah because of her status in the circle as Queen B and her status as a worker bee. Come season 2 and Mariah and Quad were both being messy about each other. There were fights at restaurants, shoes flying, bags flying, a whole lot of unladylike behaviour basically. Quad already had her army intact and came gunzah blaze for Mariah when filming started.

Quad had her army and once she got the other ladies on her side, it was impossible for Mariah to film without Quad being brought up and her “treatment” of Quad. It was ugly on tv but IRL it was a lot uglier. The ladies refused to film with Mariah and it was in her best interest to re-group and come back. Not everyone can do it like Shaunie O’Neal and she’s barely holding on. The girls told Mariah either you’re with us or you’re in the office but you can’t have both. Notice she never refers to her titles as EP and creator anymore. She knows and they know and we know.

It was interesting to see that dynamic change so quickly. and become so venomous. While Quad did get the ladies on her side, that didn’t last too long, since they did begin to see that Quad really wanted to be Mariah, and take her place as the Queen. I find it very interesting that Quad seems to always have a comment on how the other wives need to treat their men, yet can’t get along with her own husband. It almost does seem obvious that she needed a sponsor, thus married Gregory, and her saying its their issues as to why she won’t have his child, Girl bye with that, you haven’t wanted to have his child since season 1, and there is always an excuse, maybe he’ll stop acting like a child when she does/ She can also only blame herself as she was helping out her brother, his child and his baby mother. Greg got use to having a child, something he really wants around. That made him pressure her for one, if you don’t want children she should of let him know that from jump and not promise to have one when she is ready. Girl he’s already in his 50’s and she’s no youngin, so move on if that’s not what you want. She could still be on the show in some capacity, just not a major cast member.

Quad is to self centered to have a baby nor does she even appear to want a baby. Every season she has a different excuse she’s not woman enough to come clean about it she continues to deflect and play the victim. She wants everyone to believe that her husband is a terrible person and she’s giving her all for the sake of her marriage. I’ve said before Dr. Greg is still regretting marrying her he called off the wedding then had a change of heart. Quad likes to bring up the other ladies short comings but the minute they bring up hers its a problem. I seem to remember on the first season Toya mentioned Quad had a mugshot and Quad went after Toya with a vengeance. I don’t think Quad will ever forgive Toya for bringing that up, Quad is not the forgiving kind of person. I think she only let her brother and his girlfriend and son move in because she thought it would quell Dr. Greg desire to have a child, when that didn’t happen she sent them back to Memphis. Another self serving act.

Agreed Shady Mike B. She married that man while he was in his late 30’s. I am certain that they spoke of having children and his desire to have them asap. Remember Dr. G called off the wedding at a certain point and let all the guests know via text. Something tells me Mariah could end if she wanted to but she has too much respect for Dr. G and Aydin doesn’t want her getting too messy. Quad has always looked for a come up, from dating drug dealers to ballers. When she met the Doctor, she saw stars and tricked that man. Quad ain’t about shit.

This is one of my favorite Bravo shows. These women are spicy and have an edge that is great to watch.
Heavenly has the most irritating habit of allowing her voice to go up 10 octaves, but she is the salt in the
stew. Quad is the biggest phony, she is selfish and self-centered, and she shouldn’t have any children. She’d be a terrible mother. I wonder why her husband hasn’t gotten rid of her already. I like Simone and Jackie, they seem the most sensible, hate that Simone and her husband are splitting. Going to be hard
on her boys. Toya is the funny one who seems to have a pretty stable marriage. I hope so, her husband
is a doll and a sweetheart.
