Nick Gordon was arrested in the wee hours of Sunday morning in Sanford, Florida after yet another attack on his girlfriend, Laura Leal. Apparently, it takes a lot for the police to be called with these two. The last time this happened in June of 2017. Laura sold a story to Daily Mail about how she thought she was going to die like Bobbi Kristina Brown did. She said he was psychotic, possibly on drugs again and she was lucky to get out alive. It seemed like she had left him. Apparently not.
A new police report obtained by The Blast indicates that the two moved in together approximately three months after her “near death experience” at the hands of Nick. The Blast summarizes the police report as follows.
According to the arrest report, Cops responded to a possible domestic disturbance Saturday morning shortly after midnight to make contact with Gordon and his girlfriend, Laura Leal. Gordon told cops that he wanted Leal to leave his house because she ripped his shirt and threw a bottle at him. He said that Leal and him had both been drinking alcohol, and that she “attacked him for no reason and that she is ‘crazy.’” Gordon’s injuries amounted to a cut on his thumb.
Cops then spoke with Leal, and observed a “visible injury to include slightly swollen bottom lip with dried blood.” She said that she picked Gordon up from a bar near their home, and while she was driving Gordon struck her in the right side of her cheek area several times. She also told police that he “pulled her hair and stated to her that he should make her wreck the vehicle.” Photographs of her injuries were taken.
Neither Laura or Nick was willing to press charges but in Florida, when the police come to a domestic violence call, if they see injuries, someone is going to jail. Nick was book on a $500 bond that was paid and he was released late Sunday night.
The last time this happened, Laura refused to cooperate with the police and the charges were dropped.
This is such a frustrating story where everyone involved needs a lot of counseling. Ladies, please stop hooking up with Nick Gordon. I can’t believe that even needs to be said.
Nick will be back in court on April 6, 2018 to face the newest charges. Seminole County seems to have really serious domestic violence guidelines for arresting aggressive predators; however there does seem to be a very high number of people who are actually incarcerated.
How does someone’s head get so much bigger in nine months? I mean his whole head looks like it is five sizes bigger. Are heads supposed to do that? Do you think Nick will do any time for this?
Just like last time, Laura is refusing to cooperate with the court and asking for the no-contact order to be dropped so she can get back with her wonderful boyfriend. Here is the letter she wrote to the judge as reported by The Blast.
“I would like to kindly ask you to lift the no contact order that was placed against Nicholas Gordon and I. I am not in any kind of fear or danger being around him and would like to be able to contact him as soon as possible. BLAH BLAH BLAH in reality my lips were chapped and dry. It was in no way due to any kind of harm or hit. BLAH BLAH BLAH I suffer from severe anger issues in which Nick has been an incredible support to get my act together.I am seeking help and determined to take the condition seriously as I have been diagnosed bipolar. He is not at blame, and should not be pushed into any trouble or consequences due to my actions.BLAH BLAH BLAH I am responsible for what happened that night and want you to know what a great person Nicholas truly is. When I have episodes, he helps to calm me down and prevents me from doing anything that could make things worse.BLAH BLAH BLAH There is nothing more I would wish for than to move forward.”
She needs inpatient therapy somewhere.
