Naomie Olindo’s New Nose Is Causing A Commotion On Social Media

February 17, 2018 by tamaratattles 98 Comments

I’ve been getting emails about Naomie Olindo’s nose for the past couple of days and I suppose we need to address it. The feedback I’ve been getting is 100% negative. People say she had some character and personality to her face and now she looks like everyone else. While I agree that all the kids today who are getting nose jobs end up getting basically the same nose, I think she looks great. Again, I am the only one. Someone said, “Naomie’s nose job almost as big a mistake as Jennifer Grey’s.”

I feel like she was pretty before and she is pretty afterward and if she is happy, and she is, more power to her. If I wasn’t so terrified of surgery and had the money, I’d get a lot of stuff done starting with a breast reduction. It would be fantastic to have round boobs on my chest again rather than long boob down to my belly button. And I’d be doing it for myself not for anyone else’s viewing pleasure. Just as Naomie says she had her surgery.

Unfortunately for Naomie, trolls on social media feel the need to express their opinion directly to people they don’t know. I find this bizarre. This is not even something that happened on the show. It’s more like going up to a random stranger in the Piggly Wiggly and saying, “You’ve made a horrible decision about your outfit. That color washes you out and for the love of God, put that spreadable cheese back where you found it and do a juice cleanse until you drop 20 pounds.  I’m just being real with you.” and flouncing off.

Photos From Naomie’s IG via Daily Mail

This doesn’t mean you can’t express your opinion to me in an email, or in comments here. I just think people who attack reality people on their social media have some sort of character flaw. It is unkind to flock to their social media and insult their looks. I feel differently about behaviors. If you see a reality person being nasty or rude or behaving badly I still don’t advocate confronting them directly unless you come from a place of compassion. But that’s just me. As for this site, I’ve always said we talk about the behaviors we see, and the fashion choices, and perhaps the fake hair, fake nails, fake boobs, fake noses but we don’t say negative things about their natural features. There are exceptions of course. It is very hard to ignore the fact that Nene Leakes nose grows back every time she has a nose job. Because that is a medical mystery. And pointing out here (not on her delusional social media) that Phaedra Parks is in fact never going to be a Wilhelmina model here is not the same as mocking her delusions ON HER SOCIAL MEDIA.

It’s a fine line I guess. Clearly, I am in the minority opinion about this. It’s the same reason I don’t have a single photo on the Internet. Though there was this one photo of my boobs in a bra and some point. Tee Cee was the first to chime in that she was not a fan. But that image is long gone. I wish I still had it so I could relive the glory days. I still get comments all the time though from people who THINK they have seen my photo and who would like me to know I am unattractive. It’s a photo that appears to be a selfie taken from a phone. It’s been posted on sites where people claim it is me. I feel sorry for the poor lady who is being associated with me. It generally comes with other insults about my weight, and how all I do is sit on the couch all day and don’t take showers. And pretty much every other thing I’ve shared here about myself. UPDATE! I just got out of the shower for the second time in two days! Because, Lent I am still fat as fuck though. My point, and I did at some point have one, is that it makes me sad that Naomie got a big discount on a nose job for talking about it on IG, and she is happy with it, and people are telling her it was a mistake.

Here is how she responded to one “helpful follower”…

“You are part of the problem. If someone doesn’t like something about themselves and has the opportunity to change it, do you think they shouldn’t because beauty comes from within? It’s a very personal choice and thank god I feel so secure + happy about my decision that nothing pea minds like you could ever say would ever affect how I feel now. Use your brain.”

In my personal life, when I have had colleagues get a surgery that I wasn’t particularly impressed with, all there ever is to say is “Congratulations! I’m so happy, you are happy!” Because that is what kind people do.

But now, here, in this space, feel free to go ahead and tell me what you really think. I know you have all been chomping at the bit. At least she has the maturity to make these decisions about her own face hand the trolls. Other than Brielle, who does not, and still denies doing anything just like her mother. WHAT? I’m just saying!

So, go ahead. Tell me what you think of the nose job. I’m sure she’ll never read this…

I agree. She looks great now and she looked great before. As long as she is happy, that’s all that matters. Who cares what anyone else thinks… And WHY do they care so much?!

I don’t get all the criticism. I am unfamiliar with this person, but this is a personal decision and who are we to vilify her for it? If it makes her happy and feel more confident, the what’s the big deal? Life is too short to worry about this kind of shit. I wish her all the best. Let’s embrace the positive. And if she is happy, we should be happy for her.

I HAVE SHOWERED TWICE IN TWO DAYS WITH NEW PJS BOTH TIMES AND NEW SHEETS YESTERDAY!

I personally think there should be an award show for fat old ladies. We like trophies too.

I see myself on the Red Carpet now. Camera flashing and some man from E! News (because misogynist who do not pay women what they are worth) asking me who I am wearing and I say, “My pajamas are from the men’s big and large and tall and wide section of Walmart and my jewelry is from Tiffany and vintage Monsier from Lebanon circa 1974. I’m just happy to be waddling with you all tonight.”

Some nose jobs aren’t completely about physical appearance, lots of people are unable to get good sleep/breathe well with septums like that. All those people speaking negatively need to go outside and enjoy the the weather or something ….

My husband had to have nasal surgery to fix a deviated septum that was making it impossible for him to breathe through his nose and that was causing him to snore sometime awful. They didn’t change the shape at all though. I think that’s a whole different kind of procedure. They can do a lot to fix the septum from inside, going through the nostrils, and they don’t come at it from the top like with a cosmetic procedure. It looks like Naomie had some of her nose bone shaved off the top and it also looks like she had some of the collagen snipped or shortened at the tip. My husband has a nose that is shaped very similarity to Naomies before photo, and they did not have to change the shape of his nose in order to do his septum surgery.

But her nose still has a lot of character. The doctor did a great job.. it’s not like she went for he Hollywood nose at all. Sure, maybe it wasn’t purely for cosmetic reasons and not health related but it doesn’t change the possibility that it could’ve been affecting her health. I think she only looks really diff bc her makeup is diff and she lost weight in her face.

I see the difference in her nose, but I agree that her hair color and style, her makeup and her eyebrows are all adding to the difference. I wish there was a before and after where everything was exactly the same except for the nose, so I could judge the difference that only the nose is making.

THAT is the problem. When people do too much. I agree. When they become something besides what they ever looked like. I used to love Desperate Housewives. Just found it a fun and overly dramatic guilty pleasure. Watched it long before being a wife or mother myself. Anyway, recently watched it again. And the character Susan..ugh what is her name? Anyway, looked so soooo different at the end. I mean a totally different face all together and it made me so sad because she could have aged and looked attractive. I find people like that sad. *cough Kim B.” But Naomi looks fine. People are rude.

I don’t think she needed a nose job at all. It wasn’t even *that* prominent. It gave her face character. But whatever floats her boat I guess.

I can somewhat identify because i also have a prominent nose thanks to my half Armenian genes.. I got made fun of my whole life for my nose and I used to swear once I had enough money I’d get a nose job. But as I got older and grew into my looks I stopped minding it as much. I feel like it makes me unique. It would be like taking a part of myself away, you know? OTOH, I’d get a boob lift and tummy tuck in a heartbeat LOL.

I think Naomi looks adorable, as does Jennifer Grey. Character is on the inside, except for houses. Tamara, when you are ready, & have just a coupla bucks, drop me an email & I’ll introduce you to my friends in Costa Rica, who run a recovery ranch there, where the very BEST & cheapest safe surgery (& dental work) is done. Beauty queen quality, no cat eye Hollywood junk work there. Even with the airline ticket it is significantly cheaper than the U.S. & you will be pampered 24/7. Get a little dental work @ the same time & you can write off the trip on your taxes. The most fun part of the ranch, besides having your own cottages, is that everyone else staying there is also recovering, too, so you have instant bandaged buddies. Frankly, high boobs make you look younger than a facelift in my opinion. I always look forward to my next trip (& no, I do not look like I am 3/4 of a century old).

You can email me at Tamaratattles on G mail. I am most interested in the dental work. My teeth genetics are American Indian and thus I have lots of extra bones in my mouth. I think it is called E torii. Other genetics also give us very weak teeth with very thin enamel. As I am aging, my mother told me A BILLION TIMES to NEVER EVER EVER get dentures. She hated hers. and could not eat with them. Also she had to have a bunch of bone most people don’t have chiseled off the roof of her mouth. It was awful.

I don’t have that but I do have a lot of extra bone on the bottom row of teeth on the inside. I’m down for good dental work. I also have a friend who is trying to make me move to Costa Rica. It’s certainly something I am open too…

For teeth enamel (and oral health in general, plus other things), oil pulling is great. I highly recommend. My teeth are whiter and more opaque since oil pulling. (I use coconut oil.) My teeth used to be so translucent that they’d turn grayish after a few sips of red wine. I’ve been doing it at least three years now, but you’ll notice an improvement almost immediately. Once upon a time, I considered veneers and am so glad I discovered oil pulling before doing something so drastic.

McGrandma, I don’t know the Costa Rica situation but I saw the Bangkok medical facilities. Medical tourism.
They have two of the most modern hospitables I have ever seen with American and British trained doctors and dentists.
Met a couple from Australia, on their mid 50’s getting her dental work done. She said all the implants, flight, hotels entire vacation was less costly than just the dental work at home. She also thought it was a higher quality.
I met a young American, peace Corp type work getting his shoulder replaced plus something else, $500.00 out of pocket bc they accepted his insurance versus about $35,000 -$50,000 stateside bc his co pay is about 1/2 with his insurance.
He was awed by the medical training the doctors have.
Costa Rica I’ve read is as good as Bangkok but less costly bc of flight difference.
I want to go next year to Bangkok but would love info you have. Bangkok is know also for plastic surgery which I also want.

She is old enough to make decisions for herself and she admitted to having work done. Good for her. She should tell everyone to STFU. It seems that nearly every top celebrity has had a nose job, because very few natural noses look perfect on camera from every angle, from Blake Lively to Scarlett Johansen, to almost everyone. If it makes her happy – good for her! Also, it takes a lot of courage, imo, to go through a nose operation.

At least she is putting it out there so that it can’t become an issue of everyone speculating what she has done to her face, although it does open up the gates for trolls to hate on her.

I don’t love the new nose but I think it might just be because I’m not used to it. She no longer looks like Naomie to me. It appears she has also done something different with her hair and eye makeup at the same time which is adding to the feeling of my not recognizing her. I don’t think it looks bad, it doesn’t look like it was botched or anything, but I don’t think it really looks better either. There is something about being able to see someone’s nostrils that I don’t super love either, but this certainly isn’t the worse nose job I’ve seen. She just looks more generic Valley girl to me now and less like Naomie.

She doesn’t appear to have sought out her spot on the show and I do not think she ever took her spot on the show as reason to put up with Craig’s BS. She actually has her own stuff going on.

Her parents did a wonderful job with her. She is hardworking and intelligent and not a Paris Hilton type rich girl.

I actually LOVE big noses. I think they look sexy in an almost regal way. In my family everyone has big noses except me, people have joked for years that my parents brought the wrong baby, or ask if I have the postman’s nose etc.

It is an intensely personal choice. My BFF from grade school onward had a very big nose.

I’m an ethnic Jew who’s always looked goy, but she had the nose, the thick, dk brown-black super-curly hair… and she was stunning. But she was tortured by her nose, by the kinky bangs on her forehead, and it was ~her~ face and hair, not mine. And after the Sweet 16 Nose Bob and bangs-straightening, hey: she was happier with herself. (Though the straightener blistered her forehead the 1st time).

Maybe doing things like this wouldn’t even be considered in a better world, but this is the only one we have to work with.

I think she now looks very much like Kimberly Paisley actress wife of country Brad Paisley.
When I first saw the news somewhere and her pic of after rhino I thought oh no why? She was gorge in a French way. Natural, little makeup. She’s still great looking sorta.
Listen.. I on my birth fathers side am Italian from Palermo and Long Island. My mother I get her Blackfoot Cherokee features. My nose has been made fun my whole life. My own husband still cracks the jokes. I simply reply just because my nose is bigger then your micro penis don’t hate. I hated it all my life.
I had to have tumor removal from nasal cavity 3/4 times in one year. Septum straightened. After all that I’m most certainly able to have rhino. But now I truly am like fuck you and you. Don’t like my features kick rocks. Ppl still even my mom, my siblings,my own crotch fruit crack. I don’t care I must’ve matured.
If you want it go for it. I really thought Naomi was stunning before but now just in the two pics I’m like she looks like all the other moms in pickup queue who wear makeup dressed to the tees to drop and pickup in the car lane. If I wasn’t old and fat and so very tired I’d probably do it. But I really don’t have the energy for after care and taking a shower to see the surgeon 509 times post care…

I love a prominent nose and I think she looked absolutely beautiful before. Maybe it’s the angle of the new pictures but I don’t find her as pretty now. Still it’s her face ,and if it makes her feel better, that’s all that matters.

She’s looks fine but I agree with others that she was more unique with her original nose and I think it’s a darn shame that she did it. It’s also a shame she felt the need to do it. (Even if it’s done for deviated septum, I presume the septum surgery doesn’t necessitate such a reshaping of the nose.)

Ok, I liked Naomie’s “old” nose. It wasn’t overly large, def not misshapen and added a unique touch to her beauty. She’s still cute, though.
I hatred my nose growing up, I felt like you could drive a Mack Truck up my nostrils but part of that was my face catching up to my nose. Now, my nose has a very nice straight line and those “nose holes” are the right size. I still want a facelift, cold fat fusion shit and a few months at a fat farm….

Her new nose completely changes how she looks. She doesnt look like herself! Its horrifying. However, it is extremely rude to tell them their plastic surgery, which is permanent, is a fail, and that you dont like hiw they look. So, people dont tell her!!

She always reminded me of Elaine Irwin before her nose job. Now, just a little from the side. Maybe. If it makes her happy then great. Good for her to stand up for herself. People are vicious. I do kind of wish she would have left it alone though in all honesty. She’s very pretty both ways.

I always thought she was the prettiest naturally beautiful on that show and now I know why. Because of her nose! She did not have the typical button nose, and she still doesn’t, thank god it was not a complete overhaul. However, I will miss her nose. I thought her nose gave her distinction. I also think Alexis Bellino is beautiful for the same reason.
She is still pretty and I am sure I will continue to be a fan of course.

I feel that way too. I would ha e had trouble figuring out this was Naomie in the straight on shots, if the before wasnt next to the after. The after picture on its own, not knowing it’s Naomie, is a cute, generic, pretty girl. But I do prefer the before. I don’t think she’s ruined herself or anything, but I think she’s taken away part of what made her uniquely beautiful in a French way and has changed it into something that makes her look more average young California, pretty girl. Her before was a bit more of a sexy, adult woman, and the after is more of a cutesy teenager look.

I didn’t mind her nose either way, although I will say that the new nose makes her look like she’s had her lips done, in a weird way. There’s a British reality star who recently got her nose done and it doesn’t look right at all. If you had never seen Naomi before, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell she’d had work done.

As for anyone wanting a mommy makeover/boob lift/tummy tuck – I had breast cancer surgery last month that involved a kind of tummy tuck and breast reconstruction. The first few weeks of recovery were the worst of my life. I honestly don’t know why anyone would want to put themselves through that. It is absurd. Just don’t!

Have a nose job or don’t have a nose job, I don’t care. It’s her face, not mine. It is completely fine as far as nose jobs go. I agree with the others who have said it makes her look completely different, though.

People who sit around a criticize reality “stars” from behind their computers clearly have too much time on their hands. They must be so unhappy with their own lives that they have to put others down to make themselves feel better. It’s quite sad, really.

I don’t like the idea of surgeons offering free of highly reduced cosmetic surgery in exchange for posting the procedure or the results on social media. It seems exploitative to me. Like with the Teen Mom girls who are having their naked, cut open body snapchatted to the world while they are unconscious getting their booties lifted or breasts augmented. The fact that they’re totally unconscious so can’t change their mind if they wanted to, is extra disturbing to me. What if doctor found some cancer in their body and it was broadcast live to the world before the girl herself even knows about it? Or cirrhosis of the liver? Or some other disease or condition that she would want to deal with privately? What if there were complications that involved some really ugly and traumatizing scenes of her dying and being revived? What if her children see the video in which their mother died and had to be brought back to life on the table? I think that especially with younger women, the desperate “need” to have the surgery is going to outweigh their sense of self respect and dignity. It feels like it is a creepy, coercive way of getting young women to let you advertise your surgery office by using their naked bodies that we already know they feel poorly about because they have decided they need to have surgery to change them. The girl is taking all of the risk and getting all of the public backlash, she is the one who has to defend her choices to horrific trolls online when she may still be recovering physically or emotionally from the surgery. What if it didn’t turn out as well as she hoped? What if there were complications? I have a feeling that because she’s agreed to have it done for free, she doesn’t have much recourse. Can she sue the doctor? Does everyone remember how crazy both Kail’s and Brianna’s butts looked after their surgeries? Their only recourse was to go back under the knife with the same doctor (for free in exchange for publicity again) to have it corrected. He can butcher the job and make them look ridiculous but the girls are left with these lopsided, cottage-cheesy butts and skin that has been stretched and cut into 3 or 4 times over the course of a couple of years. And each time he does a bad job and has to “fix” it, he gets them back on his social media for more publicity. I feel like the type of women who are willing to go to the type of doctor who wants to do their surgery live on social media, are not really in the best head space and are not making the best, healthiest decisions. They must either be so desperate to change their body that they will agree to any conditions (which is really sad); or they are purposefully seeking out high-risk, highly controversial situations because they like the drama that comes with it, or because they think that THEY won’t experience any of the negative consequences. This is probably the same reason why all of our teen moms had unprotected sex as teenagers, and why some of them have had trouble with drugs, alcohol, abusive relationships, porn, gambling, dating random people online, and additional unexpected pregnancies.

In Naomie’s case (from what I understand from this article), it looks like she only had to talk about and post pictures of her pre and post surgery nose on instagram. That does not seem as bad to me as the doctor who snapchats the actual procedure live. This might be something that someone who actually paid for their surgery would do, anyways. They would say “hey I had a nose job, check it out!” But even in this sort of instance, I feel like the girls/women could end up being exploited and agreeing to things that they normally would not agree with in order to get the free surgery. I would hope that doctors would be careful about screening their prospective patients to make sure they are mature enough to handle any backlash and are not making this decision out of desperation.

Personally, I liked her look before she had her nose done. I thought she had a unique, sort of exotic look to her. That said, I’m not the one who has to look in the mirror every day and be happy with what I see looking back at me. So if it was something she was self conscious about and it bothered her, good on her for having it done. She’s still a beautiful girl. And I have to say, her honesty is awesome. Takes a lot of guts to throw that out there when you know you’re going to catch hell for it. That makes her look better than any nose will.

I found her beautiful, exotic, and interesting looking before. Now she looks like everyone else. Both looks are pretty, but I’m the type that celebrates diversity. I showed my 10 year old to help her feel like me, and she said she’d have gotten it done too. (big mom fail there)

No matter what, as long as Naomi realizes she was beautiful in both looks and just more confident now, that’s what matters.

She was pretty pre-op and is still pretty. I noticed her lips look smaller after she had the nose job so wonder if she had fillers before. Either way, I could care less what she does to her face. When people like Nicole Kidman, Courtney Cox, Meg Ryan, etc who were already gorgeous, messed up their faces with surgery and botox/filers, that affected me more.

This nose job has definitely made her unrecognizable. I was so amazed by her unique beauty before the surgery. Now her face looks off, and nothing like she did before. I keep looking at her insta pictures, and I can barely tell which lady she is in group pictures. This is a Jennifer Grey status mistake.

I don’t think she is ugly now, its just that her somewhat odd new nose cannot compare to her beauty before. I watched the show a lot, and always have loved how it moved when she smiled and how well balanced her face and style was.

RIP old nose. Ye will be missed

You hit the nail on the head. To me, her face, with her wide apart, almond eyes, full lips and delicate chin were a perfect combination for a long(ish) narrow nose like hers. Prior to the surgery I found her face to be more expressive, which kept my attention, while most of the waspish turned up noses on the other ladies become boring and hard to tell apart. Nope, although I have no problem with bettering myself through plastic surgery, to a point, I don’t think this is a win for her. And I know from personal experience rhinoplasty is no small operation in terms of pain and recovery. And getting a nose fixed for deviated septums is different from getting a full on nose job, I know because I had both done simulataneously.

I thought her nose was great before but I think prominent noses make a face more beautiful, often. The Claudia Schiffers with the small pert noses look bland to me. I think Naomie looks great now, too. I thought they did a good job on it and she looks good either way. I still see naomie in Naomie. The Jennifer Grey situation was different. I actually liked her new nose it just totally changed her face to the point that Jennifer wasn’t Jennifer. (On the outside)
