For some reason this episode is starting with no introduction with Erin talking to a kid named Adam about the school’s anti-bullying club. I still have a full sixty-one minutes of recording so not sure why that is happening. I will say that in theory an anti-bullying club is a good idea. However, in order for it to work, it needs to have several of the popular kids participating, and it needs to have a large number of kids overall. Aw, Adam is adorable. He is opening up on an online video journal about his bullying. Unfortunately, there are only a handful of kids at this meeting and they are all victims of bullying. They need a school counselor in this meeting. While giving these kids a place to talk, is great, what they need is some of the popular kids to come out and say bullying is not okay and to stop it when they see it. Adam, who started the group doesn’t want to share and stops going to the meetings that he started. He does make another video. He says he has been bullied since grade six. She is still being bullied and he is a sophomore in high school. He doesn’t feel like he can be the one to run the group because he can’t even stand up for himself. Erin goes to talk to Adam trying to get him to come to the group for support. Eriin encourages Adam to talk to the assistant principal, Mr. Ackerman about his issues. His plan is to talk to the guys coaches and have them handle the situation.

After Kourtnei ran home to her mommy and her iPhone, Gloria has arrived to take her place. She’s 26. That’s a bit old for this. She is a teacher. I predict she will blow her cover.
Daniel is doing great making friends and getting to know students through the faith-based group, Inside Out. He is working with Tone who is facing drug charges in two months.
Lina and Jorge are part of the Hispanic Club. They get invited to a Truck meet where guys go and burn rubber and do doughnuts in their trucks in a parking lot. Lina is nervous because she is on DACA and the cops showed up.
Shane has been making friends in his Stagecraft class. Shane is trying to get Danni to go on a field trip to a college to try to motivate her focus on something at school. Shane gets Danni to go on the field trip. Danni sleeps. Then when they get to the bee exhibit, suddenly Danni is interested. Apparently, she wants to be a bee keeper. Now we are making progress.
We first see Gloria in a physical science class. Just like all of the other undercover students, she is shocked at the students behavior and lack of participation in the class. Later, she makes a friend on the basketball court.
It looks like next week is about Teen Pregnancy. I think I might be done recapping this show. Are y’all still watching?
I think you are spot on to just let this one go! To me, and maybe it’s my age, but it reminds me of every bad after school special from the early 80’s. While the conversations need to be had – it doesnt start after watching this show
I’m not watching it. Saw part of the first episode and got really pissed off watching how the kids behaved. Than again, when I went to school it was more like something out of a Charles Dickens’ book, in terms of discipline.
I’ll watch the show til the end of the season just to see how it wraps up. But I don’t think the principals need undercover people to come in to see what’s going wrong. Take away the fucking cell phones!! You’re worried about drop out rate, kids not learning and bullying? You can’t fix it all but these kids are monsters in class and the teachers can’t/don’t do anything about it
I watch it while I’m reading so that’s not much. Feel free to end the recap if you want to.
