In case you missed it, this show bombed and has been cancelled. The last four episodes were run today from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. I am going recap the last four episodes in very broad strokes as I am getting ready to go out INTO THE WORLD again.
Carrington came in at the end of episode four with little fanfare and is now part of the group. The first challenge is a commercial and she seems to be doing the best learning the script. Mackenzie has trouble memorizing. It’s a FIFTEEN SECOND COMMERCIAL not a Shakespeare soliloquy. Breanna struggles but finally gets a good take. Yolanda loves Breanna and makes excuses for her to the director. Yolanda gives Athena lots of coaching. Carrington could not even remember the brand name and flubbed the whole thing. Lil Yan did surprisingly well. Mackenzie could not remember the script to save her life. What the hell did they do to Mikayla’s hair?
Mackenzie is on the bottom. Breanna and Carrington are in the middle. Carrington should have been on the bottom. Mikayla, Lil Yan and Athena are on the top. Lil Yan’s hair is already more blonde. There were two winners, Athena and Mikayla. Okay. Lil Yan was robbed, y’all. I rarely have anything nice go say about Lil Yan because of her terrible attitude problem, but she rocked that challenge. Lil Yan feels like she may as well give up because Mikayla and Athena win every week.
Gigi is there this week to do a shoot with Tommy Hilfiger. Carrington’s mom is pissy with Mikayla’s mom about using the shower in the morning. Then they go to Gigi’s boxing coach and Carrington and Mikayla’s mom box each other. I am not making this up. Then Yo asks if any of the girls want to fight someone they were not already paired with. Lil Yan asks to box Mackenzie. Yolanda coaches Mackenzie to stand her ground.
Mikayla left a note on the bathroom mirror that essentially said she was tired of cleaning up after Carrington and her mom. This did not go over well. Carrington says she is going to pretend like she never saw it.
The girls all freak out at the photo shoot when they meet Gigi. Mikayla’s hair is back to her natural curls. It seems none of the makeovers stuck because they were not great to start with. Breanna did really well and Gigi seems to favor her. Mackenzie was not good at jumping around, but she did some great face shots. Lil Yan has another good session. Yolanda doesn’t like Lil Yan’s hard edge. But that is her thing. Gigi is super supportive. Lil Yan is hopeful she will win, but Yo doesn’t seem to care for her.
Tommy Hilfiger himself comes to pick the winner. He doesn’t like Carrington. He doesn’t like Lil Yan’s but Gigi sticks up for her. Tommy and Yolanda want Carrington and Lil Yan in the bottom. Gigi wants Athena there because she never changed facial expressions. Gigi fights hard for Lil Yan to at least be in the middle.
Gigi gets her way and Athena and Carrington were in the bottom. Tommy voices his strong disapproval over these choices. Gigi says it is about the entire assignment. Lil Yan goes in the middle and Mackenzie wins with a face shot.
I feel like my DVR didn’t pick up one of the final episodes. I only had three instead of four. This is the last episode though and it is go-sees.
Lil Yan gets to the go-see first but she doesn’t do well at all. She doesn’t know any designers and can’t walk in the shoes. Mackenzie does great. Breanna forgot her portfolio. Mikayla flubs her interview a bit. Athena does well but she is short. Breanna makes it fifteen minutes late and is the last to meet. She doesn’t have a favorite designer. So far Mackenzie is in the lead. They also liked Carrington.
At the next go-see for Seventeen, Athena does well. Mackenzie breaks out of her shell and also does well. Mikayla came prepared and knew who the guys were and follows one of them in social media. Mackenzie does the best. Athena was their second choice.
The girls go to a party and Nicole Miller is there. Mackenzie has her confidence after winning last week and is doing well socializing at the party. As someone who also has anxiety, I’m proud of her! Carrington sucks up to Nicole Miller. Then Mikayla and Karen pull a move from the Bachelor and cut in. Bold move! Lilyan and Athena did not socialize as much as they should have. Nicole loved Carrington. UGH. She also like Mackenzie. Please let Mack win this! The other guys like Mackenzie and not Carrington. The guys don’t even remember Breanna. Ouch.
This week, Breanna is in the bottom for not remembering her portfolio and not networking at the party. Lil Yan is also at the bottom. Carrington and Mackenzie were the top two. YAY! Mackenzie won! That is two in a row!
At the end, all of the girls meet with Yolanda with their mothers to tell her what they have learned. Eventually, Yolanda picks Athena and tells her to promise her that she has to promise to grow.
