Amber

Gary is worried about Amber having a baby without having him to do everything like he did with Leah. He is just hoping they will be good parents. That’s all he can do.

Amber and Andrew are taking Leah to the pumpkin patch with her mom and her cousin. She plans to tell them she is pregnant while she is there. They both think she is joking. When her mom realizes she is serious she starts crying. What is Amber’s mom’s deal? She seems a bit different. Andrew was forced to tell his parents that he’s going to be a father over the phone instead of in person at Thanksgiving because someone leaked the news on social media.

Maci

Every time a kid on this show turns 9 it seems shocking to me how long we have been watching this show. At least it is on MTV which has the least scripted reality shows of any other network. But we have literally watched kids grown up from birth to age 9, y’all!  Maci is trying to find out if Ryan has taken a drug test and if he hasn’t how she can figure out a way to let Bentley see him on his birthday. Taylor put together a trampoline for Bentley for his birthday and Bentley is having a sleepover.

The next day, Ryan’s parents pick up Bentley and take him to get fitted for his tux. It looks like Ryan and Mack have their own little shack. Mack is being pissy about Macy. She says that Maci doesn’t have test results because she doesn’t bother to get them. Apparently Ryan is telling Mack he’s done a urine test. She doesn’t seem to get that he is refusing a hair test. I just want to slap Mack everytime she is on TV. Not so much because she is annoying AF but perhaps it might knock some sense into her. There is something seriously wrong with her. Is that kid’s father letting her kid stay overnight with a heroin addict?

Meanwhile, Ryan’s parents have Bentley and Mack’s son from whoever with them. They are really cute together. When they all get back to the house Ryan and Mack are waiting for them. Ryan is laying on the couch under a blanket. He doesn’t get up to hug his son he has not seen in many months. Bentley doesn’t approach him either. Eventually the play a little putt putt together in the yard.

Maci tells Taylor that Mack texted her to let her know she received the RSVP and she has no idea that “they” left Taylor and the kids off and she was sorry.

Farrah

Debra and Farrah go to an Italian Karaoke bar and Debra hops right up on stage to sing. Somehow they have her song there for her to sing along with. Because, why yes, she does have a rap song out. I am not making this up. Farrah actually had fun with Farrah.  The next day, Debra brings Sophia some dresses and headpiece. She is trying to get Sophia to be in the wedding. Of course Farrah is letting Sophia be a little brat. I recently realized that Farrah is homeschooling Sophia because she is trying to avoid Sophia getting help for whatever her issues are. Whether that is counseling or she has some sort of special needs or the school reported that Farrah was doing online porn from home (kids tell teachers all kinds of things that their parents would be mortified to know they discuss at school)  or whatever it is, when the school starts extending itself beyond the regular curriculum, and the parent is worried about an investigation, they almost always pull their kids out of school and move to another district. I am worried about Sophia.

Later, Farrah and Sophia go to lunch with Michael and Amy. When Farrah goes to the bathroom, Michael gently asks if she really doesn’t want to go to the wedding. She says no. When he asks why she repeats what Farrah has said that she doesn’t like David. Michael suggests it would mean a lot to her grandmother if she went.

Later Farrah talks with Sophia. Sophia says she wishes they could live there because she finally getting used to the time change. Since Sophia often seem to be in charge of the family, it wouldn’t shock me if that actually happened. Farrah asks Sophia again about going to the wedding. Sophia says that she still doesn’t want to go. This conversation was perfectly normal until Farrah ended it by saying she is glad that Sophia understands relationships and how to choose a good man and get to know him unlike some people. There is something really demented about saying that to a little girl.

Caitlynn

Tyler told Cait not to tell her when she goes off birth control so he can be surprised when she gets pregnant. This little family is going to the pumpkin patch too. Tyler is still not sleeping and he is a bit short-tempered. I am always super interested in these pumpkin patch places. I can’t recall ever going to one. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sign for one.

Cait and her friend go to lunch. It’s been three weeks since her IUD came out. She says it is almost time for her period but she is going to take a pregnancy test in the restaurant bathroom because she can’t take one at home because Tyler is the one that does all the housekeeping. Well she didn’t say that on camera but we know it is true.

The final scene is Nova showing off her new shirt to her dad. It says, “I’m going to be a big sister!” They are so happy. And knowing what we know, it’s jst very sad.

Next Week: Butch seems to be in bad shape. All I understood was rehab. Amber and Andrew seem to be arguing about childbirth? Debra invited one of Jenelle’s ex-boyfriends to her wedding. Ryan’s mom calls Ryan to say that “Maci just said it was pushed back. Whatever was pushed back really pissed of Ryan and Mack.

Michael Abraham tweeted something about being on a family plan and the doctor is pleased. Families are not normally on a Doctor supervised plan so what gives? If Farrah is home schoolung that child, God bless her. Might as well raise her with apes.

Maci looks like a bitch until you see Ryan looking like an addict. Bentley and Aubree Lind-Deboer got extremely lucky in the step dad department. They have someone who cares about them.

I totally agree with you, they are the only two that have done so well by their kids. Aubrey is such a little sweetheart,….and is lucky to have cole as her step daddy. same goes for Bentley he has a step dad who will always be there for him, which is all we could have wanted for these kids.

Leah also lucked up with Gary and Christina because if she had to depend on Amber, she would think her name was BooBoo and that it was normal to have a new “uncle” every month.

I read that Cate had a miscarriage that is the reason why she went into rehab again. I think I may have mentioned it already, I think she feels the need to have a baby before Nova gets older which is crazy, she should take some time for her self, she needs to work on herself, get healthy and fit, she could lose a few lbs just like myself, I call it winter weight but I’m in my 50s and not looking to get pregnant but if I was going to get pregnant I would want to lose some weight before doing so, and maybe that would help her, as they say if you look in the mirror and can be happy with herself, and what you see puts a smile on your face thats what matters, I just hope she takes time if she isn’t pregnant as I have read in many different outlets but she owes it to herself and her marriage to be the happiest and fittest Catelyn she can be. babies can come later it doesn’t have to be sooner, unless MTV is putting a time limit on the girls now saying if they aren’t getting pregnant in such a time then they were going to lose their paycheck. Imo they have stayed on way too long they all need to get out and learn to live and make their own way in the world. again this is just my opinion.

I felt so bad for Caitlyn, who was manic happy and announcing the pregnancy so soon, knowing what we know. I do hope she will get solid help (and better health.. Mental, physical..) before another pregnancy is attempted.

    Mack is just witchy.

Jack is a mama bear and Ryan is a liar. Sad.

Farrah and Amber.. I just can’t…

You are super interested in the pumpkin patch places? Never been to one? May I suggest you drive around in a more rural area about mid October and keep your peepers open? You’ll see one somewhere. Unless you have small children along, it is tototally unnecessary to get out of the car. You will see orange pumpkins exactly like the ones outside the grocery store, only a whole lot more of them.

There are pumpkin patches with more going on, but unless they sell slices of hot apple pie and have fainting goats and a corn maze, its pretty low key excitement. I think we are about the same age; they didn’t have these things when we were kids. Maybe when my mid-30s kids were little? But I don’t recall any.

I suspect that Ryan gets his parenting style from his dad. The teasing that criticizes, for one thing.

As for Amber’s announcement, which was on camera, where her family is seeing this new guy for the first time, and their bipolar daughter who has already done prison time, makes serial lounges deep into relationships, already has a daughter she doesn’t parent… I might say something stringer.

This is not a happy moment.

Anyone else irritated by the girls giving their happy pregnancy announcements that are then immediately followed up by a close family member saying “NO YOU”RE NOT?!?! SHUT UP?!?!!?” I just find that to be such a rude callous response. I feel sorry for Catelynn seeing how excited they were and then having a miscarriage. Been there myself and it’s so horrible to tell everyone how excited you are and then have to go back and say you lost the baby. I hope she is getting some real treatment for her depression this time and give herself a chance at really feeling better about herself and her life. Wishing her well.
Farrah’s segment makes my stomach turn. I just cannot get past why CPS doesn’t have 100 calls asking them to intervene. When I heard Sophia basically repeating what Farrah has said about David, as if they were her own thoughts but we know that Farrah has brainwashed this poor girl….ugh its so disturbing to watch 🙁

Only funny note in the episode was Deborah “singing” that was so uncomfortable to watch!!

I lost a baby too that was a big surprise. I told a few people because I felt so excited (I already have two). My husband seemed in shock. I got kind of nervous about the timing and then it was over. It was really sad. It didn’t even really hit me till a few months later and I accused hubby of not caring. He did. It was my Mom that gave me comfort and didnt say anything that bothered me. Anyway it was a very unpleasant experience and I didn’t face the nation with a mental illness. We go back and forth about having a final baby but my two are happy, healthy and we can (for the most part now a days) afford them. It’s a tough decision. I just don’t know the thought process these girls go through. Being a parent is the hardest and most rewarding thing but you must really think about supporting, uplifting and protecting another human for life. The joy with the major sacrifices also. I just am not totally sure these girls process this correctly but just my opinion. This is of course after they already had a baby SO young.

I think Amber’s Mom’s reaction was pretty normal considering the circumstances. She had never met Andrew before and as it was he couldn’t be bothered to even talk to her during the hay ride! I’m socially awkward too but c’mon he couldn’t have rehearsed a few questions he could have asked her. !Even if he just said, Sorry, I’m really shy till you get to know me better but I just wanted to say it’s great to meet you finally – I really care about your daughter. Something! Anything! But, nope, he just sat there.. Plus Amber is doing the same thing she did with Matt, she met him, went on one date and moved him into her house right away. Her family knows nothing about him and how much can Amber really know about him after 3 short months?! So yeah, if I was Amber’s mom I would have cried too. Amber is repeating old bad patterns and this time there will be a child involved. Amber is not even capable of taking care of Leah, and now a baby is being added to the mix. I’m scared for Amber and for that baby.

PS Forgot to say that it was heartbreaking watching Ryan and Mackenzie both sitting/ lying down on the couch instead of getting up to say hi to Bentley after so long apart. That poor kid! Did you also notice that Ryan’s first words to Bentley were to make fun of him. I truly don’t understand either one of them.

Amber confuses me. A few weeks ago or maybe last week we learn she’s been in bed depressed and hasn’t seen Leah in weeks. Yet here we are she’s pregnant and a new guy is living with her. Andrew seems so skeevy to me. Is he a move up from Matt? I’m not sure yet. Well we know he had a job. He was a producer on boot amp yet he canup and move to Indiana? I was rooting for Amber but now I just feel sorry for her. I think she thinks she has to be in a relationship to be valued. I couldn’t imagine being pregnant by some dude and still talking about my ex “I was with for 3 years”. I just hope Leah dosent suffer because of the new baby, as in Amber can’t handle both kids.

What frustrates me is that all of these women seem to think that having a child near the age of 30 is the worst possible thing that could happen to them. I didn’t have my first until age 29 due to a couple of losses and fertility issues, and I haven’t suffered. Maybe I’m just sensitive given my experience but it seems like they think it’s a terrible (or lesser) thing to have children at that age.

I think in their case, since they started early, they want to finish early and have the kids all close in age. Plus earlier often means less complications, but they seem to be having them anyway.

I’m confused watching Amber and Andrew. Has he given up working now that he’s on the show? Does anyone know what projects he’s working on? Amber’s mom appeared devastated by the baby news, but tried to cover it. She probably knows what a crappy mom Amber is to Leah, plus wondered who the stranger on the ride was, who had impregnated her screwed-up daughter, yet couldn’t even be bothered to talk to her. Amber is spacy and clueless. It’ll be interesting watching this new relationship unfold. I doubt that Andrew will be the same type of father that Gary was, and willing to step up when Amber goes off the rails again, but let’s hope he is.

Farrah’s relationship with Sophia is so troubling. That poor little girl has dead eyes, she just doesn’t react like a normal child her age. She has no spark and has been so indoctrinated by Farrah that she’s incapable of thinking for herself. Michael recognizes the problem but is powerless to do much about it, and Debra thinks that buying presents for her granddaughter will solve the problem. Farrah will have major problems with Sophia when she’s older, and it will be all her own doing. I don’t think the situation is something where CPS can step in – it’s all subjective – psychological abuse rather than physical. Poor little girl – she doesn’t stand a chance – she’s taken to wonderful vacation spots but has a mother who thinks it’s ok to impose her sick thoughts on her child.

Catelynn and Tyler really worry me. Everyone is always focusing on Catelynn, because of her mental health issues, but don’t they see how tortured Tyler always looks? He has those big dark circles under his eyes and look as though he hasn’t slept in a week. I think his mental health could become as much of a problem as hers. Hope it turns out well for both of them.

Ryan is nothing but a lying addict. He made it sound like he was providing drug tests for Maci, while she makes it clear that lack of proper testing is the reason she doesn’t trust him. Mack isn’t a nice person. She knew very well what she was doing when she sent that invitation addressed only to Maci and Bentley. Plus, the scene where Ryan lay on his lazy ass on the sofa when Bentley came in after not seeing him for ages was unsettling. I expected him to jump up with open arms and a hug, but nothing. Ryan is such a piece of work, and now he’s found his equally unsettling soul mate.

When this show started years back, I never though we’d still be following these same teen moms in 2018. Different date, but a lot of the same problems.

I feel horrible for Caitlyn. After she lost the baby, MTV had her “act out” the scene where Tyler found out about the baby. If that kind of manipulation wouldn’t land you in rehab for depression, what would?

So did Caitlyn and Tyler, having to re enact the happy scene for MTV and try to grieve in the spotlight.

        That is their job.

It is possible that MTV funds some of the rehab, but they then have to talk about it later.

I also had to keep working, but did have a therapist I already trusted and no spotlight.

They didn’t reenact any scenes. the crew was there when she got pregnant. They don’t reenact scenes. But theyusually have to do some voice overs and commentary at the end where they may have to speak about finding out they were pregnant after they actually lost the baby.
