After last week’s episode, Kenya got a lot of heat on social media, and even here from me about her crankiness in Houston. I was feeling bad for her because she seemed to be down about the backlash. But then her hot AF husband took her to Egypt for her birthday and is spoiling her rotten, so she is just fine.
I am tearing myself away from the Grammys (I missed the red carpet!) to see what the fallout will be for Kenya. I also think tonight is the beginning of the end of Cynthia’s fake relationship with Will. What I don’t understand is why she played this part in a way that makes her seem so desperate.
The two that no one wants to film with are talking about vegetables and of course Kenya while pretending to cook. Since I am already late, I will fast forward through this.
Cynthia and Will also have a cooking scene making sushi. The script is really bad and the acting is worse.
Nene and Eva meet for lunch. They are pretending that this is the first time they have filmed together even though Eva was filming with Nene in one of the very first scenes of the season (that got cut). I think is was more of a test shooting for Eva. That is the wrong link, but I don’t have time to find the right one. That’s still a good one regarding this season’s filming. Nene invites Eva to Kandi’s Essence party.
Kenya and her cousin, Che go shopping for fitness equipment for Marc to use at their Atlanta house. OOOOOOOOOOOOO! Production is being really shady. The put up a photo from Kenya’s Instagram of Kenya and Marc. Marc did not sign a release this season to appear on the show, so they can’t show his face. That will be important later in the season. But photos posted on social media are free game. That is why you see me relying on Instagram photos because I don’t have to buy them. Several years ago, when IG first began, an artist did an entire exhibit with Instagram photos. Several people whose images were used too him to court because he was selling the photos for HUGE amounts of money and the people who took the photos claimed ownership. The judge ruled that photos on IG were placed in the public domain. I am simplifying things quite a bit for brevity. But the point is Marc doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on here, so it’s basically a “fuck you” from production to Marc since he refused to sign a release. That’s downright dirty pool. Kenya talks about how much work married life is. Who is she kidding. She’s happy as a lark.
Kandi is having a party to celebrate he Essence cover. I have come to love Don Juan over the years. It’s an all cast and Cynthia is bringing Will for their breakup scene. I am very disappointed in Cynthia’s look. A plain black short sleeve sweater and a black leather pencil skirt? No pop of color at all? I mean she looks fantastic always, but her script says she is supposed to be trying to impress this man, and that is what we get? Porsha and Kandi are fake nice to each other, as they should be at this event.
Kenya arrives and pretends like she is missing Marc. If this is the event where she talks about him, she knows damn well he is in town and they road there together. On the way over, Eva tells Nene that Will has a girlfriend. Meanwhile, back at the party, Will is telling Cynthia he has been single for two and a half years. This is a dress up party and Todd and Sheree arrive in jeans. Who does that? Yankees. That’s who. Peter arrives at the party and Marlo goes to tell Cynthia and Will.
OMG! Everyone is getting along fine and then Todd takes the microphone and thanks everyone for coming he points out that Porsha, Kim and Kroy are there because that is the kind of person Kandi is, she might not like you but she’s going to continue doing what she does. Why is he instigating? Don Juan announces that Kandi just booked Mama Morton in Chicago on Broadway. She’s there now doing 8 shows a week. Kandi thanks everyone in the room for coming to celebrate. Even if they took her to places she didn’t want to go, she still appreciates them because they helped her “elevate.” Peter slips out early.
Nene can’t wait to tell everyone that Will has a girlfriend. Kenya decides she should tell Cynthia alone. So she pulls Cynthia out side. Nene bust out the door too, because she’s worried Kenya will get the information wrong. How do you mess up the concept that Will has a girlfriend? Nene’s boobs are lopsided as hell in that purple dress. Marlo and Eva and Kandi also hop into the scene. Cynthia says simply, ” I receive this, and I feel like it is coming from a place of love.”
Will is very defensive. He calls Eva over. Eva is also lying about only meeting Will once. Michael campaigned for Eva’s now fiance extensively during the mayoral campaign. As did Eva. They spent a lot of time on the campaign trail together. Wait, Eva is saying that Will posted on Instagram after campaigning for Micheal once as if he knew them and was close to them. That’s a very Phaedra move. Now it makes more sense why Eva is acting like she doesn’t know him. Will was posturing in Instagram just like he was working to get a fake relationship with Cynthia. Will is lying. And he is getting heated and Nene is not going to let that happen. Will makes no sense. Kim and Sheree and Kroy finally find the cameras after everything is over. Cynthia thanks Eva for telling her about WIll. She says anytime she is dating someone and she knows he has a girlfriend, please let her know. Porsha, who is now finally in position says, “We’ll since you asked….”
To be continued…
Next week: Whatever Porsha says makes Cynthia cry. Mama Joyce meets with Porsha to explain how lucky she is that Kandi didn’t take her for every dime she has. Peter and Cynthia have a scene. Marlo asks Kim if she can do a trip with the African-American girls… Ha! They are going to make it look like Kim didn’t go on the trip because she is racist? Really? she didn’t go on the trip because Kenya refused to go if she did. Then Kenya didn’t go because Marlo was going.
