First of all, as y’all know, I refused to watch yet another show about women fighting in Atlanta when this show started so I don’t know anything about these people. I had two people volunteer to recap the show this year. The first on emailed me after the first episode that it was going to be late but she was working on it, and that is the last I heard from her. The second one, Atlanta D, did a couple of great recaps and then I think she got sick.
I did notice on Twitter yesterday that my favorite knucklehead was feeling all kinds of sad because of the news that Simone and Cecil are getting a divorce. I’m not sure if this is shocking news or not. I think she is the OBGYN and seemed to be the normal one, right?
Apparently, this is the big news at the reunion that just filmed. You should get all the details when it airs in March.
In the meantime, Simone sold a story to People. Here’s what she has to say.
“There is no if here, there are no games. I am not pretending. I am done, ” she said. “I have reached a place where I am in a marriage where I do not feel loved and no sacrifices are being made for me to make me feel loved. I must move on.”
It seems like they sought therapy on the show, and that it might have been working at the time but once the camera’s left, they stopped pretending.
“It looked like we were improving. The problem is we should have continued counseling, and we did not,” she said. “We let life take over. We were busy over the summer with basketball tournaments, traveling and getting Miles ready for college. We should have kept marital counseling as a priority, but we let the ball drop.”
The final straw was an argument about a month after Miles went off to college. The got up one Saturday morning and Cecil blew his top over something and that was the final straw for Simone.
I can’t believe Quad is still married. I saw a scene with her and her husband arguing and she would not communicate with him at all and he just left for the golf course.
