Last week on To Rome For Love, Mercedes displayed some really horrible behavior when she dumped the white guy she was on a date with at the club and started dirty dancing all the black guys. So tacky. This week they are going to an Italian horse derby. This should be fun.
Ashley has a date with Leo, so it looks like she is going to the beach. Maybe. There is a major communication problem going on because Leo’s English isn’t great.
On the way over to the Derby, Diann asks Mercedes about her date with Francesco. She straight up admits she ditched him when she saw other guys she liked better because, “You can’t bring sand to the beach.” Diann asks if she considered Francesco’s feelings. She said she is young and wants to get married and is not looking for a guy who lives with his mother. If that is the case, she needs to leave Italy because most of the single men, and even some of the married ones live with their mother. Diann tells us that she is embarrassed by her behavior. Then Mercedes starts talking about wanting a relationship that is Christ based. I’m pretty sure Jesus would not approve of the way she treated Francesco.
Shay loved her cooking date with Roberto. Gina was less than pleased with Dario. At the derby, Diann introduces Gina to Oliviero. Amazingly, Gina seems into Oliviero. He’s very handsome and very rich. Diann pulls her away from Oliviero to let her know he is a multimillionaire and she needs to get in there and seal the deal. This guy is a keeper.
Nakita meets Juan. I don’t see her with Juan. The Juan says he has seen her at the derby with her big smile and she reminds him of Taraji P. Henson on Empire. This pisses off Nakita because Cookie Lyon is a hoodrat. Really Nakita? You don’t take being compared to Taraji as a compliment? Later, Diann pulls Nakita away from Juan to meet Mauro. While she is chatting with Mauro, Juan sends her a note that says don’t take too much time with this guy, I’m over here waiting on you. And he calls her Cookie which pisses her off again. Nakita also has an attitude with Mauro, when she tells him he is handsome and he says, “Thank you, you too.” What is going on with Nakita this week. Back at the house she says she feels like she is not getting the pick of the litter, but the litter box.
Shay is introduced to two guys at the same time. Alessandro and Francesco. Not only does Alessandro have a man bun, he also has a ponytail beard. It’s a no for me, dog. Francesco seems to be playing beta to Alessandro’s alpha so I think she needs to stick with Roberto who was perfect. Shay seems to like them both. When talking to them she says, “I heard the Pope is really cool here. Our Pope is a little boring.” Both guys are rightfully confused. The guys have to explain to here that there is only one Pope.
Diann realizes that Mercedes is shallow and has to tell her to be nice to the men. Again. Mercedes finally admits she wants a black Italian.
Ashley and Leo are headed to the beach for drinks. Leo notices Ashley’s tattoos and says she has to many and she looks like a criminal. Ha! Ashley was clearly not pleased and they haven’t even gotten to the beach yet. On the beach, it appears that the criminal conversation was misinterpreted. Leo just doesn’t want tattoos for him. He is fine that she has them. I don’t really think that anything was misinterpreted due to the language barrier. I think he is changing his story. This date is kind of cringey to me. Ashley seems into him though. He explains to her that because he is a politician she has to be on her best behavior in public. Ashley is so not the girl for him. I think Ashley thinks the date went much better than it did.
The next morning, the girls are all going to breakfast. Shay needs to send money home to the US? Girl? Why? She doesn’t understand how the exchange rate works and finally gives up. Nakita went with her out of the kindness of her heart, and she’s pissed they are missing breakfast. The three who went to breakfast tried to create a Burger King egg ham and bacon croissant in an Italian sandwich shop. Why do people do this? Eat what the locals eat and try something new! Then they all start trash talking Shay. She talks to much in the morning. She has to go to the bank during breakfast. It’s always something with her. Ashley says the Shay doesn’t like her. She’s loud and aggressive. They want to have a house meeting.
They have a house meeting and Ashley wants to confront Shay. She tells Shay that she overpowers every conversation in the house. It’s everyone against Shay. This is not very nice. Nakita is Shay’s friend, and is trying to moderate.
I am still not sure if this is worth recapping, but I am enjoying the series.
