60 Days In: The Beginning of The End

January 2, 2018 by tamaratattles 38 Comments

I feel like I have missed a season of  60 Days In, but I went back to read the previous recaps and I remember now.  In case you don’t realize it, the show names on the black bar above will take you directly to all the recaps of the shows. As soon as I publish this one, this post will be on top, but if you scroll down you will find the previous recaps.

For the record, here were my thoughts Nate staying for another 60 Days, “It’s just not the bloods that love Nate. Colonel Mark does too. I cannot believe he is going to ask him to stay for another 60 days. But they do. I’d like to go on record saying I think this is a bad idea.” In my opinion, Nate has become institutionalized and lost sight of his mission I predict this will not end well.

I realize there is a lot of competition in this time slot for shows, but I’d like to encourage you to DVR this or watch it on Demand, it is the one reality show that is completely unscripted.

Oh dear God, it is two hours long! And it looks like they had to shut down production because of someone. I am telling you right now, it will be Nate. He is a loose cannon. Also, you have to be a fucking lunatic to go to prison in Fulton County voluntarily.

The Guys

We start with Nate, who seems to think he is on a game show. I really hope he had someone renegotiate his contract for season two, because this is ridiculous. Oh look. They are going to give his a psych test. This is a good start. The shrink asks like three questions and clears him.

We have a new guy, Alan who is a cop. And really cute. He is upset with the perception of the police these days. He’s hoping to change the perceptions of the police. Yet, he lives a black man on the side of the road rather than get him to a shelter or something. He has a beautiful wife and an adorable baby girl. He’s a bit nervous, as he should be. It looks like the inmates make him right away.

RELATED POSTS! SEE ALL 60 DAYS IN POSTS HERE!

Alan did not get off to a great start at the end of Phase one. Here is what I said about him. “A new inmate, Alan, has arrived in 500 and he really wants some shampoo. He asks around and the guys suggest he ask Nate and he will help him out. The guy goes into his cell where Nate is sleep and wakes him up. This is a bad idea but Nate gives him some shampoo anyway. Then Nate starts running his mouth in confessional about this nobody comes to wake him up asking for shampoo. It appears Nate is the new Too Tall because he calls one of the bloods to the door and tells them to talk to the new kid.”

Matt is an MMA trainer, and I think he said he was doing prison out reach. Did he just say he has 8 kids and is a Mormon? I think they really had to go to Utah to find people dumb enough to go to Fulton County Jail. His son Andrew is going to do it too. Andrew is a 25 year old substitute teacher. I think his dad wants to toughen him up.  Matt takes Andrew to some self defense classes before he goes in. Andrew’s scariest thing so far was a Mormon mission in Brazil.

The Women (South Annex)

Jaclin is a paralegal and an aspiring attorney who hopes to decide if she wants to be a defense attorney or a prosecutor. She’s pretty and that may be a problem. She has a boyfriend. Her baby died in a tragic accident. I think we are missing a lot of this story. They now have a five year old daughter. Whatver the tragic accident was, she feels responsible. He cover story is that she got drunk and pulled a knife on her boyfriend.

She is going into I-Pod. She still doesn’t have a way to call her daughter. In her first interview, she has a major breakdown.

500 Block

Alan came in at the very end of last season and cause a shit ton of drama with Nate who has already told the bloods to give Alan a rough time. But this season, Nate seems to feel differently about Alan.

Andrew comes into 500 block without his dad.   500 thinks Andrew is a fed.

Alan’s commissary order is $50 and gets the attention of other inmates.  He’s now a target.  His cellie is trying to help him out. Apparently, Roo is the new Too Tall. Roo seems to think he can take everyone’s commissary. Roo and Monte were removed from the zone.

600 Block

Matt is going into 600, that is where the older inmates go. Matt already regrets everything about signing up for this shit show.

He is so worried about his son being in another block, he is suffering. He makes an in with the brothers when a prayer circle is in, and he is welcomed.

Next Week

Things will be even better next week when the final four people enter Fulton County Jail You will not regret following this show. Edited to add, the next season was on Thursday, the regular night for the show.

So glad you watch this show! I also felt like I missed something between seasons so I re-read your recap from last season. I totally agree with you about Nate. He’s already complacent & feels protected by the gang, makes total sense. I feel like production aired his “psych eval” to prove he was cleared for another consecutive 60 days so they can cover themselves.

Oh & there’s another 2 hour episode Thursday so we don’t have to wait until next week. 🙂

I like Matt and think he’ll do well and will be fine with the other inmates.

Don’t think Andrew should have spilled his cover story so soon but that’s just me. I hope he gets over the fact that the toilet in is the middle of his room.

    Nate looks good, real good.

I hope Jaclin toughens up. Her husband seems like a good guy and very supportive. The way he handled her breakdown over the phone was so nice.

Can’t remember much of the others .

Roo’s long thumb nail bugs me

Lucy Loo I agree Andrew should just be quiet and common sense should had told him not to order so much stuff when so many have so little.
Oh Jackie, why oh why did you think you could handle jail?
When Jackin met the three officers in the underground garage the subject of drugs came up and she said she was prone to them, I think she meant using. Did I hear that correct?

No. Her concern was having to say no and people questioning her. It isn’t because she is an addict.

Oh Alan seems strange when he was talking after his cell mate left. He also did not look to be in very good shape for a young police officer.

Oh,he looks in stellar shape compared to the young police officers here. I think they just pull them outta the hay field and give them a gun. I’m 50 years old and I’m pretty sure I could outrun 1/2 of them. I’m watching it on HULU, but I’m pretty sure he’s gonna get figured out pretty quick.

So,Jaclin does def seem like she holds herself responsible for her first daughters death.I feel like her signaling to the staff/production crew in the first day is a sign that she may not make it.Nate is obnoxious, and l think the other inmates are starting to feel the same way.Matt is cool, and has a background in prison ministry..so l see him making it pretty far.l see Lyric is still there. She got into a fight during the last season, and isn’t part of the show, but an actual inmate.l looked forward to 60 days in new episodes more than 2018.Enjoy!!

Lyric is an actual inmate. She just happened to be in last season and is still in jail for this season. I remember her because she had long hair and because she knew she was about to fight she cuz it all off.

I thought it said Matt is a prison chaplain and I didnt hear why he wanted his son to do the program with him. But I assumed since he does work in the prison system he wanted his son to stay with him because he knew what to look out for in terms of when other inmates are in jeopardy.

How are they still able to film this show without prisoners knowing what is really going on?

They say they are filming a show like Locked Up but are interviewing people who have been in jail for the first time.

I believe that all four seasons were filmed before the first one aired. I know for sure the first two in Indiana were. The Atlanta seasons might have been after.

One of my favorite shows ever to watch, how is it possible for Nate to be in jail and still be the sexiest man ever lol. Matt and Andrew being father and son definitely changes things and I was really hoping they would be together during this experience. I’ll be tuned in every week for sure.

From all shows I’ve watched, co-conspirators are separated. That would have been a giveaway for something being up.

??? Guess you watched very little of it over its past few seasons. They are not separated whatsoever. It is sold to regular inmates as if the camera crew is filming for a documentary on inmate life. All inmates are interviewed or offered an interview but obviously they air more interviews of the fake inmates than real ones

If you and your dad commit a crime and get caught, they separate you so you don’t talk about the case.
Gang members know this. Father and son together would be a giveaway if together while no others that committed crimes are.

I think the person in the previous comment meant that 2 people who know each other or are related
and go in together obviously will be separated because otherwise it could blow their cover because inmates will be suspicious most likely although I don’t necessarily see an issue with it unless someone over heard something said to each other they shouldn’t and it blows their covers and they probably couldn’t say they are related either but that leaves ALOT more chances to mess up your cover story so that’s why it’s not done…best to avoid it all together but you were talking about something completely different so maybe you didn’t quite understand the question I don’t know or you already had that other thought in your head which is possible but it’s okay that happens to me sometimes too 🙂

I agree with you TT about Nate. He has lost sight of what he was hired to do. He’s kind of acting like the dude from another season, who’s name I am forgetting, but he was way too into it as well and I believe at the end in his exit interview he refused to give all the information he had learned about obtaining drugs?? Nate is easy on the eyes for sure, but he needs to go home now. I am worried about the son of the older man too..I think he is going to end up being harassed pretty badly if not beaten up 🙁

TT I was wondering if you have ever looked up 60 days in on Reddit called “fake editing” (not trying to promote anything just curious :0 ) where there is a long message from Robert on season 1 saying the show is fake and its all editing and trying to explain away his actions like putting the towel over the camera etc and there are tons of messages from people calling him out and saying he is lying and that he just wouldn’t admit he was scared to death…?

I had same reaction to him losing his fellow. Its hard to lose someone you’re comfortable with.A 2 person cell can be even smaller when the other person might snap your neck in middle of nite.but Alan was moping like he was lost without him.Theres something about him that I just can’t put my finger on that’s off.

No, it won’t be Nate. Never even crossed my mind really. Personally I think it will be that girl they showed at the end of the episode, in the preview for what’s to come this season. No idea what her name is but she’s short, tattooed and one of the first things she says is “I FEEL like an inmate”. She enters next week and it HAS to be her. Looks like she gets in more than a few fights, does drugs and hooks up with other inmates. I don’t know. Maybe I’m just really hoping it’s NOT Nate… he’s too good of a guy and he seems quite serious about a future in law enforcement. And watching that little feisty chicks scenes made me thing it’s most definitely her. I think she will blow her cover to that girl she’s making out with in a few of the scenes.

People on Twitter say Jaclins daughter died of SIDS. However the way she explains it, that the baby was still alive while at hospital, THATS NOT SIDS. SIDS by nature is SUDDEN. Hence the NAME OF IT. it’s not something you CATCH in tome to take your child in for treatment.

I looked online and did find the child’s OBIT. She was 11 months old.

I want to know the story too. From someone with a link to back up what they’re saying happened. Everyone and their mother “went to high school” with Jaclin on Twitter. That’s not helpful unless you’ve got some sort of news article , or old FB post about the incident.

I feel the story is fishy. But that’s just me.

I can’t believe all the convicts are taking up for Nate! He’s never gonna wanna leave There.

The Mormons I don’t think Will make it. However I hope Andrew does.

Great vlog you have here. Glad I found it.
