Kyle and Maurico recently bought the old Smokey Robinson estate for $8.2 million dollars. The 10,600 square feet house is seven bedrooms and has eight bathrooms. There is also a 1.600 square foot guest house on the property. It is located in Encino. They purchased the house in late October and have been working on numerous renovations. I was unaware they had actually already moved in.
Early Thursday morning, around 1 am the house was broken into. It seems like an inside job because the burglars appeared to head straight to the master bedroom for the jewelry. As is often the case, they had an alarm system, but it was not turned on. The burglars did trip a sensor in the master closet where they made off with a collection of very expensive watches that belonged to Mauricio.
There were several surveillance cameras that may have been working that could identified the burglars. The home has had a lot of construction workers on the property over the past few months who may have known when and where to access the property. The only damage appears to be the window they broke to enter the home, according to TMZ.
The housekeeper discovered the break in this morning.
I don’t think we will see this house until the next season of RHOBH because filming was finished when the purchase was made. Maurico has been itching to move for years and Kyle didn’t want to leave their family home.
Kyle, Maurico and the kids had taken off to Aspen yesterday. It seems like the burglars were aware of their travel schedule. The entire family recently attending Kris Jenner’s big Krismas party. From the looks of these photos, I don’t think this break in is going to break their holiday spirit.
Kyle really does have the good life.
