Real Housewives of New Jersey: Fauxpology

December 20, 2017 by tamaratattles 79 Comments

Tonight, I expect to see more of Siggy’s oddball behavior and unrighteous indignation, in Milan. In real time, Margaret gave an interview this week and said that she had to notify the police that Siggy and PETA trolls were sending her death threats. Apparently, Margaret has a stuffed black bear in her house so Siggy used that as a reason for to continue to spend all of her days online ranting about Siggy and Hitler.

On to Milan, the group splits up into two groups. Teresa, Margaret and Dolores go on a grocery shopping trip prior to heading off to an Italian cooking lesson.  Melissa heads off to a bike tour with Siggy and Danielle where they will have a picnic in the park.

I would love to go to this cooking class. They start making handmade pasta and the chef makes it look so easy. Next, they make steak tartare and Teresa takes on this task. All she had to do was chop up the meat but she also chopped up the cutting board and slivers of wood got all in the meat. How does anyone do that?

At the picnic, the girls all share a bottle or two of champagne. Danielle and Siggy are getting along fine. Siggy continues to say nothing nasty things about Margaret. She’s also pissed that Melissa says that Margaret is not anti-Semitic. Andy Cohen had his rabbi on WWHL the other night and she said that Margaret’s comments were not anti-Semitic.  Danielle and Melissa both try to get Siggy to take it down a notch. That doesn’t appear to be happening, she’s been escalating online for months now about this one issue.

Eventually they all arrive at dinner at Chef Alberto’s house. Teresa is still claiming she made dinner. It would not be dinner if someone didn’t start talking about sex. That is apparently why they hired Danielle back. Melissa goes to get some water and asks Margaret to go with her. Melissa just wanted to check on Margaret. Meanwhile, Siggy started ranting about Hilter and how it is her trigger word. Teresa says jail is her trigger word. Which is odd because she’s never been to jail that I know of. She went to prison. Margaret gives a very nice apology to Siggy for using a word that triggers her and explains very kindly that she would never say anything to hurt her. It was a very heartfelt apology. Siggy says absolutely nothing. Danielle and Teresa both tell Margaret that her apology was very touching. In a talking head, Siggy says you just don’t get over a comment like that in 24 hours. It’s been seven months and she still won’t shut up about Hitler. She has given Hitler more attention in the last seven months than people who actually write books about him.

The next morning, Margaret has room service delivered to her in the bathtub. At least it was a female employee there pouring her tea on the edge of the tub. I’ve never seen anything like that before.

It’s the last day and once again the girls divide up. Danielle is dressed to the nines to go to the shoe factory with Margaret. Why isn’t Melissa going? I thought that was the entire reason Melissa came to Milan. On the van ride over, they talk about Siggy not accepting Margaret’s apology. This is clearly all we are going to talk about for the rest of the season. And at the reunion which is what sparked Siggy’s latest round or rantings. I see this walking shoe in the Italian shoe store I want!

Teresa and Siggy go pray for Teresa’s mother. Teresa gets very upset about her mother. These two do some sightseeing and then Siggy goes back to talking about herself. Siggy wants to talk about how hurtful it was when Margaret called her Soggy Flicker. Teresa points out that Kim D. called her “an adultree.”God these women are dumber than a bag of hair. They they debate to see whose insult was more painful. I CANNOT HEAR ABOUT THIS CRAP ANYMORE. It’s not going anywhere.

Melissa and Dolores wander around on their own for the day. They actually talked about normal things. Like her doctor boyfriend and how he doesn’t stay in contact with her as closely as she would like. Then they order gelato, that they eat with a fork and talk about Siggy. Melissa bought Margaret a charm bracelet.

It’s time for one final dinner. The table is very elegantly set, and I am already worried about glassware. Melissa starts off with a toast but Siggy of course interrupts her and says she wants to address Margaret. She thanks her for her apology the night before. Then instead of apologizing herself, she starts to cry and announces that no one should ever reference Hitler. Dear Lord this woman is vile. Margaret asks if she thinks she is anti-Semitic. She seems to say yes almost but apologies if she hurt her feelings. Margaret calls her out and explains that an apology is taking responsibility for wrongdoing not saying, “sorry if that hurt your feelings.” Margaret explained the magnitude of aligning someone with a hate group (on nation TV). Siggy again brings up how traumatized she was that Margaret would say Hitler’s name. The entire table is on Margaret’s side. Danielle always sits next to Teresa. I’m just saying. Margaret changes the subject to invite everyone to her disco birthday party.

Next week: Teresa goes to apologize to Danielle’s kid. Melissa fights with Teresa and her husband at the pizza place. I’m sure we will talk about Hitler some more. Margaret talks to her husband about her chances of reuniting with her husband.

Siggy is shameless and highly disturbed. What everyone else realized, and Margaret clearly meant, was that Hitler would have put Siggy to death for being a Jew, whereas Margaret, not being one, would have been safe. That didn’t make Hitler a good person. It was actually an extremely poor metaphor, but there was nothing anti-Semitic about it. It was a true statement based on historical facts. Siggy, of course, couldn’t begin to see it that way because then what would she have to sob and act victimized about? For someone who claims to help settle other people’s problems, she is one screwed-up person. Who would take advice from her? I’m still glad that Teresa and Melissa seem to be getting along – there are plenty of other Housewives for them to fight with. They need to stick together – after all, they’re family. Haven’t seen the new episode yet – still half an hour to go on the West Coast, but definitely looking forward to it.

Since this was a shoe/feet type episode, May I say that Danielle (yuck), the shoe maven, needs to get her bunions done. Enough with the boobs and face…look down girl. Get to those feet asap.
And TT, I couldn’t agree with you more about Melissa oddly not going with Marge to the shoe factory. Weird!

I am surprised you have not figured out that Melissa’s “pretend store” will not stay open long enough to place an order for any shoes for retail or just for family presents. True to form, Melissa is a dumb as a rock a character trail she has demonstrated since she first appeared on this program. Melissa should stick with what will assure a happy marriage to her husband Joe, i.e. acting as her sister-in-law Teresa’s side kick, always agreeing with whatever stupid comment Teresa makes. it is CLEAR that “Tre” is the queen of the show, Deloris and Siggy could care less but for Melissa and the other 2 crows making “nicey-nice” with Teresa is their only hope for a second season on RHONJ. I wonder what Jaq and Caroline think of this crew?

This was the most scripted over produced episode yet. No one was acting normally they were doing going and saying what production told them. It’s clear this is not a show but primarily a job for these women who seem to aimlessly talk about whatever they are told

It’s production’s trip they actually take bids from city tourism offices to get the hightest bid, I am shocked that Milan is paying HWs to come there, but then again Charleston (and all the other cities) paid Top Chef to come and CHS is literally the top rated tourism city in the country.

And Top Chef made New Orleans pay TOP DOLLAR when they still had not recovered from Katrina…. I figure Houston can’t be far behind. The cities basically choose the filming locations.

Yeah, Melissa’s comment about how Siggy was scaring her, coupled with Margaret’s very logical and reasoned rejection of her faux apology, really brought it home how nuts Siggy’s behavior has become.

I do have empathy for her – her pain is real, even if it’s entirely self-inflicted and the reasons for it absurd. Like Kelly Bensimmon, Siggy isn’t mentally suited to this environment. Even her husband seemed to be begging her to quit, when he asked her to work less and when he told her to fly home from Italy.

At least her deranged rants about “editing” on Twitter have probably secured her exit. My only fear is that they’ll bring those Laurita losers back to replace her!

Ok, I’m only three minutes in, so I’ll probably have to add more comments, but…. can I just say how mad I am that they went all the way to Milan, and filmed a grocery shopping scene in some tiny hole-in-the-wall place instead of taking them to PECK?

I would imagine 100% of chefs and 100% of Italians all over the world have heard of Peck, not to mention plenty of the rest of us. To miss that off the itinerary is a ridiculous oversight, but to go grocery shopping and still miss it is just the dumbest piece of television I’ve ever seen. It’s like missing out on the White House if you visit Washington DC, or Buckingham Palace if you go to London.

@Lisaj your comment comparing Siggy to Scary Island Kelly is spot on. If this show is around for another season, Siggy has to go!

I rarely ever take Teresa’s side but the fact that Tre had to explain to Siggy that being called Soggy doesn’t compare to being called an adulterer is pure comedy.

I love Margaret and how she held Siggy’s feet to the fire in a non confrontational way.

Delores is so much better to watch when she’s independent of Siggy or maybe it’s just that at the end of filming she sees the writing on the wall.

I think Production demanded that Siggy apologize to Margaret. The night before she was telling Danielle that the anti-semetic comment was her opinion and the next night shows Siggy walking down hallway mad and nervous, then apologizes. Siggy thinks so highly of herself that if someone disagrees or challenges her they are anti-semetic. I feel bad for her husband and kids living with that nutball.

You seem really nit-picky with the wood chips. The reason the chopping board broke is because she was hitting it with 2 giant cleavers. I’ve heard of plenty of people wearing them down over time – Teresa isn’t the first or last. Its the reason I use a marble one ?

From what I imagine, Teresa, the amazing cook, was not chopping down (horizontally) with the sharp cleavers to chop as with proper hand/wrist positioning, but was hitting the board with the edges. No wonder it ruined the board. She might as well have been stabbing two chef’s knives straight down into the board.

Probably thought this year would be “her” year to shine and wanted to be the “leader” of a crew (like Theresa) so she doesn’t have to feel threatened to play someone else’s game. This year it is one group with Theresa basically calling the shots, where past seasons, there was the Manzo group doing their own thing. Siggy wanted her own group that’s why she is butt hurt that Margaret is Team Theresa. Siggy wants to form a sub-group and have the numbers. Its a power play for more screen time and fame.

On a serious note, I’ve oftentimes wondered if Teresa has a hearing impediment. She has trouble pronouncing words. I am saying this because I suffer from hearing loss and it looks that way to me. She always looks at the person speaking to her as to read their lips like I do. She has mistaken people for what they say and causes her to fly off the handle when she shouldn’t have. She’s lost a husband and her mother (whom even those who despise her can admit she cherished) in a short period of time and seems totally void of any life. I hope she takes time for herself and her girls. She may need money, but money won’t fix the problems that need fixing and walking around zombified for strangers to gawk at on their TV isn’t going to help her heal.

I like Margaret, she is interesting and fun and has a cute mom. She said a dumb thing, apologized and Siggy is just showing the world that she is a full on nutcase. Siggy is not fun or interesting, she is really irritating this season again. I thought Theresa was very sad about her mom. My mom died last year so I got That. Nothing makes it better, time makes it easier. Danielle is almost levitating with glee. I think that she is going to loose it big time soon.

I didn’t care for Margaret at all when she first came on the show, but she has really grown on me. It took a lot of restraint not to get angry during dinner when Siggy tried to stir things up again. Margaret took a deep breath, waited a few seconds, and then responded in an intelligent way. Siggy has done her so-called career as a life coach immeasurable harm with her crazy behavior this season. Who would want her to guide them in anything? I wouldn’t take her advice on how to tie my shoes, let alone on major life decisions.

Margaret said Melissa is “super successful” hmm.
    Just found odd.
P.s. Siggy is really something else, not in a good way. I’m getting very bored by her, her tears, her conversations, apologies, non-apologies, it’s a lot.

Can I ask if anyone here has a “trigger word” and if so what happens when you hear it? This is not a common phrase amongst healthy adults is it?

I do not have a trigger word in fact so many things annoy me it would be hard to narrow it down

Okay. So, we’ve got a resurgence of deadly and virulent racism exploding hand-in-glove with a fresh wave of seriously threatening, bona fide anti-semitism — and Ms Flicker is smearing a co-worker ’cause they just don’t get along?

Siggy, put a sock in it. Her trash isn’t entertaining, and only trivializes the truly dangerous stuff that we’re facing. She’s lucky enough to live in an area where the threat seems distant and not-quite-real… or rather, it seems that way if you avoid reading newspapers and don’t bother to think about anything happening outside your own little bubble.

I’d like to state that most of global and the owner of this site is PRO PALESTINE and horrified by Israel’s “settlement camps” and hostile takeover of Palestine displacing so many families and inciting violence. The nature of this country is to give shit tons of money to Israel. It’s despicable.

The genuine, scary-activist antisemitism has nothing to do with Israel; it’s specifically directed against American Jews.

On the other hand, deploring Israel’s treatment of Palestinians is rarely “anti-Semitic;” it’s a moral and political issue.

The VERY LARGE percentage of the globe is :anti-Semitic. Israel is pretty high up on the most hated countries list, primarily for their hostile takeover of Palestine and pushing Palestians out of their homes and basically forcing them into settlement camp. Most of the world hates Israel for this.

It is an unlawful military occupation in complete violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

And yet, we pay out the ass for their protective shield against missiles and we pay them more money than almost anyone excepty Afghanistan every single year. Why? Because the Jews are very wealthy politicians and so we send them billions of dollars every year to help them disenfranchise Palestinians.

It’s so not how to make America great again. I do not want to send my tax dollars to Israel but we have been for 70 years to allow them to push Palestinians from their homeland.

Well, I always say that if Jews have a right to take Israel back because it was theirs 2000 years ago – is it too much to ask to get borders of my country to what they were in 1720!? Hello, it’s almost like yesterday in comparison! 😀

“we’ve got a resurgence of deadly and virulent racism” I agree! The Israelis are trying to klll the Palestinians and forcing them out of their own country.

In case my last reply failed to clarify things…

I was referring to the sh*t that has been happening all over the US — from the Breitbart White House hires, to the tiki-torch demonstrations with their “blood and soil” chants, to the online “ethnonationalists” who actually believe in 19th century conspiracy theories and share address information regarding Jewish “Social Justice Warriors” who speak out against racism, homophobia, xenophobia, etc.

Am not at all sure that “deadly and virulent” is an overstatement. And this sort of thing is what Siggy’s nonsense is trivializing.

I guess Teresa has stopped pretending to be humbled by her experience in prison, because I noticed in the previews that she’s swapped that boring Lexus she got when she was released for a brand new Range Rover Sport.

I also couldn’t help noticing how their house is still stuffed with valuable items, like the grand piano. Is it a matter of public record how much of the cash they stole they’ve paid back? Her lawyer seemed genuinely useless, so I’m surprised he’s managed to pull this off if he really has got her off the hook from the rest of their restitution.
