Drag doesn’t stop when RuPaul’s Drag Race is on hiatus. Season 4 and All Stars 2 “supervillain” Phi Phi O’Hara saw what Hurricane Maria did to Puerto Rico and wanted to help. She called on 28 of her Drag Race friends to donate their time (and tips) for a special, one night performance with all proceeds going to Somos Una Voz. On Monday, Queens United/Reinas Unidas raised $77,000 for Puerto Rico. It’s pretty amazing what can be accomplished when we actually care. And a special shout out to Miss Phi Phi. Be careful, girl. Your sweet side is showing.
On Sunday night’s Real Housewives of Atlanta premiere, Cynthia threw herself a 50th birthday party. It was a hoot to see the RHOA ladies dressed up in their favorite Cynthia looks. Even the Married to Medicine ladies were there. But a background player kept catching my attention. I was wracking my brain. Where do I know that tall drink of water from? I should have realized sooner… It was none other than Miss Nina Bo’nina Banana Fofana Osama Bin Laden Brown! It’s nice to see our favorite peach shine.
Some of us still aren’t over Valentina’s shocking season 9 elimination. Well, Alaska feels our pain. Her version of Despacito is called Valentina and it’s a real earworm. I’m addicted and I hope you enjoy it too!
Fabulous Saturday night post with my favorite drag queen Valentina (SHE WAS ROBBED! SO NOT OVER IT! SHE BETTER BE THE SURPISE ON ALLSTARS!) and Lady C’s favorite, Alaska. Love the song. My Spanish sucks.
I’m loving Alaska on Scared Famous. She gets a lot of confessional time because she’s a seasoned reality star and gives great face at all times. I even love her odd vocal fry.
Alaska just warms my heart. And her “boy Valentina” look kills me!
I don’t think I fully appreciated Alaska until Scared Famous. It’s the best part of the show. Though it is kind of creepy. Probably because even though I know (and the cast knows) that all of the scary stuff is staged, I lived in Savannah and it is a town with lots of local stories about ghosts and haints and scary stuff happening.
On Sex and the City, NYC was the 5th girl. I guess Savannah is one of Scared Famous’ celebrities… And I’m so glad you’re getting Alaska’s charm. On her, even the vocal fry works.
“Drag Corner” – I love it, Lady C – thank you!!!
I second that emotion!
So it sounds like “Scared Famous” is worth taking a look at. Debating whether to watch, but sounds different and fun.
Hoping Drag Corner is a regular event. Thanks Lady C.
As much as I love Sharon Needles, Alaska is just fabulous. Her hommage to Valentina is everything. I could watch it all day. It is both sweet and funny.
Love queens and kings. Such extreme art. Such beauty!
Why doesn’t Mother Ru have a King edition Drag Race?
