It’s time for a TRIPLE PREMIERE night on Bravo, and Nene Leakes will be on WWHL. This season I have a fabulous recapper for Married to Medicine who has all the inside tea. Also, I’ve coerced someone into trying their hand at recapping Xscape. Also tonight is The Walking Dead, recapped by the fabulous Lady C. So Sunday nights are going to be busier than ever!
We start off the season at the OLG restaurant. While I would love to go there on weekend afternoon for lunch, that will not be happening for a while because the place has a line around the block all the time and people are waiting hours to be seated. Kandi looks gorgeous. Todd and Kandi are starting to realize how much work a restaurant business is. Especially one as popular as this one.
Cynthia is having yet another 50th birthday party. She seriously has to be 62 by now. Nene stops by Lake Bailey to talk about her birthday part theme. Everyone will be dressing up as Cynthia in one of the iconic looks. Then she drops the news to Nene that Kenya is officially married. Well, it looks like Straight From the A and Freddy O were the websites picked for the show. While I was hoping mine was going to be used, I’m happy for Atlien and Freddy, two local Atlanta bloggers. Kenya is on the way over. Thankfully Cynthia is admitting that she has know about Marc for quite some time. It sounds like they are not even allowed to say Marc’s name on the show, so they will be referring to him as “baby.” Everyone knows Kenya’s husband’s name is Marc Daly. So far, Nene and Cynthia are supporting Kenya, so that’s a good thing.
Porsha big story line this season is that she is vegan. Seriously, that his her storyline. Oh and she has a podcast. Porsha rehashed the whole ordeal with Phaedra from last season. It seems like Phaedra and Porsha still text. She hasn’t spoken to Kandi at all since the reunion. I’m bored.
Nene is still claiming that she has a clothing store. The store has been shut down and moved out to the hinterlands where Nene lives. Sheree wins the first really bad wig award of the year.
Edited to show the white wig Sheree choose to wear in confessional, when whatever she wears will be shown over several episodes.
In her talking head she as on some sort of very white, straw looking thing on her head. It’s right of there with that Bride of Frankenstein thing Nene used to wear. But wait, in the same scene we get a second really bad wig on Sheree. It’s a least a color found on humans that are nor albinos, but there is something crazy happening on top of her head. It’s hilarious. So far, Sheree’s wigs are the most interesting thing on this episode. In the second stupid wig, Sheree, whose story line this season is dating a federal inmate, seems to think she has room to talk about someone else’s dating life. Nene and Sheree have talk about Porsha and Phaedra. Sheree says she feels like Porsha was manipulated.
Kenya talks with her father on the phone. He sounds drunk, or on medication or something. Kenya didn’t invite her father to the wedding. Actually I heard that her father was on vacation on another island at the time she eloped in Saint Lucia.
Sheree and Porsha meet at the wig shop to select a Cynthia wig. They talk to continue the set up for the season of Nene against Porsha. Porsha is upset that Nene went on WWHL and said Porsha needed to be fired right along with Phaedra. Well, it doesn’t happen often, but Nene was dead right about that.
Somehow Peter Thomas is still on the show. I think he is planning to surprise Cynthia at her party. I thought everyone did a great job with their Cynthia outfits. It was such a cute idea. The side by side photos were a fun touch.
At the party, Nene greets Kenya as “Ms. Daly.” It seems that after Kenya posted his name on social media, they are free to say his name.
At this point in filming, Nene, Kenya, Cynthia and Kandi are in one click and Sheree chooses to be on team Porsha. Porsha catches Kandi off guard with a hug. I remember right after I quit teaching because my principal has turned into an extreme douchebag, I was struggling with anxiety and depression. I had finally made it out of the house for the first time and was at a restaurant by Perimeter Mall after doing some shopping. I was sitting at the bar with a young lady who I’d met there talking about her business and networking possibilities when she pointed out that there were two men in a booth staring at us. It was the principal and his boyfriend. I immediately had a panic attack, Then on his way out he stopped and hugged me. I was FURIOUS at myself for not telling him to get the hell away from me. That is how Kandi is feeling after getting blindsided by a hug from Porsha. It’s a very infuriating situation.
Kandi won the best Cynthia contest with her co-cola can hair rollers. But she has had quite enough of Porsha being around her so she walks off on that conversation. She goes to hang with Nene who doesn’t want to hang with Porsha either. Sheree resumes her role as the bone carrier this season and tries to get Nene and Porsha to talk.
Nene and Porsha do eventually have words but nothing gets accomplished. Nene denies saying she wanted Porsha to get fired. Nene has had enough of Porsha and she storms out of the party early.
In the previews we see Kenya crying on the phone with someone saying that all of the drama is getting to Marc and she doesn’t want to get divorced. She should have just quit the show right then, since either way she is not coming back next season.
Well, that was an underwhelming start to the season. Sorry to make you all put on clean underwear for now reason. 🙁
