Sorry I haven’t posted an open forum the past few weekends. There were so many natural disasters and people dying I just couldn’t write a random post on silly things, and I couldn’t deal with any more tragic news. The depression and anxiety has been at unprecedented levels I am finally back at just the usual high levels of THE CRAZY. Today I went out in the world to see friends and family and take some time away from the site and I’m feeling better. So now I am really to give y’all another open forum and to tell you a bit about my week.
First, I need to talk to you about Whole Foods ghosting me, because it was right up there with the worst breakups in my life. On Thursday, I had to go to pay the tax man. I’d been so down in the dumps it took a week or so to even get out the door and by the time I arrived I had to pay a late fee. It always pisses me off when THE CRAZY costs me money. But I got it done and went to a couple of banks and since they are by my Whole Foods I went there because I really needed organic coffee, and electrolyte water and a few other things I only buy at whole foods. I was so excited I finally got myself there when I noticed that the parking lot was kind of empty. Then I saw the sign that said, “Fuck you, Tamara, you have not bother to come see us for months so we’ve moved our store 20 miles away because we know you will not ever drive that far. ” So nasty, so rude. My apologies to the entire city of Marietta for making Whole Foods leave us. Now my best option is Buckhead and I hate the Buckhead Whole Foods, and if I’m going to go all the way to Buckhead, I’ll just go to my favorite Trader Joe’s. You’ve broken my heart Whole Foods, but Trader Joe’s has those cookie thins and three buck Chuck so fuck you, I will be just fine.
So in the meantime I went to Publix and they had raw chicken wings on sale half price. They put them right by the entrance so I practically tripped over the display. I generally only roast a whole chicken but these wings were like $2.50 for six big, fat wings so I thought I’d learn how to make wings like you get at the bar. I went with lemon pepper and I just ate some of them. They tasted good, but the meat was the wrong texture. It was kind of soft. As I am typing this I realize the answer to my question, “What did I do wrong?” I marinated them in lemon juice and garlic over night. I see now that was a mistake. So nevermind, and don’t marinate wings before baking them.
Laura Dern and a whole bunch of other people were in my hood all week and are coming back next week. The ghetto has become the it place for movies to film housing for the poors. The thing is this crew has hired a (hopefully) off duty policeman to sit in a patrol car for 12 to 14 hours a day and he sits outside the house with his blue lights flashing the entire time. While I am thrilled the cops actually finally discovered the neighborhood, having a strobe light in my living room isn’t as glamorous as it sounds. The movie is called Trial By Fire (so unoriginal) and Laura Dern was the only name I recognized on Imdb. In other news, the last movie filmed here, I, Tonya is getting a lot of buzz after a screening at the Toronto Film Festival. It might turn out to be a big deal.
And finally I got Ivana Trump’s latest book. I am only like ten pages in but I really like it already. It is non-fiction that reads like fiction. You know how you sometimes have read several chapters to get past some author’s writing style? I love Ivana’s writing style. Like I said I am just getting started but she is talking about being raised as a child in communist Czechoslovakia and it is very interesting. She is quite proud of herself, her business accomplishments and most of all her kids. Very proud. In fact the entire purpose of the book is to let us know that her kids turned out so well because of her mothering skills and Donald had very little to do with it. She says once they were adults she “gave Donald the finished product” and began to learn the family business.
I’m sure Ivana is not everyone’s cup of tea and we should probably enjoy our leisure time without having to think about the POTUS at all, I just brought it up because that is what I am reading and I was wondering what y’all were reading. I really don’t have time to read anything that is not on the Internet, but I am curious about what I might be missing.
So that’s how things are here, what’s on your mind? This is an open forum just please don’t discuss movies or TV shows in this post. I know it sounds crazy but it might spoil shows for those who haven’t watched them yet.
Ciao for now…
Edited: Because as some first time poster watching from behind the glass informed me, I’m “probably the dumbest person who has a blog” because I can never keep Ivana and Ivanka straight. And by the way, window licker, it’s a website, not a blog. But thanks for reading!
