We interrupt our current Shondaland programming for this very sad episode of Flipping Out. Where Zoila quits and it finally sticks. I’m already sad.
We start with the reading of Gema’s email where she claims that Zoila was working against Gage (and Jeff) the entire time telling her to do things that were against their wishes. Gema realizes now that it was a mistake to trust Zoila. Laura, the housekeeper, is overhearing this rendition. Against Gage’s protest, Jeff reads the email to Zoila. Apparently not only did she say that Gage is not the father, and crazy, she also told her to stop coming to work ten minutes early when she is not being paid for it. Gema also says that Zoila told her not to text Gage.
Zoila is very defensive and I believe everything in the email despite my enormous love for Zoila. It’s pretty obvious. Yet Jeff makes a huge deal out of it and has everyone vote on her guilt or innocence by secret ballot, including Laura. Jeff is laughing through all the guilty verdicts. It’s a unanimous decision.
We get a montage of all the times she’s quit. Jeff, Jenni and Meghan Weaver with the big beaver all head off to work. Jenni says doesn’t it get tiring when she keeps threatening to quit? Meghan agrees. Pipe down Meghan you don’t have a dog in this race. Jeff says he doesn’t take it seriously. The are worried about Laura being home alone with Zoila all day.
Jeff has a new client in Calabasas and we can talk about their rich people problems next week. Rich now let’s get back to Zoila.
It’s the next morning at 5:38 a.m. Can you imagine being production on this job? Sofa King early. They have no nanny and both of them are throwing toys at Monroe to try to appease her. It’s cute.
Then we got to Jenni’s house. She is giving her daughter a brand new bedroom before the new baby comes. She’s also torn down the guest house to have a beautiful pool with an amazing backyard. How did people ever have a second child without building a shrine to the first one? Seriously, it’s amazing how kids today welcome a new sibling without having to have a safe space and four therapists to help them adjust.
Jeff asks Laura if Gema called her. She says yeah, but she would prefer to discuss it later (without the cameras). Jeff presses her and she says that she told her to be careful around Zoila, she doesn’t like her. Zoila is listening and Laura tells her to come in and listen. Zoila says no. Zoila apparently said something mean about Laura to Gema and Laura’s feelings are hurt. Jeff was supposed to give her a Louis Vuitton bag and he got her a different fancy bag and Zoila said to Gema that Laura was mad she didn’t get a Louis Vuitton. Jeff tries to get Zoila to apologize to Laura and Zoila says this is her last month working for him. Jeff tells her she would rather quit than apologize, that is how stubborn she is. I agree with that.
Zoila starts packing her shit and Laura begs her not to go. She says she forgives her because she loves her and tries to get her to stay. Jeff tells her she might want to rethink what she is up to. All she has to do is apologize. Zoila says people keep trying to make her look like the bad guy. And she is done. She thanks Jeff for everything and says if she has anything of his let her know. She leaves.
Again, no one takes this seriously because she does this all the time. Then at a future lunch, Jeff asks if Zoila has texted her. She says no. She tells Jeff that at this point if Zoila comes back, she would like to leave. At that point, Gage realizes the magnitude of the destruction Zoila has been causing. Everyone agrees that Zoila is not good for the house anymore. Apparently, she walked out in the middle of feeding Monroe. Jeff says that doesn’t fly with him. Monroe is priority one.
Back to the Calabasas new construction right next door to Khloe Kardashian’s house. She must be so thrilled by the construction site next door. The contractor starts arguing about all the details of the house. Because, NOT GONNA HAPPEN GEORGE. Then Later, the new folks fire Jeff Lewis. Wow.
What I have learned watching this show is that people in California spend a shit ton of time in their cars. No wonder they want fancy ones. I just need something that runs well and gets me from point A to point B.
How the hell did Lea Black get a practically full-time role on this show? So thirsty.
Zoila meets with Jeff and Jenni and he asks what is wrong with her, is she tired? What is going on? She says she is done. She just can’t do it anymore. She is tired. She can’t do it anymore. Jeff suggest she just work the weekends when no one else is in the house. She says, “Thank you so much, but no.”
Jeff says he gets it and she has been wanting to retire for years and she stayed for the baby. Jeff thanks her for taking care of the baby for six months. Jeff cries as Zoila goes off in her Mercedes SUV that he paid for. Jenni does too. I sort of found the whole thing anti-climatic.
Next week is the season finale.
