I don’t have much real time news on Golnesa and her marriage since last week; however, GG is in Sydney, Australia with Sherv at the moment doing several meet and greets and hosting a 30th birthday party for some Iranian chick in Sydney with enough money to fly them both to her party. Nice work if you can get it.
Everyone except Asa is in NYC headed out for some holiday ice skating. Reza suddenly remembers that Asa is his friend so he has a producer orchestrated phone call with her. The point of the call is to invite Asa to their next All Shoot, a Snowflake Ball back in LA to celebrate friends and family. I’m wondering why they could just be nice to Asa instead. Asa says she just simply has no energy left at this point in her pregnancy and is having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions. Of course the entire group of non breeders sees this as Asa dodging them because she doesn’t want to be interrogated about her pregnancy. What part of leave the pregnant woman alone do these fools not understand?
After Shalom laces up GG’s skates, everyone except Mike hits the ice. MJ and GG are the only two who can skate and talk at the same time. So they talk about Mike and Jessica and how they want them to get them together. Adam manages to do a lap without falling instead.
Back in LA, Asa is miserable. She has terrible leg cramps and has problems getting out of the car and into her doctor’s appointment. Asa is on antibiotics for something. Her mother is saying that Asa does not rest. Her doctor advises her to take it easy, avoid her friends who are being more aggravating than supportive. Focus on herself and her baby. She basically got a doctor’s excuse not to film with the assholes. They do sonogram and it is definitely a boy!
I just now realized that Shervin was not on this trip either. Why aren’t they mad at him? GG and Shalom call him to tell him they are engaged. He is so kind about the engagement and wishes GG lots of luck for her upcoming performance.
It’s the next morning, everyone harasses Mike for staying out all night the night before. For reasons that escape me as an adult, GG decides to sniff the underwear Mike wore out the night before. I’m officially nauseous, for real. I have a very weak stomach. They ask him if he was with Jessica and he says nothing so they assume that the was. Jessica has made it clear on Instagram that she was not in NYC when the Shahs were.
GG also says that she knows for sure that Mike and Jessica still have something going on because she noticed on Mike’s IG all of the photos of a new puppie or two that Mike got. And she focused in on one particular photo where you can see a girl she says is Jessica. I say it could be anyone.
Before the gang heads out to Queens to visit Tommy’s family, GG, MJ and Reza have a ridiculous conversation about Jessica wanting to get back with Mike, and Mike wanting that to happen but being afraid to try because Mike’s mother wants nothing to do with Jessica. This is nonsensical because Mike is the one who could not keep his dool in his pants during his marriage. Jessica is the one who converted to Judaism to please the family and spent extensive amounts of time with Mike’s mother learning how to cook Iranian food and basically made her entire life about being the perfect wife for Mike. All of this is made up fucking horseshit.
I love seeing Manhattan during Christmas. Then we get to Queens, that I was also looking forward to seeing and the assholes start making fun of the place because there is tons of street art and mixed neighborhoods. GG and Shalom didn’t go because Shalom is flying back to LA early. Perhaps he needs to get back to work but the script indicates he is leaving because he is not willing to go to the play and support GG because there is a scene where she kisses a gay guy. For one, it is an acting job, and for two, the whole beauty of having hot gay guy friends is that you can be a bit affectionate without either party thinking it is a thing. Because it is so not a thing. Well, not the whole beauty of hot gay guy friends, but it’s one of many perks.
The rest of the gang arrives at Bridie’s which took me ten forevers to spell because I want to call it Birdie’s, but it is not. It’s a bar in Queens though and it looks like fun! We are not meeting Tommy’s family, we are meeting his hard core group of friends who have gotten him through the loss both of his parents. Hell, I want to marry Tommy now. After Tommy’s mother died, he emancipated himself and moved in with the McGuire family. Oh God, am I going to need tissues for this? The entire McGuire family is there. Shots of Jameson for all. Reza wisely orders pretty much everything on the menu. Why not? Bravo is paying and hopefully he will feed it to MJ so she doesn’t embarrass Tommy in front of he adopted family. Then again, it seems that everything goes with this crew and MJ fits right in. That makes me happy. MJ and Tommy stand on the bar and MJ gives a sweet toast to the family and all the unconditional love she gets from them. Tommy gives a sweet toast. It was very touching. This was the best scene in Shah’s history.
Back in LA, Destiney has opened some sort of a juice bar. Sherv arrives to support her. Then Destiney drags him out onto the sidewalk and lectures him for his “cheating.” So Sherv breaks up with his beard via video chat at night on the side of the road. #DramaticEditing
Also in LA Asa does some late night baby clothes shopping with Latoya where they talk about friendships and what it is like being a part of the Jackson family. Asa’s baby is big, and her doctor told her to forget about newborn sizes. It’s going to take more than that to contain the golden dool. Asa tells Latoya that People wanted to do a spread about her and Jermaine and the baby and he was not having it. Laytoya says that the entire family is very shy and likes to keep things private. Asa gives a dramatic explanation about how she new in high school that Jermaine was going to be the one and then a year later they ran into each other at an iPhone store and they spent 18 hours listening to music and there was a white fox on the PCH, and it was all magical and meant to be. I wish I had the same um, ability to believe in things? that Asa does.
MJ decided to stay with Tommy and his family in Queens which leaves Mike, Reza and Adam to be the delegation going to GG’s play. Shalom suddenly appears at the last moment to make it a foursome. That’s weird. They conveniently have four front row seats. I should admit that I have been in a play before at this point. Because the thing is we write our own bios for the program. GG put in hers that she trained as a gymnast to be in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. I think mine said I was excited to make my debut at the theater where I performed my one whole line. It was in fact a good line that got me a nomination for best random cast member or something. It was in college, before THE CRAZY came. Um, my play was better. GG did fine with the role that she had. It was a comedy show full of schtick.
Everyone is proud of GG. Shalom was not even upset about the slapstick kiss. GG is super happy and everything is just perfect.
Next week, GG goes right back to being a bitch, Asa still feels disconnected to the group, Reza and Adam have too many cats and Reza feels like he is the only one compromising and Mike feels like everyone is meddling in his non-relationship with Jessica.
