It’s apparently a great week to announce a breakup. I blame the solar eclipse. I know I have been a hot mess since then, but it was probably the day drinking. I am either madly in love with my new and old friends or being a giant cunt. There is no in between and apparently no one is immune.
I’ve reported on a reality show couple’s impending divorce, and the end of a Married at First Sight marriage in the past 24 hours. I am bizarrely upset about this because I am upset about everything. If you follow me on Twitter, you will see the meltdowns are worse and more frequent than usual. I’m just very pessimistic about the world these days. Even things that would be trivial like yet another couple from the Bachelor not working out seems off. Fruit flies in the kitchen make me cry.

So it is from a place of my very hot mess of a personal life, that I thought maybe you might care about this story.
The couple announced to E! today, “It’s with a great amount of heartbreak for the both us as we have decided to end our engagement. We gave this relationship our all and we are saddened that we did not get the fairy tale ending we hoped for. We will continue to be there for each other no matter what. This hasn’t been an easy decision; however, as we part ways, we do so with lots of love and admiration for each other.” I’m even annoyed that I had to put the semi-colon in the right place on the quote, and I can barely spell “cat” these days. I’m also worried for my Texan friends.
For the record, I think Nick and Corrine are made for each other. Perhaps he reached out to her and that is what caused the split? I remain hopeful that love can work out, even for people like Nick and Corrine.
No surprise. No angst from this poster.
I would love for Nick and Corinne to get together and to never hear about them again but live and even heavier farm animals would soar like eagles before my wish could be granted.
But the week isn’t a total loss. Mark and Elena are together again at the BB jury house..
Well color me shocked! The number of couples that make it down the aisle with the person that they chose on the show is abysmal. These shows have been on for about 13 years. Most used to break up by the time the finale aired. I think that now ABC enticed them to stick it out at least a year and then they get to keep the ring.
“We will continue to be there for each other no matter what”. What a bullshit breakup statement.
