Former Orange County Housewife, Lynne Curtin’s Daughter Wins $2.25 Million In Law Suit

Lynne Curtain and her husband on RHOOC

Lynne Curtin’s daughters have not had a very smooth path in life since Lynne left the show in 2010. Alexa has had numerous run-ins with the law that are still ongoing.  This past May she violated her parole and was sentenced to a few days in jail. I believe that was a shoplifting charge. Her grandmother has accused her of elder abuse. I am not sure if that case has even been heard yet. She is on probation until 2019.

Also, Alexa has done a few pornos and tried to keep that information out of her three-year civil lawsuits against an Orange County Sheriff Deputy who she accused of rape. Yesterday, a jury determined that the police department was partially at fault for the rape because they kept him on the force even though there were prior cases where women had claimed he had sexually assaulted them.

The OC Register reports:

Alexa Curtin’s lawsuit alleged that in April 2014, sheriff’s deputies came to the home of Curtin’s then-boyfriend after the couple got into an argument. According to the lawsuit, Caropino drove Curtin to her car, which was parked nearby. Once there, the deputy made inappropriate comments about her underwear, which he found in her car, and ordered her to stay put. She alleged he then returned to the scene, in his vehicle and out of uniform, got into the passenger seat of her car, and raped her. Curtin was 22 at the time.

The jury found that the county was liable because of a sheriff’s department policy that allowed former deputy Nicholas Lee Caropino to stay on patrol duty, and remain in contact with the public, even as he was under criminal investigation for the first sexual assault allegation.

Alexa had asked for $40 million. While I am happy that the county was held accountable for their horrific policy regarding sexual assault complaints, I am worried for Alexa.  Winning the lottery ruins the lives of a lot of people who get a lot of money and don’t know how to handle it. It doesn’t seem like Alexa has much of  track record for making wise decisions. Her parents were evicted from their home on the show. There was a noticeable lack of parenting of Alexa and her sister.

I hate to say it, but I do not think this will end well for her. I hope for the best for her. But I am not optimistic.

Is she the older or younger one? Is she the one with baby?

Alexa is the younger one. Raquel is the oldest with the baby.

Yikes! I feel sorry for Lynn, this sounds like a blessing, but I am sure will mean trouble. Even if your daughter was the most level headed, down to earth, responsible girl on the planet, that amount of money would turn anyone’s head around. Let’s hope Alexa allows her parents to give her some kind of guidance, like a money manager at least. As long as it’s not one of them, lol!

I don’t think the parents are the most ideal money managers… but I do hope she puts it into a trust for herself.

Her parents will probably grift most of it away from her in a year or 2.

Exactly my first, last, and only thought when I saw this post. (How fast before they “have an investment” for her) ugh.

I miss the good old days when the OC had all those crazy teenagers on it.

Wow, not a good way to get money, that alone would mess up someone’s psyche. That family has been through the wringer, wishing them a better tomorrow.

That’s not a lot of money in the OC. She will most likely blow it in a year. I’m guessing she might have some substance abuse problems too. Poor kids! They never had a chance with those parents.

The whole story is awful. It must have been so scary, and having trouble with the law, even harder to hang in there. Glad she won, sorry it happened, hope she heals, and as I said above, let’s hope her greedy parents stay away.

Sadly I agree — I don’t see this ending well. She is a beautiful girl but before the $ she seemed to be on a bad path. The $ will probably just sped her up to decline. I hope I’m wrong and she gets her sh!t together.

She won’t see that money. If it goes to appeals, which is probably will, any money left if the judgment is not reduced will go to pay her lawyers. She will be lucky to walk away with 100 grand. That is sad story though and OC should pay a hell of a lot more if they knew this guy was a rapist and let him stay on the force.

T, I wouldn’t be surprised if the family has lived from one lawsuit to the next since their eviction on RHOC. Something was very wrong in that family; probably a lot of things wrong in the family unit.
I don’t think they’ve lived this long on the income from Lynn’s jewelry and belt business.

I was surprised Lynn divorced her husband, and I’ve wondered what became of her. She didn’t seem very smart or able to take care of herself, and not very helpful about their financial situation. She wanted to live in a dream world and not be an active partner. I actually felt sorry for Frank because they all had their hands out for stuff all the time, and were mad when he just didn’t have it to give anymore. I hope the daughter will be ok after this horrible experience. I’m glad she won.

If I’m correct (if her situation hasn’t changed), Lynne is selling the items she sold when she was on the show and has expanded her line a bit but she is not well off by any means. She at least works the hours she chooses, I think she may still be renting a small apartment. I fear for her daughters though. She and her hubby were far too hands off with them and that is why they act the way they do.

I agree! This girl has little common sense or a sense of self or general respect which is she keeps getting into trouble with the law. Folks like her blow through large sums of windfalls and often end up worse than they were before. I am a realist but I can only hope that somehow she doesn’t go off the deep end.

When I think of that girl, I think about how she hurt that her sister and mom got surgery together, she kept telling her parents how she felt, and Lynn kept saying it was exaggerated.
I remember her outside the party trying to drink, and her parents ignoring her tantrums. She seemed to be screaming out for something. Never forgot her.

First off,i think Alexa should seek some therapy or a professional to help her cope with the horrific assault! We are taught to trust these “peace officer” who are suppose to protect us and what a horrible injustic and betrayal when theirs a bad apple who thinks they are above the law! I believe some of you are under minding Alexa ,she was smart enough to seek counsel , and if you (Alexa)are reading this seek our heavenly Father,he will not forsake you Baby girl…..
