Cody and Danielle
We left these two standing on a bridge over the river. Cody is upset and Danielle has no idea what his deal is. Apparently, his grandmother is dying. The hold hands and he pets her hand with his thumb. Danielle, your husband is crying over a death in the family. Can you not muster up a hug? Later Danielle takes Cody shopping for a plant for her gram’s hospice room.
This has been my least favorite relationship simply because they don’t seem as well matched as the other two couples. But now I see them as the most genuine. The go out for deep dish pizza with Cody’s brother and Danielle’s best friend who have been dating since the wedding. Are you a fan of deep dish or New York style pizza? I will be secretly judging you on your answer. Coincidentally, I am thawing out some pizza dough that I bought at Whole Foods in the refrigerated section as I type this. I am not sure if it will be usable after freezing. It’s an experiment. Back at the pizza joint, Cody chews with his mouth open. I’ve said many times this is a deal breaker for me. It’s awkward and Danielle hates talking about the elephant in the room, “Why won’t she sleep with him?”
Anthony and Ashley
We begin with these two talking about cornhole. Except we are not really talking about cornhole we are talking about Ashley being obsessed with how she looks to other on this TV show. If you are consumed with your appearances, your relationship doesn’t have a chance. Now I don’t believe any of her comments about how wonderful and perfect Anthony is for her. We hear of lot of that sort of talk when Ashley’s parents come to dinner.
Nate and Sheila
Last week we found out that Sheila is refusing to film any marital issues leaving us with tape of her being a bitch for what appears to be no reason. On the surface it appears that Nate saying that he considered moving in to a garage apartment a while back simply enrages Sheila. I just don’t get it. Sheila is mean when she gets pissed and won’t tell Nate why she is pissed, she just belittles him. Nate lets us know that they resolved the issue off camera and we see film of them walking the dog, and the brother as one big happy family. Nothing to see here. Later in the gym, the relationship seems to be crumbling.
The Group Brunch
In a new twist, the three couples go out to brunch to provide a bit of a support system for each other. It is three weeks until decision day. Everyone seems a bit nervous about the situation. Danielle immediately realizes the other two guys are the assertive male she was wanting and she’s pissed. Nate sees that Anthony is dealing with some of the same issues he is. Sheila speaks negatively about Nate’s mother and calls him a mama’s boy. Ashley brings up that she has mixed feelings taking Anthony’s last name. If that were not enough, Sheila chimes in to say that she took Nate’s last name to show him she is all in and committed. The guys are taking hits left and right. The more Ashley talks about the last name issue the more irritated Anthony becomes.
Wow, Sheila admits that she is a mean fighter. I didn’t see that coming. Danielle basically said she would take passion anywhere she can get it a this point and that Cody is super polite. So Cody drops the bomb about their relationship. They haven’t had sex. The group splits up so the wives can talk away from their husbands and vice versa. Both groups conversations focus on Cody and Danielle. It seems grim for these two.
Next week: Cody seems ready to ditch the whole thing and find someone to sleep with. Sheila has another hateful outburst against Nate for something he said about her while playing basketball that leaves her screaming for divorce. We see her storming out of the apartment later with her things while Nate is sobbing with bloodshot eyes.
Second Chances Finale
Well that was an ending I never saw coming. David sent home both women and went home alone. Tara was perfect for him but he is not attracted to women who are attracted to him. He actually prefers trying to change women’s minds about him. He pursues women who treat him badly. There is going to be a reunion for the first time ever and all the women come back and tell him that he is a fake piece of garbage. He says he was only in love with one woman the entire time. I would like to point out that the times we saw him tell Tara and others that he loved them, it was an obvious frankenbite. We never saw his lips moving and the same “I love you.” was piped in many times. David storms off the stage in true housewife diva fashion next week.
Vanessa is a bitch. When she dumped the funny guy he responded with agreement saying things should have been a lot more pleasant in the beginning. As he is trying to express his feelings, she is trying to shut him down so he can’t say anything negative about her. The poor blonde dude needs to notice that her eyes were totally on the ring and not on him during the proposal. He needs to run. He needs to run far and fast. If he chopped off his Goldilocks she would probably never find him.
Were you shocked by David’s decision? Will any of the new couples make it?
