I’ve got the Monday blahs which may be why there seems like there is nothing good to share with you guys today. I’ve totally run out of reasons to avoid this recap. So here we go.
The episode starts with a weird montage that give the appearance that all of the couples, even Danielle and Cody are happy as two bugs in a rug.
Anthony and Ashley
When last we saw these two, Ashley had left their Labor Day party without telling anyone to deal with work issues. Anthony tracks her down in a grocery store and brings her back to the party.
Anthony takes Ashley to Michigan to see where he grew up. In the car, Anthony found out that Ashley was ready to have a child on her own if she didn’t marry soon. Ashley and Anthony’s mom really hit it off. Ashley has an obsession with Anthony’s teeth. She talks about how perfect they are on every episode. At family dinner it comes out that he had all of his teeth knocked out in a soccer match and spent $30,000 to get them restored. No wonder they are so perfect!
Well now, isn’t this interesting. Anthony has an overly opinionated sister of his own.
Nate and Sheila
Nate and Sheila are still bickering about Sheila’s male BFF. Sheila is pissed that this argument is being filmed. Oh hey! that is what you signed up for. Both of them seem very concerned about looking good on camera. The next day, we see Sheila furiously folding a huge amount of towels.
Nate takes Sheila on a trip to his home town of Flint, Michigan to spend time with his mother. The mood with the newly formed family of three seems very tense in the car ride. The first stop is Nate’s grandparents. They are awesome. Still in love after fifty-two years of marriage.
The next day they go to hang out with one of Nate’s former coaches. It’s unclear where they are staying on this little trip. The coach was very supportive and told Sheila that it took a long time for his mom to accept him in Nate’s life as well. Off they got to Nate’s mama’s house. She’s already upset that they have been staying in a hotel. I have a feeling the actually went to see her first, and dropped the brother off.
Cody and Danielle
Cody and Danielle go to a bonfire and don’t bring their own beer. Cody is jealous that all the other couples there are having sex. Neither of them have many positive things to say about married life.
Danielle realizes that she has been comparing Cody to her past relationships, which is unfair. So she takes him on a trip to a park where she spent a lot of time with her ex. Because that makes total sense.
Have we met any of Danielle’s family? I do remember one girlfriend. But it seems odd that she is not introducing him to any important people in her life on this trip. Instead, she is going to a park to talk about her ex-boyfriend. There was a flag flying at half mast at the park. I presume in morning of their dead relationship. Later, Danielle writes a goodbye letter to her past. After burning the letter in the fire, she makes a fire and sets up a romantic environment for Cody when he gets home from work. He brought her a bouquet of roses. Things are going great. And then Danielle starts talking about past boyfriends again.
Next Week: Things off of the rails for Nate and Shelia. Cody seems very distraught about something and Ashley has a hissy fit because she sucks at corn hole.
On second chances, Cody continues to pursue Melika who clearly does not want to be the last one standing and just wanted to be on the show. And I really hope that Vanessa chooses Miles, even though Miles might be dodging a bullet if she doesn’t. I think Miles is awesome.
Thanks TT I didn’t want to watch it and your recap made things better. Love you.
Malik’s has done everything but hold up a sign that says: SEND ME HOME, PLEASE!
I meant Malika…
Dang, Melika…
WHY is David so into Melika? To me she is robotic, and her voice is annoying. And she clearly is not into him. She turns her head to avoid kissing him as much as she can. Isabella is sweet, but too young for him. She’s in a different life place that he is–she’s not ready for kids and wants to live abroad. Tara is the only reasonable choice–but my opinion of David has really dropped over the course of the season. So maybe Tara should run.
I don’t think any of Vanessa’s final three are right for her.
Mainly, I hate the format of this show. The group dates are beyond awkward and unnatural and are not at all conducive to getting to know the person as you should. And there were too many group dates–until now all of a sudden D and V are supposed to live for a week with two different people! We went from not knowing well enough to pushing them too much. Format is awful. I guess it’s like The Bachelor, which I’ve never watched.
Danielle is not into Cody, and I fault the “experts.” Danielle keeps saying how she wants a manly guy, and Cody is not that. Why did they match them?? And, like Tamara, I find it odd that we didn’t meet any of Danielle’s family or friends this week–just the park–red flag!
I don’t want Ashley to mess things up with Anthony! He’s a good guy!
The Cody and Danielle match was the worst one this season. He’s too young for her. And they really don’t have anything in common except he owns a gym and she’s a nutritionist. Sheila and Nate and Anthony and Ashley are probably the best matches since the first season.
David already got rid of the best match for him…Jordan. The ‘experts’ picked What’s Her Name for him instead of Jordan. Had they went with Jordan, I think they would still be together. He’s just as gossipy as some of these girls. Asking them who is saying what about him or the other girls. The format of the show already puts them in a bad position. I really thought he was going to give Maya another chance. He wanted to so bad. I think his mom talked him out of it. Out of the ones who are left, Tara would be the best one for him. But now I’m not so sure that she deserves to be stuck with David.
As for Vanessa, I think Miles is her best match. She really wasn’t given a good variety of 25 guys from the start though. Miles is the type of guy that Vanessa needs.
David is not physically attracted to Tara, if he was he would have treated her entirely different. It is unfortunate because I also think they are the best match from the remaining group.
But if the chemistry is not there, then there is really no hope.
I’m so thrilled they called Sheila out to the viewers regarding “looking good on camera” Do these idiots not know they are on TV. (Only idiots since they know exactly what they signed up for). Some actual reactions may be nice. Especially to their spouses. Thanks for the great recap TT.
I totally get that, but I can understand where Sheila is coming from. I don’t think it was a vanity thing more than it was trying to keep any mistakes they make from getting slammed with social media backlash. It’s all part of what you sign up for, but if these people are really serious about this relationship, they would want some things private for themselves.
Love love Miles!
