Michael Wainstein Is Facing Contempt of Court Charges, May Get Jail Time

June 9, 2017 by tamaratattles 29 Comments

Jules and Michael Wainstein’s divorce proceedings continue to be a hot mess. In the latest Page Six story, it appears that they were back in court yesterday because Michael in not paying the child support, rent, and utilities he was ordered to by the court. On more that one occasion, the power bill has not been paid in the marital home where Jules lives with the boys and the electricity has been cut off.

On RHONY we saw Michael go to work everyday at his business that was located in the same building they lived in. However, he tells the judge that he is not making money and his parents are supporting him.

In court yesterday, the judge was fed up that Michael had not paid the $135,000 he owes Jules despite two opportunities to do so. It is not clear of that amount includes the $50,000.  So the judge set up a contempt of court hearing for next month. If things are not settled in the meantime, he will likely go to jail.

Jules attorney is asking for permission to sell the apartment that is in Jules name in order to liquidate assets to support her family. Jules has testified that she only made $60,000 for her RHONY season.

In other news, because of the lack of payment to the kids school, it is reported that they have been asked no to return next year.

Michael has been spending tons of money he claims belongs to his mother on things like private planes to Florida, lavish dinner parties for friends and other luxuries while his wife and children are living with no power in the house.

Jules says that he is simply hiding money during the divorce proceedings and lying about his lack of ability to pay.

The judge told Michael,“It is my observation that when it’s important for your client to come up with the money he’s able to come up with it. You say it’s from his parents but his parents give him money for the things that are important to him. He hasn’t demonstrated that complying with my orders is important to him.” The judge went on to strongly advise Michael to come well prepared for the contempt hearing next month.

It’s unclear if he is still with the mistress.

I hope he goes to jail! What a loser. There are two sides to every story, but it really seems clear here that’s he’s crapped all over Jules, crapped all over his kids, and tried to crap all over the judge.

Maybe it’s little man syndrome. Bethenny got dragged for referring to his midget stature, didn’t she?

He is such a douchenozzle! I am sure the little midget will be popular in jail. I just hope Jules can collect the money she is due. The MAIL is a piece of work too, not helping her grandkids.

I think they are both more interested in getting as much money as possible out of the marriage and don’t give a big fat flip as to how it affects the children. They are both scummy.

What I don’t understand are the grandparents. If what he says is true – I certainly wouldn’t be paying for my son’s vacation. I WOULD be paying the power bill directly with the power company. I’d probably try to pick up the bill for the school as well. I WOULD be tempted to send my son a bill for that, and cc’ing the judge. (or if I was that wealthy, letting my kid know it was coming out of his inheritance). If it wasn’t true, wouldn’t they eventually have to testify that they were supporting their son? Or, would they be at risk of fraud, helping him hide assets?

I hope the judge has the power to make sure that he doesn’t actually see any of the $ from the sale of the apartment, community property state or not. (Or at least his half goes into a trust account or something).

Ugh. Total dirtbag. I love Jules. I think she’s a kind soul and really does want the best for her children. I think he definitely needs to pay-up to help support their kids.

I can understand not wanting to give an ex wife anything , but why make your kids suffer? Those children will never deal with him when they’re adults .

Perhaps if it was the wife that was the one cheating or if she had done something truly awful. Jules did nothing but take care of his kids and bring in her own money.

What does this douche supposedly DO? Does anyone know? He also rented HER apartment without telling her and didn’t pay the HOA stuff that he was telling her was taken care of while they were married.

He works in private equity and had been president of his company for 15+ years, so the idea that he hasn’t got millions stashed away is pretty absurd. Judges must get really sick of these guys coming in front of them, hiding their cash and trying to cripple ex-wives.

Thanks. I figured he had to make money to be living there in the first place. He threw an expensive birthday party for one of the boys recently, and he can’t afford to at least keep the power on? Also Jules had to call the cops on him a couple of times because he’s aggressive.

Where is his family from that they would have dual citizenship. I can’t see anyone leaving their parents and their children over a couple hundred thousand dollars toward their child’s well being. Or their business that took so long to build.

Here is their wedding announcement from 2008. Jules was working for a nonprofit. A nice Jewish girl.

Julianne Himiko Forrest, the daughter of Kazue Forrest and Gene Forrest of Delray Beach, Fla., was married on Thursday at the New York City Municipal Building to Michael Wainstein, a son of Fanny Wainstein and Dr. Sasha Wainstein of Hewlett Bay Park, N.Y. Blanca Martinez, a staff member of the City Clerk’s Office, officiated.

The couple is to have a religious ceremony on March 9 at Punta Cana, a resort in the Dominican Republic, where Cantor Oisiki Ghitis is to officiate.

Mrs. Wainstein, 27, is an event planner for the Women’s International Zionist Organization, which raises money for private schools and programs for women and the elderly in Israel. She works in Manhattan.

Her father, who is retired, was a vice president for international manufacturing with Crystal Brands, an apparel company in Bristol, Conn.

Mr. Wainstein, 36, is a principal of the Private Capital Group, a merchant bank in Manhattan. He graduated from New York University and received a law degree from New York Law School.

His father is a urologist with Urologic Surgical Associates in Brooklyn. The bridegroom’s mother is an administrator in his office.

Wowsers. I think he was never invested in the marriage or his children, that is what I saw from the beginning. He never showed he cared about his kids, who lets their kids go to bed in their clothes, I know he did that one episode, that clued me in that he could give a shit less about the lot of them.

So completely gross that he 1) thinks it’s ok to stiff his family and 2) thinks it’s acceptable to blow his “parents’ money” on lavish nonsense for himself while his kids go without. Pathetic excuse for a man.

I will never understand the men who go scorched earth on their wives when they are the ones who cheated and left the marriage. It seems like it would be easy to just pay the bill so that everyone can move on.
