Phaedra Parks sold a story to US Magazine published today where she talks about the divorce. Everything she says about the divorce is full of misinformation, as we have grown to expect from Phaedra. I scanned through the story and decided it wasn’t worth posting about as I already have more accurate versions of the divorce posted here. Phaedra claims that there was no intention to mislead Apollo and she is back to square one in the divorce process.
But then I read this paragraph in the US story
Nida typically can make outgoing calls to his sons from prison, and “when he calls, obviously we answer,” Parks says. But Parks explains that Nida has been unable to call or receive visitors as of late because he is in solitary confinement. When he is out of solitary confinement, Parks acknowledges that it’s a “possibility” she could take her sons to see their dad, though whether that actually happens — Nida has previously complained that Parks doesn’t regularly bring their sons to visit him — is to be determined.
What does “as of late” mean? At the beginning of April there were two stories going around about Apollo. In one, he was fraudulently using credit cards WHILE INCARCERATED FOR THAT EXACT THING and put in the maximum security unit (solitary confinement). In another he was found with a cell phone and thrown into maximum security. In a third version he was using a smuggled cell phone to commit the credit card fraud. There was no credible source for any of these stories. I recognize that Phaedra is not a credible source either, but I am starting to believe that Apollo is in solitary because his side piece hasn’t mentioned visiting him lately, but has been in Atlanta filming Say Yes To The Dress. If Apollo is in maximum security now, that would likely push back his release date. I cannot find any information on this because if you google anything with the words solitary confinement you get hundreds of pages of results about how solitary confinement causes and exacerbates mental illness and increases the likelihood of recidivism.
In other news from this interview, since Phaedra is free from her RHOA obligations this summer after being fired from the show shortly after the reunion filmed, she is free to travel with her boys.
“I’m actually going to take the boys with me to camp in Michigan because I want them to just see how other people live, and I want them to be able to appreciate overnight camp as well,” she tells Us. “We’ll camp out for a week with the Flint campers.”
On top of that, Parks divulges she’ll take the boys to Italy “for about a week […] we’ll go to Utah this summer to visit some national parks there, and we’re going to go see the Grand Canyon and we’ll go to Florida as well.”
I do not believe that Phaedra will spend weeks with her children on vacation, but I will certainly be on the look out for all of these trips. For now her social media is focused on her political aspirations and an odd obsession with Nick Minaj.
