This week I think I will rate each couples chance of staying married as I see it each week.
Danielle and Cody (15% chance)
Danielle and Cody don’t sleep on the right side of the bed either. Then again, if the killer comes, Danielle would be better off confronting them herself while Cody hides under the bed.
Danielle’s dogs really need training. Cody wants to do it, but he is afraid to bring it up to Danielle. Dr. Pepper is so useless with this couple.
For their family dinner, this couple ordered in pizza. Both sets of parents are there along with other random people. Cody’s brother is there with Angie, the bridesmaid he met at the wedding. Cody shares that his brother is having sex and he isn’t. Why doesn’t he do anything about that? Angie grills Cody and is not optimistic. After the family dinner, the plan is for Danielle and Angie to go out, and Cody and his brother to go out and then all meet up later. This seems like production’s plan. However, Danielle find Cody laying on the couch. He says he missed his train so he’s just going to skip it. Danielle wonders if she has done something wrong.
Ashley and Anthony (60%)
Ashley is one of those women who doesn’t want to take her husband’s last name. Ashley needs to stop trying to wear the pants in the family. She is one of the girls that wants the guy to take charge, but only if she doesn’t want to. And she’s bossy.
Ashley’s sister Lauren and I guess her boyfriend come over. I’m shocked Lauren has a boyfriend you would think she would be less involved in Ashley’s marriage if were in a relationship. There is also a kid there. Is she married? If so, Anthony should pull the husband aside and asks how he feels about the sisters being conjoined twins.
Later the couple goes to a BBQ at Ashley’s parents house. Lauren starts talking about Ashley and Anthony moving into their building. Anthony is irked by Lauren once again.
Sheila and Nate (70%)
Sheila, the man is supposed to sleep closest to the door and on the right side of the bed. The bed must be positioned in such a way that the right side of the bed is closest to the door. The bed is in the proper position and you must sleep on the left side. The reason for this is so that when the killer comes you are behind your man and he will either save you or you can escape while he is getting killed. How do people not know this? The sides have been predetermined for centuries. You don’t just get to pick. This was a battle Nate needed to fight, but it appears he caved. Ah! he reclaimed it when she got up to turn off the lights. Nate would have been the one to turn off the lights had she followed the rules. BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSEST TO THE DOOR.
Sheila has the stomach flu so Nate and Tyrique clean the kitchen while she gets some rest. Sheila is very happy that Nate is attentive to her when she isn’t feeling well.
Dr. Pepper talks to Sheila about her parents. There was a huge blowout due to the limited number of invitations. Her sister’s boyfriend was not invited, so she didn’t come. Wow. That’s kind of a big deal.
Sheila’s parents come over for dinner. The topic of the wedding invitations comes up and Sheila’s dad and Sheila get into an argument. It turns into a minor, but mostly respectful argument between Nate and Sheila’s father.
Next week: The keep sort of teasing us that Ashley is pregnant. What if she is pregnant with someone else’s kid? They have only been married for 15 days. Then again, Anthony tells his friend next week they have been having a lot of sex since they got married.
Sheila’s dad was doing way to much even the other men attending had to turn around and see why he was so riled up. Cody’s whole mood changed but I’m hoping they make it I really like them as a couple.
It’s a good day when we all understand how editing and frankenbites work. Can almost guarantee the shocked looks from the living room had nothing to do with the convo. C’mon people, they used the exact same shot repeatedly. It’s like when you all were cringing about Lauren telling Ben she missed him 3 times on Below deck…… hurts my heart- were smarter than that- she absolutely didn’t repeat it. It was so obviously edited!!! C’mon my people!!!! She said “I miss [email protected], once and he responded “me too baby!”. We, at this blog are better than this!
Not all of us dude. Not all of us.
Thanks TT, great recap. I thought everyone on the planet knew the killer gets him first. I’m wondering if Sheila was pmsing on the honeymoon, they sure worked things out quick, which is good, but seems like she was having a moment to breakdown. Danielle is not going to do anything I predict but complain and expect mind reading. Too bad, maid of honor and brother and all.
Well, now this explains my marriage only lasting 13 years. I always slept closer to the door.
There were other reasons I left, so I thought.
yeah, noe. It was just that. But the guy is supposed to KNOW why he sleeps closer to the door. And I forget why the woman sleeps on the left but there is a reason for that too. Also when walking as a couple the guy walks on the street side. Le sigh. Now we call things like this traditional gender roles. #sad
Thank you for recapping! We have had some unexpected expenses and had to get rid of cable, so your recaps are keeping me up to date on all my favorite shows.
I’m really hoping that Sheila and Nate make it. I think that they are the best match since season one.
I agree about Nate and Sheila. And I think it is fantastic that you get how much money you save cancelling cable. And I am envious that your entire life no longer revolves around the TV. When I power goes out I am amazed at all I get done.
It’s crazy how productive I’ve been! My cabinets have never been more organized.
I’m sure I could find a way to watch some of these shows- on the network’s website or something- but I’m enjoying the quiet time for now.
Fucking assholes. I’ve been sleeping on the wrong side of the bed all my life. Can I sue for exposure to danger?
Noe. You have just been sleeping with the wrong people
Danielle must have surely expressed to the counselors/producers that she desired a strong, masculine man who would take the lead, and they give her Cody? Either he’s getting a super bad edit, or the fix is in.
Dr Pepper just keeps telling her to lower her standards. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP.
Have they addressed or considered his large weight loss and how that plays into anything, if at all? Maybe he is just a little self conscious or ??
Ashley sister is married and has 2 kids which makes it even more odd that she wants to be with her sis all the time.
I just kept ignoring the guy and the kids thinking they must be other random family members. She acts like her sister is HER PERSON. And while we all have our own interpretation of that, if you are married, it should probably be your husband.
Danielle/Cody: I don’t see their marriage lasting very long. They just don’t communicate. Cody could’ve said, hey your dogs are all over the place, let me help you. But he was over thinking it. Danielle could’ve asked Cody about missing the train and not going into the city, but she just complained and talked behind his back. *Side Note* It sucks to the miss the train into Chicago. Trying to drive in the city takes forever, the parking sucks and then you dread the drive home. I loved the fact they ordered Giordiano’s pizza for the family dinner. I just ordered a frozen two pack for myself and this baby in my belly.
A/A: I think they are so cute together. Ashley is over thinking taking his last name. Most of the people I know getting married are hyphenating their name or they make their maiden name their middle name. Ashley’s sister!! Ashley’s sister Lauren is coming off as overbearing. You would think since she is married with two kids, she wouldn’t have time to be in Ashley’s marriage. Hopefully it’s just bad editing.
Nate/Sheila: TT I was the thinking the same thing, who doesn’t know the guy sleeps by the door!! Come on! I’m over production playing the clip of Sheila crying during her honeymoon, STOP IT. Was anyone else alarmed when Nate insisted they look at a house that was way over budget? I wonder what his finances look like? I think Sheila did a great job of reminding him of their budget. This week I think Nate did a great job of backing his wife’s feelings during the argument with Sheila’s father. I think Sheila’s sister was wrong for making Sheila’s wedding about her. Sheila’s dad was wrong to even argue the sister’s crazy selfish perspective. Sheila could only invite 25 people to the wedding, why did Sheila’s sister/family think the brand new boyfriend would make the guest list??
The last name crisis is particularly odd for a woman that wants to have kids. Does she want them to have her last name too? That is not how it works. As you said, dropping your middle name or just adding another one the end (enough with the hyphens) works fine. But you are supposed to star your own family, and families share the same last name unless they are blended. Does she want to have a different last name than her children? I find Ashley rather obnoxious.
I agree with you TT.
