At some point, Phil Andros managed to slip through his chains and escape the radiator. I mean really? HE HAD ONE JOB. But I didn’t send out the bloodhounds because frankly, the show has been dying a slow death for so long I stopped making it a priority to watch the show.
Even tonight when I normally would be busy recapping 60 Days In a show you fucktards should all be watching, it pained me to push that until tomorrow because the finale was two hours and I didn’t want to be spoiled.
I could not really pay attention tonight because I had been promising to put a recap of RuPaul’s Drag Race up and I was worried that The Lady Cocotte would bust out of her chains and refuse to continue her excellent recaps if I didn’t get it done before tomorrow. Much like the constant barrage of increasingly terrifying real life political news fueling my anxiety issues that have returned, reality news has been filling up my inbox. My brain is in overload because of all the pressing financial matters I need to sort out, I suddenly developed allergies or else something is trying to eat my brain, and at some point I at least need to get up and wash a fork and a clean glass. I just need the world to stop for a day or two so I can catch up but it just spins on. So I was working while watching and missed a lot.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about it here. But I am not an intelligent guide for this like Phil would be if he were not off doing whatever it is he does. Perhaps he will weigh in later. In the mean time I have more questions than answers.
It seemed like we started with Mama Pope being the assassin. Did I already know that? When I saw the inauguration begin and Nina Vargas walked out, my first thought was, well, we can kill her. She’s a very minor character. Did I mention that Scandal ends after season 7? Anyway I was sure she was a goner. But then no one died!
Then at the end when Olivia has her in a room with Jake and Olivia asks “Raise your hand if you have never killed a vice president before?” I almost died and Vargas really did die.
Then Olivia gets Mellie to sign documents funding B-613 again? And she is going to run it herself?
Then she tells Pappa Pope “I love you. I want Sunday dinners with you, to share this world with you, I want of father, but cross me again and I will kill you.” You know what they say, a family that murders together, stays together.
I loved the final scene with Olivia and Cyrus. I love that everything is working out just how Cyrus wants.
I am back in and can’t wait to watch the final season. Damn you Shonda, Damn you.
