Kim Zolciak Biermann and her brood have been in the Turks and Caicos again filming the finale of Don’t Be Tardy over the past few days.
The main story arc for the season has been a strengthening in the relationship between Kim and Kroy as Kroy tries to figure out what his next chapter is. Kroy being let go by the Buffalo Bills after just a week as well as the Falcons going to the SuperBowl the season after he was dropped took a bit of a toll on Kroy. He was reportedly looking for work in color commentary on the games but that did not materialize either. So he has been doing some soul searching and Kim has gone back to RHOA on a part time basis for Season 10. The new RHOA production crew should be rolling into Atlanta next week. It would not surprise me if quite a few of the Don’t Be Tardy producers take the lead in RHOA production this season. I still haven’t heard who the show runner will be, but if he comes from Don’t Be Tardy that will certainly benefit Kim who has built a good relationship with her production team.
Within the main story arc of “Kim and Kroy’s marriage is stronger than ever,” there are a few subplots. The largest was intended to be the (embarassing) trip to Italy where Brielle hunts for “Olive Garden food.” With two international trips this season, the show has come a long way since the annual road trip to Destin days.
That was usurped a bit by Kash’s horrific dogbite. Kim, like Kyle on RHOBH has a producer credit on Don’t Be Tardy. There isn’t much editorial power that comes with this sort of honorary title, but they are included on field notes and daily production notes and get the rough cuts of episodes. That is really more beneficial in Kyle’s situation than it is to Kim because Kim is in or at least on set for almost every scene. I bring this up only because Kim is trying to control what is shown, or more importantly what is not shown regarding the dog bite. While it is clear to us that Kash was bitten by a family dog, most likely Sinn, Kim doesn’t want this shown. I do not think she will get her way on this. There is not way to show the events surrounding Kash’s injuries without ever mentioning the dog.
Brielle’s relationship with Michael Kopech will also be featured. Michael is a minor league pitcher who has had some obstacles to his path to the majors. In 2015, he was benched for 50 games after failing a drug test for disallowed substances. He claims he did not knowingly take the substance which is a stimulant found in weight loss substances and that he was actively trying to gain weight. Then in 2016 he broke his hand in an altercation with a team-mate. The details of that instance were unclear. By all accounts he is an excellent pitcher with fast balls that at times exceed 100 mph. They have been dating for a year. They do a lot of traveling in the off season and things seem very serious.
So how did the season end? With a vow renewal in Turks and Caicos of course. I am surprised they were allowed back to Turks and Caicos, to be honest. Will this be the kiss of death for their marriage? It seems that vow renewals never lead to a lifetime of happiness on reality shows. Kim and Kroy married on 11/11/11 the very same day that Yolanda Hadid married David Foster. At least they managed to out last them.
Will you be watching Don’t Be Tardy’s sixth season?
