UPDATE: The 911 call that Chris Soules made from the accident site has been released. The proves that Chris did call 911 from the scene of the accident and attempted to render aid. The victim of the accident was unconscious at the time and CPR was rendered apparently by another witness to the accident. The victim is said to have had a pulse when the ambulance was in route. The phone call ends with Chris asking to call the dispatcher back amid the chaos.
Multiple new sites are reporting a fatal crash in rural Iowa involving Chris Soules, The Bachelor on season 19 of the ABC show. A pickup truck, allegedly operated by Soules rear-ended a tractor in the 1000 block of Slater Avenue, north of Aurora around 8:30 p.m Monday the trailer was knocked off the road into a ditch on one side of the street and the 66-year-old driver of the trailer was taken to the hospital where he ultimately died. Soules allegedly crashed into a ditch on the opposite side of the street and then walked to a nearby residence, fleeing the scene and apparently failing to render aid. Some sites are reporting that alcohol was found in the truck.
Local stations are reporting that Soules has a lengthy history of traffic violations including a DUI in 2005, numerous speeding and traffic tickets, and an open container violation in 2001. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says bond was set at $10,000. and he bonded out of jail after being arraigned this morning.
