Tamara Tattles exclusive sources have some information about what happened in Charleston yesterday regarding the custody battle between Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel. I spent pretty much all of yesterday reaching out to sources who had not heard anything. Finally today, I got a little bit about what went down.
The meeting was the final attempt to avoid a trial and have both parties agree to a parenting plan. The very first thing my sources said was that after several hours they agreed to a plan. I was stunned. I was told both parties really wanted to avoid the expense and public scrutiny (by us) of a trial. If they have to go to trial, all the torrid events of the last four years would become public domain. So they came to some sort of agreement, the details of which I am not privy to.
Someone sent Thomas the interview Kathryn did that was posted by Reality Tea. I have been told that Thomas read the interview just before they were supposed to sign the document. Thomas then refused to sign. Thomas felt that Kathryn had broken their court order not to disparage each other or the Internet and not to give interviews. Personally, this seems like a silly reason not to go through with a parenting plan that could end the drama once and for all. I feel like Thomas might reconsider after a bit of a cooling off period. That is just my opinion and my source gave no indication that will happen. I found Kathryn’s interview to be full of delusion based on what I have heard from multiple sources about Kathryn’s current situation regarding visitation and her current state of mind. I don’t really understand how that article was the deal breaker. But apparently it was.
My sources claim he was “hurt by the article.” Again. I don’t get it. I’m just relating information.
So Thomas is ready to move forward with a trial. Numerous Southern Charm people have been deposed this week. Most are in support of Thomas. The nature of those depositions are about Kathryn’s behavior while pregnant with the children in social settings. Other websites have posted texts and a video that purport to show that she was not making good choices while pregnant. Craig, has apparently also been deposed on behalf of Kathryn to say, one presumes, that he has never observed any disturbing behavior during her pregnancies also it appears that he judged Thomas’ parenting in a negative way. Thomas apparently read that deposition yesterday and he lashed out on Twitter with the tweet posted below. It has since been removed but a reader here sent it to me right after it was posted.
Other random information…
It seems that part of the problem with Kathryn seeing her kids is that she is not living in a permanent situation. I’ve been told that she does not stay at her parents house and after a time of couch surfing has landed at the home of a new guy she is supposedly dating. I am also told her visitation agreement no longer requires supervision and that the nannies do not stay with the kids, they just do the transferring of custody. My sources were unsure about when the last visitation occurred but the estimate is around three months ago.
Kathryn is scheduled for a hair follicle test today. If she shows up for it the results will take a couple of weeks. My understanding is that the test that she passed when she returned from rehab was not a hair follicle test. That test, which happened last fall was the last test she has taken despite several court orders to take others.
So unless something changes, we are back to square one and headed for a long trial that will likely have a jury.
