The RHONY are one of the few franchises left that actually write blogs anymore. Apparently, they are the most literate of the franchises. Others are sent questions to answer because apparently they need help organizing their thoughts.
Last week’s RHONY episode was the introduction of Tinsley Mortimer. So everyone had something to say about the new girl this week. Tinsley sang the praises of Sonja and staying at her townhouse, which means I will never believe a thing in her blogs. Because we all know better. She was so not happy being stuck with Sonja. Contracts can have some really crappy clauses.
Bethenny got a lot of backlash on social media for her apparent brush off of Tinsley. For once, I agree with Bethenny, compared to the other idiots at the Mad Hatter Tea, Bethenny’s social graces rose above the others.
Welcome Tinsley. At the mad hatter party, I brought a bottle of Skinnygirl Peach Margarita, said hello, talked to my friends, wore color, and even shoved a sandwich in my mouth. Sorry if my greeting wasn’t up to Southern standards. I like Tinsley, and that is how I am when I meet someone new. I go with a handshake and a hello. I wasn’t quite ready for friendship bracelets or matching tattoos.
Ramona changed her story about the neck scarf from “hickies” to “mole removal” in her blog. Whoever had cosmetic surgery as the reason in the TT pool last week wins! She seems to realize that her obnoxious personal questions to Tinsley were a bit much.
As far as Tinsley, my first thoughts of her were that she is a very beautiful women and comes off very sweet and nice. I always ask questions, both personal and general. How else do you start to get to know someone? I actually felt that she was very responsive to my questions. I think she has a great attitude and a lot of confidence! The get-together was a bit awkward, especially for her. She was the center and guest star of the party and was meeting a lot of different types of people. I actually wonder how she felt about all my questions.
Luann’s blogs are generally very brief. She doesn’t even bother to say much about Sonja and Ramona anymore. But she was kind to Tinsley.
Last season, while I was looking for a new apartment in New York, Sonja was gracious enough to let me stay with her, and this season, she has a new roommate, our old friend, Tinsley Mortimer. I’ve known Tinsley for many years, and I can assure you there’s more to her than an arrest record! I believe in second and third acts, and I wish Tinsley all the best as she settles back into New York social life.
Now onto to the tea party in the Mad Hatter’s townhouse. Oops did I get that wrong? Oh well, I think it’s accurate. No, I was not invited, and even if I were, I would not have gone. But unlike Sonja, I will not be spending a year or even a second thinking or mourning about it. There is definite tension between Sonja and I, and she is looking to get Ramona and Luann to side with her, but I am not sure it’s working. I think one of the real reasons she does not want me there is because Sonja does not want me to meet Tinsley and potentially have us become friends. She clearly already feels competitive about my friendship with Ramona, which brings me to Tinsley. This is not an easy group of women to meet. Each of us has very unique personalities and are quite strong women. We do not let everyone into the fold like a Junior League social. The added elephant in the room? Tinsley is returning from Palm Beach back to New York City with a mugshot. So I am not sure how smoothly the first cup of tea went, how about you?
Had I read Sonja’s blog first, I would have purple penned it. Lets just say the only person she has anything nice to say about is Tinsley. It’s clear, Tinsley is supposed to be on Sonja’s side this season, but I suspect she jumps off that ship pretty quickly. Sonja is furious with Ramona for “friend jumping” her for Dorinda by not letting her stay at her house in the Hamptons tonight. She is still furious with Dorinda for not inviting her to the Berkshires last season. She is furious with Bethenny for blocking her promotional gig with the debacle that was Tispy Girl. She spent a great deal of her blog reminding us how long she had been sleeping with Tom before Luann stole him out from under her. She’s mad at Carole for saying she would not seek out dating advice from Sonja. Basically, Sonja hates everyone and his hanging on to Tinsley for dear life. Eventually Bethenny makes up with Sonja again. But reconciliation with Ramona is much less likely.
I can’t wait to see what tonight’s show has in store!
